MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Rom.8:28,29. - All Things Work Together For Those Who Love God?

All Things Work Together For Those Who Love God:

Rom.8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}

What is chance? Chance is something we take hoping for a good out come. We calculate the risk, and if we think the odds are in our favor we take a chance hoping we will win!

Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

But here the apostle Paul is not talking about taking a chance rather he speak of two points. 1.) that we can be assured all things work together for those who love God, and 2.) which is those called for God's purpose they are predestine.

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

The question is, why were some of these brothers and sisters not understanding that their lives were not by chance or a crap shoot? Actually, the answer to that question is found for us in the context of chapter eight of Romans. The flesh was the problem, the flesh is a crap shoot it cannot come under God's law, and in fact it cannot know God which makes this a paramount problem for those not understanding what walking in their flesh means?

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?"{Isaiah 40:13} But we have Christ's mind.

Truth and stability for God's children does not come from being fleshly in our thinking. It is the Spirit that is everlasting, and endures for ever. You see they were created new by God's everlasting by His Spirit, their assurance was not at all found in the power of their flesh, but in God's Word which endures for every. (Christ Jesus the Word.)

Isa.40:5 The glory of Yahweh shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it." 40:6 The voice of one saying, "Cry!" One said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
40:7 The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh's breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass. 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever."

Isa.40:17 All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity. 40:18 To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?

1 Peter 1:25 but the Lord's word endures forever."{Isaiah 40:6-8} This is the word of Good News which was preached to you.

In other words, a child of God cannot have both, (Flesh and Spirit) that is, some of each, and know or even trust God, why? Simply put, the flesh cannot be trusted, it really can't, it changes from light into darkness minute to minute depending upon its mood swings. Like a tree with many shadows under its branches. The flesh is momentary having no power in itself like a flower that blooms in beauty and fades under the power of the hot Sun within days.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. 1:14 But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. 1:15 Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. 1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

These brothers and sisters were not flesh, light and darkness, they were not an after thought, or in context (Roman Eight) under the judgment of the flesh any longer, a judgment they should have known was completed in Christ himself who is everlasting to everlasting incorruptible, and immoral, a powerful spirit being at God's right hand their calling was never based upon flesh a whim of good luck, but upon a foundation given them freely by nothing they had practice good or bad.

Rom.9:8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as a seed. 9:9 For this is a word of promise, "At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son."{Genesis 18:10,14} 9:10 Not only so, but Rebecca also conceived by one, by our father Isaac. 9:11 For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls, 9:12 it was said to her, "The elder will serve the younger."{Genesis 25:23} 9:13 Even as it is written, "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."{Malachi 1:2-3} 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be!

So what was the real problem in context? It was the power of sin judged by the law. Yes! The flesh being made alive when the law of God is executed, it becomes active, causing its lust to known, excited! These brothers and sister were walking according to sight, that is, their flesh in using the power of the law to judge flesh.

Rom.7:12 Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good. 7:13 Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful. 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin. 7:15 For I don't know what I am doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. 7:16 But if what I don't desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. 7:17 So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.

Flesh has no love for Spirit, or can it be in subjection to Spirit. Subsequently, it certain does not trust in the unseen, but in itself for getting things done, but how can a person save themselves by the law which condemns all flesh worthy of death because of sin? In other words, unwittingly these brothers and sister dug themselves a hole thinking they were doing righteousness by judging the flesh of each other by God's righteous law.

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

The flesh, their flesh, specific was accounted dead in Christ, why? Simply put, because the law proved it could not be righteous, or save itself. Now faced with no other option but faith in Christ life their provision for salvation by his righteousness, and none other, required them to be thinking differently about things. These brothers and sister must not live a lie. One cannot judge their flesh, and not come up far short of the glory of God.

Matt.7:3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye? 7:4 Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye?

This is the first step in our accepting God means of salvation, not education, or knowledge by some group or teacher, but truth of our own condition asking God for help. Salvation comes from God down too us, it is a gift given to us whom have no way out of this fleshly body under going death by sin. The gift of salvation, and life, is undeserved completely. It can only come from a God of love, not from human flesh that think it can stand righteous by works of law.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"}

Romans 8:3 For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;

Our relationship with God rest upon trusting him even in death of the flesh that if he gave us his Son, Christ Jesus; did not spare him for us unworthy sinners than indeed this is no crap shoot something our flesh or Satan can undue by fleshly judgment and thinking. If we were in death with no way out, and God richly brought out that was not by chance, or happenstance. God is not foolish like men judging flesh and simply discarding life as worthless by judgment of law.

Romans 8:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

These brothers and sisters must walking in Spirit and judge matter correctly according to truth (the Spirit), the truth of their own flesh judgment dead in Christ, and not reformable, and their being made alive in the Spirit by another person love, in giving us his life, and God love inputting us his merit. They must learn lowliness of mind so the haughtiness of the flesh did not take them in pride. The flesh has no merit in God's eyes the context of Roman's eight. Judging it once again by the law, gives it merit, makes it alive, by those thinking something good is reformable in our flesh to be saved. That thinking is why most of the Jews did not accept Jesus Christ, and why so many in false religion our mislead today.

Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Colossians 2:12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. 2:13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.

Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
