MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 2Pet.3:1-4 - "Where is the promise of his coming?"

2Pet.3:1 This is now, beloved, the second letter that I have written to you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by reminding you; 3:2 that you should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandments of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior: 3:3 knowing this first, that in the last days mockers will come, walking after their own lusts, 3:4 and saying, "Where is the promise of his coming? For, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

There are entire religions built upon calling other people and religions evil because they have questioned an interpretation of end times prophecy made by a man or a group. Those calling down evil use the apostle Peter's words here blasting their enemies as mockers of God, and from the devil, stating they are seeking their own lust because they have questioned their prophecy which millions have blindly put faith in.

Titus 3:1 Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,
3:2 to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men. 3:3 For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
3:4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

However, years later when the prophecy fails just as all those making up prophecies from the scriptures have failed since Christ. Yes! Lets say that one more time since Christ was upon earth and the prophecy he spoke came true upon Jerusalem in 70CE, not one prophecy mankind has spoken in two thousands years since has came true even though the bible was used and people were persecuted, and some violently. Moreover, those promoting the prophecy never repented, or ask forgiveness for hurting and misleading sometimes millions of people into the destruction of their faith.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith, with power;

2 Thessalonians 3:2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for not all have faith.

1 Timothy 1:4 neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes, rather than God's stewardship, which is in faith--

1 Timothy 1:5 but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith;

These ones actually have fulfilled the Peter words greater than those they were calling down evil upon for not accepting their flawed spiritual understanding of Christ and the scriptures. They have become the mockers, those following the needs of their own flesh, by lusting for recognition and fame in unlocking truth's about the last days. Sadly, they have failed the test of a faithful slave, but not only have they failed this test, they denied the very power of Christ in saving his own, how?

John 3:15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 5:24 "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

1 Peter 1:5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Truth is revealed from top down, it is given from God at his time table, and in his way. He does not give truth to glorify men in their flesh. He gives truth to glorify his Son Christ Jesus as the one true prophets since his resurrection and glorification. The rest of us as human's that love God are slaves waiting upon the master directions, to glorify Christ in doing the will of our Father through Christ. We have not yet been proven faithful on to death like Christ.

Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 1:4 having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. 1:5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time, "You are my Son. Today have I become your father?"{Psalm 2:7} and again, "I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?"{2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13} 1:6 Again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, "Let all the angels of God worship him."

Matthew 24:13 But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.

Not once in the history of God and man did any man reveal truth before God gave them truth, not one man was special enough to reveal the truth without God's expressed permission allowing them as a simple vessel to do so. Moreover, truth was reveal only to those God wanted that truth to be know too, not everyone, and certainly not before his time table. Mankind has made themselves the center of all prophecy taking and claiming glory for bring it forth, as of greater worth to God, chosen in some way above others. One must put faith in the person and/or religion rather than Christ the key to our salvation.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation.

2 Peter 1:21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

This is why for two-thousand years since Christ not one of the prediction made by those entrusting themselves with the position of Christ upon earth, not one prophecy from the lust of their own hearts has came true, not one! Sober up to righteousness!

Ezekiel 13:6 They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, Yahweh says; but Yahweh has not sent them: and they have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.

John 3:34 For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.

John 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.

John 5:23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn't honor the Son doesn't honor the Father who sent him.
