1Thess.5:3 For when they are saying, "Peace and safety," then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
Words can be misleading, words can be very powerful to where a person can repeat them over and over again out of fear thinking they are pleasing to God by word patterns. Shocking as this is to those worshiping in Spirit and truth, some of them have also fallen into a pattern of words the apostle Paul states here above - for more than two thousand's years?
Ecclesiastes 5:2 Don't be rash with your mouth, and don't let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and you on earth. Therefore let your words be few.
Ecclesiastes 5:3 For as a dream comes with a multitude of cares, so a fool's speech with a multitude of words.
Yes, looking for world leaders to say Peace and safety”, “Peace and security”. Christian's listen very carefully at world leaders if they put this pattern of word together thinking they are a marked generation that will see Christ coming? But truth does not lie, the truth is these words have been echoed by every generation since Christ? But aren't these the magic words that brings the end? So why hasn't the end come? Why then has these special words, having magical power not made Christ come?
Proverbs 30:6 Don't you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
Isaiah 48:5 therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I showed it to you; lest you should say, My idol has done them, and my engraved image, and my molten image, has commanded them.
Words are like serving an idol repeating them in some chant thinking we are going to make things happen with the living God? Not the living God, but some gods? Has God failed? No these words have been said correctly, in perfect prophecy that befell Jerusalem in 70CE! History records it, and testify perfectly to the Jews saying these words, boasting that the Roman empire withdrew from their city, thinking God had stood in for them; protecting them from Christ prophecy? They started repeating these same words, four years later the Roman's returned and destroyed the entire city, and the worship of their temple just as Christ had perfectly predicted.
Luke 17:20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, he answered them, "The Kingdom of God doesn't come with observation; 17:21 neither will they say, 'Look, here!' or, 'Look, there!' for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."
Two thousand's years later this explanation does not satisfy most Christian's they are not shy about using these words in predicting the end of their world, but at the same time we have a foolish past of ever generation making the same mistake? Christ will come, at God's timing, he will come as a thief, he has already came to his congregation indwelt with his life, that is, his anointed followers, simply because they are part of his life, and members of his body. They have nothing to fear or flee too! They are saved as Christ told them they were saved, and none would perish.
John 10:10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
It is the world that will be caught off guard and even if they weren't eternal life does not come from finding a pattern of words or some date. Eternal life comes in a pattern any honest Christian's can find in their bibles of loving our heavenly Father just as Christ set pattern for us, in everything he did in life on earth. No mystery in Paul's words, only mystery and distrust for those making God into a idol that they can pleased in their own minds and hearts by false worship.
John 12:36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light." Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.
Matthew 11:25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
Devotion to words, idols, object, groups, people, place,or things has nothing to do with worshiping in Spirit and truth, which is, the person of Jesus Christ for all Christian's, if one cannot believe his words, than they will make an idol to please their own distrustful flesh that cannot be saved, in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
Matt.7:8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. 7:9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Rom.8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be. 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God. 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
