John.3:14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 3:15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Here is a vital point false religion would love to steal for membership into their group. Power, wealth, and position comes from gaining control over others. In presenting itself as an authority where those under a position will takes commands and obeys those commanments for fear of the flesh. Yes! Nothing strikes more fear then being rejected by those having authority over us!

Matthew 20:25 But Jesus summoned them, and said, "You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 20:26 It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be{TR reads "let him be" instead of "shall be"} your servant.

But here Christ present to his listener a story they were very much aware of being Jews, and what was that story? It was a story of rebellion, into life, yes, from a rebellious state of disrespect into life, simply by humbling oneself and looking up at a copper serpent placed on a pole. Many found they could not look up, so many died, but those whom humbly saw the truth of their actions saved themselves by believing in God way of salvation for them.

Numbers 21:5 The people spoke against God, and against Moses, Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this light bread. 21:6 Yahweh sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 21:7 The people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh, and against you; pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us. Moses prayed for the people. 21:8 Yahweh said to Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.
21:9 Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.

Many in false religion state their group is the copper serpent that God is using to save mankind. Certainly, Christ listener thought they knew who the copper serpent was for them, the nation of Israel and its temple worship. However, the copper serpent raised up was the Christ, no human, or group could lay claim to doling out the copper serpents healing powers by works of law, why? Let us not forget the story from rebellion into life, there were no works of law, or good works that saved these rebellious Israelites, there was only belief, faith that saved those humbling themselves from their pride over worshiping position that they were saved.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

2 Timothy 1:9 who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal.

The world wide empire of false religion places high regard upon the top leaders of their groups making lesser subjects put faith in their position as teachers of the religion doling out the power of the copper serpent. But healing does not come from looking at flesh, a group, a doctrine, or a position, but Christ, by faith. False religion could not exist without the thief of the copper serpent, using it for people that want to idolize man, and/or human organizations. But they will all be plagued with the woes of a serpent bit like every other institution created by mankind under rebellion from God's Kingdom. (government, religion, and commerce.) There is only one source of healing for the human race, and that is to believe in Christ Jesus, God's love too mankind, humbling ourselves and doing what God tells us to do from heaven by Holy Spirit.

Eph.2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 2:5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 2:7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 2:9 not of works, that no one would boast.

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe.

This world was conquered by Christ it has no hold on him, Christ power is above all power in heaven and earth, nothing can conqueror Christ of this wicked fleshly world, let us look up setting our eyes on the invisible power above in a Kingdom that cannot be shaken by human events!

Col. 2:12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. 2:13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. Rev.1:17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Don't be afraid. I am the first and the last, 1:18 and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades{or, Hell}.
