1Thess.5:2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
What should God's anointed know? What simple conclusions should they be able to draw by the Holy Spirit, which Spirit teaches them all things needed for this life, and the one to come? Well, such is not a trick question, if one is attached to a body with a brain it should be no mystery that the member body parts of that body be appraised of the brain function with in the same body, should it not?
2 Corinthians 13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
But here many for thousand's of years claiming to be the bride of Christ have poured themselves over Paul words in this chapter of Thessalonians dissecting each word, and phrase, as if they didn't know anything from God's Spirit until some leader of their faith gives them a message, a letter to understand what Paul stated we should know? Christ would come as a thief, but they were son's of light! Thieves strike at night, but they were son of light, seem not too difficult?
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
If they were of the body that was coming, lets see now? Of the same Spirit, having the light in dwelling them what was all the worry and fuss over? Wasn't having faith in Christ enough? Was Christ tricking them? This is a good question? But why would Christ trick them? Well, if they had become works of law Christian's, living in fear of judgment because they weren't real sure they had done enough self-works, study enough, listen close enough, attended enough meetings, been kind enough, preached enough, than indeed they would be very worried if the day would over taken them like a thief at night because they were in darkness!
Romans 9:32 Why? Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
1 John 4:20 If a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
However, if they were in the body of Christ loved and cherished by the gift of God's unmerited kindness walking in love and faith they could "rest" in faith knowing nothing was lacking for God's anointed in love and truth. But the problem was you see; like so many works of law Christian's faith is not enough, works of law to them is more reasonable, for a person that imputes evil to God and his promises. They judge by flesh, and make man judgment towards others in their flesh their religion, because they have no faith in God's love. They have faith in themselves, in comparing their works against someone else fleshly works, a person, or a religious group, some rule of the group, in keeping some of the commandment believing they will gain merit with God and man. Deceiving themselves they are doing a better job in keeping a rules, which removes their sins, making the righteous, and cleaner than other sinful human's!
1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.
Moreover, they love being the first in all things revealing some new light, and/or truth, they love fighting over biblical doctrine, and words of the bible so they can build up their flesh in defeating others proving once again they have gained merit with God. But the body of Christ lives in faith, knowing God is perfect in good gifts to his children, they know God will not handed them a serpent, such deception is from evil men of the flesh claiming they know God.
Matt.7:9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
James 4:2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask.
The Spirit teaching God's children is not of the works of flesh, so it cannot feed the power of flesh and its boasting, the two are opposed as light is to darkness, God Spirit is refreshing bring peace and rest to the evil lust of the flesh by killing it in God's sight. The Spirit of God does not excite the flesh and its works in battles with other flesh, it does not create fear of losing this life, by losing a word war. Instead it gives us Christ power by Christ indwelling us with truth, hope, love, and faith. This power is from above not in the flesh shown in wisdom and a quiet mild spirit which is of great value in the eyes of God. It lets a real Christian's live a quiet peaceful life, without stirring up the pot of contention of the flesh with ones neighbor, it looks after widows and orphans in their tribulation, nor does it boast in the flesh by winning a battle over doctrine.
James 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. 3:11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water? 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water. 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom. 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
2Pet.3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 3:11 Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness.
