Daily Bible Thought > Rom.10:5 - Righteousness of The Law

Rom.10:5 For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, "The one who does them will live by them."{Leviticus 18:5}

What is the righteousness of the law? To date it has been a mystery for many, although, people whom are law minded cut through excuses made by the weak, yet, they themselves are accounted weak when measure against the laws righteousness!

Matt.7:1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged. 7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

The mystery is in us, human sin, and the self-justification of our legal mind which constantly approvals or disapproves us by our judgments that clears our conscious in ourselves, and/or before others. This court, is always in session, created by God own judgment of sin from the Garden of Eden. The righteousness of the law, and our sins are two separated issues. One is light the other darkness, hence, the mystery.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. 1:14 But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. 1:15 Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.
1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.

Here than is a perfect race set before us by God, run if you will, meet the law, and be rewarded with the reward of the law, eternal life. Many have run, and run hard with complete conviction, but none from Adam meant the law perfectly. They ran and tired out, they begged and pleaded with God, but God did not reward them with eternal life as he did his Son, why? None were righteous, they were all sinners, but one Christ!

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Don't you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

In other words, all must be made righteousness not by the law, but blood so they could be justified for breaking God's law. The mystery is found in us, and them, what mystery? The faulty thinking of our fleshly mind which continues to hold court to excuse, or condone our works by God's law. In other word, we judge how will we keep God's laws, and than we excuse our actions or justify them. This process self-justification alludes most Christian's, but simply put, its is called works of law, our works of judging ourselves right or wrong by certain rules and laws of bible, and/or a religion thinking we are made righteous by such judgments.

1Cor.4:1 So let a man think of us as Christ's servants, and stewards of God's mysteries. 4:2 Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful. 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man's judgment. Yes, I don't judge my own self. 4:4 For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.
4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

This mystery of running a race we cannot personally win without God's loving kindness, and/or undeserved kindness became so profound in Israel, and was also taken root in God's anointed causing some to say in their hearts; “who will go into heaven and get Christ down here, or into the depth of the sea to bring him up?” The mystery was in them sin, a flicking light with ever changing shadows so that no one could be trusted, all men were liars, now they imputed the same too God, and Christ. They found themselves in a trap twenty two, the harder they tried the deeper they got into failure, God must be tricking them, that is, not allowing them to please Him in their very best desire and efforts!

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

2 Corinthians 12:9 He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.

Rom.7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God. 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

They had missed the simple teaching of the bible for self-righteousness, which is, nothing more than judging oneself right against God's law. God's law did not judge any of us right, but Christ, it did not condone our efforts, the blood did, which blood is a gift of God's mercy. But most could not accept this truth, they could not stop the court of works of law in their fleshly mind, they could not transition from their own fleshly minds court into the mind of Christ, where their judgment stopped and stopped for others.

1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?"{Isaiah 40:13} But we have Christ's mind.

Romans 7:23 but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.

Rom. 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"} 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

The mind of sin became a deep pit of endless works they must do to please God, one day great, the next in the pit, bipolar was their works good and bad, sorting through the good to justify the bad ones to created a sheet of credits handed to God to justify them upon earth so that they could stand right before God. Wars from within and out with other Christian's, never ending justification, a famine of legal minded judgments.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

James. 4:1 Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don't they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
4:2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask.
4:3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever

A never ending repenting from dead works not even understand the meaning of dead works? Dead is our flesh to God because Christ blood redeemed us from the judgments of our flesh. Dead is our works of our flesh in trying to justify ourselves, something only God can give us in the gift of his son's life. Dead is our fleshly mind, dead to any works coming from our sinful flesh before God. Looking at the judgments of our flesh by laws of God and repenting each day is a dead work. The mystery happens when we think we can put away the filth of our flesh by human efforts. Such thinking is nothing more than judging what is dead to God in Christ our sinful flesh.

Romans 2:21 You therefore who teach another, don't you teach yourself? You who preach that a man shouldn't steal, do you steal?

Hebrews 5:12 For when by reason of the time you ought to be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

We have to accept with all humility God's love in undeserved kindness that our righteousness comes from Christ righteousness as a free gift not earned, then the mystery disappears, and Christ is found in our hearts by faith, and from this we speak to others. We boast only in Christ putting us in Spirit and truth.

Rom.10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'{Deuteronomy 30:12} (that is, to bring Christ down); 10:7 or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?'{Deuteronomy 30:13} (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)" 10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;"{Deuteronomy 30:14} that is, the word of faith, which we preach: 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
