MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Rom.10:4. - Christ The Fulfilment of The Law?

Rom.10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Many Christian's find the apostle Paul's word here difficult to explain let alone to jell with their religious doctrine. While they agree the law was fulfilled by Christ they still engage the law of Moses, and its righteousness in disciplining members of their groups and family. Subsequently, the law is not completed if its still being used by Christian's.

Exodus 12:19 Seven days shall there be no yeast found in your houses, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a foreigner, or one who is born in the land.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed in our place.

The basic truth of the scriptures are than twisted into a hybrid of mixing the new covenant and the old covenant creating a works of law righteousness through the power of love, that is, the new covenant. The very thing Paul was arguing against in the entire book of Romans. So what is the fundamental truth overlooked by most of us? It is the righteousness of the law, lets emphasis the word “righteousness” of the law. Do you understand the laws righteousness for sinners? We are not asking if the law was righteous, we are asking what made the law righteous for sinners?
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 Timothy 1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Galatians 3:11 Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, "The righteous will live by faith."{Habakkuk 2:4}

Simply put, God's mercy found in the blood of an innocent victim an animal, an animal not created to be righteous by keeping God's law
(the animal had not sinned against the law of God). There is the crux's overlooked by so many of us. A sinner could not be “made” righteous without God's mercy found in the blood! In other words, a person could not keep God's righteous laws, it was impossible for them as a sinner. Hence, the need for God to act by his power of creation in giving us life of innocent blood for redemption.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

Romans 11:32 For God has shut up all to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.

Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

The innocent (life) blood of the animals let a person stand righteous before God, even if they were the most outstanding of person in Israel they still must put faith in the redemptive blood (life) of God's mercy for them. But why did Christ fulfill the law, that is, completing it for those whom believe? Here in is found the confusion for many, God was not saying his law was unrighteous, i.e., no good; that it was weak, no! He stated that we are, and because of our sins, something the law only exposed, condemning us, and convicting us, but not removing the sins (death) for Adam something greater was needed (life).

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

Galatians 2:16 yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.

Life was needed to swallow up death forever. In others words, we exist in death to the life of God, by the life Adam and Eve past on to us. Sin must be completely removed to have life with God, that is, to have God in us so we live forever. The very thing Adam and Eve took away from us. The law could not indwell us giving us eternal life of God, it could testify against us, condemning us as a sinner, but it could not allow God's life to indwell us because of our sins. The reason for blood (under the law) was so Israel could stand before God's righteousness allowing them to worship him with a clean heart, not in Spirit and truth.

Galatians 2:18 For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.

Galatians 2:19 For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God.

Galatians 2:21 I don't make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!"

Galatians 3:2 I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

Christ is life, why? Number one, he came from above, that is, having no sin from Adam. Thus, he needed no laws for sin convicting him of not being righteous. Sinlessness is righteousness! It means a person has no laws condemning them of sin (in their flesh). Subsequently, they are governed by the law of life (Spirit), what is that law? Love. God is love that is where life stem from. The new covenant is found upon a law of freedom, freedom from what? The flesh, the flesh and its sins which is under slavery to punishment of God's law.

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who doesn't continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them."{Deuteronomy 27:26}

Galatians 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.

Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."{Leviticus 19:18}

The righteousness of the laws tells us sinner we are dead to God, our works cannot produce life, sinless life, required to associated with the God of life. We are dead works to God's righteousness even if we love the laws of God and desire to keep each and everyone of them we cannot without God's mercy by blood. Christ took our judgment, God did not dwell upon death to produce life in us. In other words, he did not keep us under the judgment of our flesh by his righteous law which only punishes us as dead to God.

Ephesians 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;

Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

1 John 5:20 We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 John 5:11 The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 5:12 He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn't have God's Son doesn't have the life.

John 8:23 He said to them, "You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.

God is the God of the living sending us life in his son. Our putting faith in God's love too us, his son Christ Jesus, gives us life indwelling us so we might tasted God's love and sweet association.
The righteous of God is found in the life of Christ Jesus for all Christian's, it is the only place there is life, not death by more punishment of laws created for sinners, but of no value for the righteous person without sin.

Romans 7:23 but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

1 John 3:5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

1 John 3:6 Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.

1 John 3:9 Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God.

This is why we so often hear about the flesh in our bibles, and why it can be said that nothing good dwells in our flesh? One is good, not many, many will be made good by God's love, but not one can make themselves good without the blood of Christ redeeming them into a sinless life by removing the judgment of their flesh from God's righteous laws.

2 Corinthians 4:11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.

2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.

Death is at work in all of us, how? By the constant judgment of the fleshly mind, but for those accepting Christ life there is also life at work in us, a life that has conquered death, that is, the mind of fleshly thoughts and its judgments. This world cannot be brought any higher by thoughts of punishment and death. The flesh cannot be perfected by such thoughts. God must put to death the flesh, and God renew us in spirit by the law of the new covenant, the law of life, love!

Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

All things in heaven and upon earth will be made new, by a new law that human's have never experienced, the law of God, the Royal law of love, when we walk in love we are in Christ our righteousness, we are in life, the life that swallows up the power of death through completing and finishing God's enemy forever lastingly.

1 Corinthians 15:21 For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.

1 Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

2 Corinthians 3:7 But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which was passing away:

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away."
