Daily Bible Thought > Eph.1:13,14. - Good News of Your Salvation

Eph.1:13 in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation,--in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 1:14 who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of his glory.

How very complicated man has made salvation, a never ending legal arguments of dos and don't filling the book shelves of the world with enough printed material to cover the whole world many times over. However, the Good News of our salvation encompasses one thing the Christ, from start to finish he is God's works for mankind.

Ecclesiastes 1:15 That which is crooked can't be made straight; and that which is lacking can't be counted.

John 10:38 But if I do them, though you don't believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

The question was posed to Christ on earth which was: “What must we do, to do the works of God”? Sound familiar? Have you ever ask that questions? Christ summarized the whole of the Good News in one statement! “Believe in me”! Those that believe in Christ have eternal life, no works of a religious group is going to get you eternal life, not even giving a bunch of money to charities is going to give you eternal life, but believing in Christ as God's one door for salvation will.

John 6:28 They said therefore to him, "What must we do, that we may work the works of God?" 6:29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

Did those Paul wrote to hear received eternal life, upon believing in Christ, the Good News of Salvation? Yes, yes they did, how? They received the seal of the Holy Spirit, and the indwelling of eternal life, the life of Christ in them. No magic formula for gaining so called accurate knowledge through some legislated organized religion. Nothing to join or be baptized into but the Christ.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 19:4 Paul said, "John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus."

1 Corinthians 1:13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

There was no wondering if a person had been redeem or needed to get re-baptized or rededicated, accepting the Christ again, why? Simply put, they received the seal, the promise proving that they had been redeemed by Christ blood, they had become new, and Christ indwelt them removing all doubt, they now were God's possession, they were not looking for a new religion so they could fit into better, or a new teachers, they had been given the teacher the Holy Spirit sealed in them proving God's promises.

2 Corinthians 1:22 who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

Ephesians 4:30 Don't grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

They belonged to God, his captives for his own glory, bought from the earth guarantee salvation through the seal of Holy Spirit in Christ. They were regenerated by the life of Christ, and sanctified by his righteousness, the deep dark mystery was for the fleshly mind, and its legal legislating of laws, which fleshly mind cannot know God nor trust in God, so it perform works of law to gain merit for salvation. Because it has no seal of approval, it thinks it can gain salvation by good works. Nothing is free to the fleshly mind and hold distrust for anyone saying salvation is free, a gift from God.

2 Corinthians 9:15 Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift!

Ephesians 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Galatians 5:1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Yes, each child of God must rest in the promise God gave them freely, not by works, but his love. The Good News of Salvation was not written upon paper, into a million talks, nor in some human interpretation of the bible, but instead upon hearts, made new by the power of God's Kingdom in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.

Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;

1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
