MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Heb.1:4,5. - "I Will be to Him a Father"

Heb.1:4 having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. 1:5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time, "You are my Son. Today have I become your father?"{Psalm 2:7} and again, "I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?"{2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13}

In today world respect for position and power has diminished to the point that each person having an opinion thinks because of experience and knowledge they are equal to everyone else, but not in God's world. It seems at times everyone acts and talks like the boss making bold and prideful statements, even children!

James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}

But here in the book of Hebrews we find a rather shocking statement, angels, spirits being, who have lived endlessly compared to man, God has not called them son's! Moreover, the one he called his Son Christ Jesus did not have to take his position by acting like an authority, nor did he have to war with God's spirit servants to take his position.

Philip. 2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross.
2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;

Unlike the world we live in, where boasting and pride are the order of the day, the angels gave reverence to the Son of God when God elevated him into a superior position as king of eternity. God loves humility, for he is humble acting with lowliness and kindness towards the fallen human race. We see a much different picture of position and power at this glimpse into heaven, where angel though superior in power and position minister to human's on earth.

Deuteronomy 8:2 You shall remember all the way which Yahweh your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or not.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Psalms 149:4 For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.

Adam was a son of God, powerful, not all are sons of God, he intimately knew God as love, all things created upon earth was for Adam God's son. Nothing was lacking, nothing was withheld by God from Adam, because God created him from love. Now we see the last Adam, and the truth of sonship God created everything for his Son Christ Jesus in heaven and upon earth. We find also in the letter of Hebrew the perfect son waiting upon his Father suffering what seemed to be plagues of God upon him, but above all his love for the Father unto death.

Isa.53:2 For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form nor comeliness. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
53:3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn't respect him.
53:4 Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.
53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.

Once again shockingly in what the wisdom of this world thinks God calls some human's upon earth son's of God they to will be set over his angels as their rulers. None of which is explainable by works of law, and/or earned merit. If merit was the issue, and not love than most angels certainly have gained a perfect score card, yet they are not called son's of God.

1Cor.1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1:26 For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble; 1:27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; 1:28 and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:
1:29 that no flesh should boast before God.

The mistake we human often make in understanding God and his purposes is the same mistake we make with each other on earth. God creates positions, it not a contest, it not a choice that we must accept, God has a purpose for what he creates nothing will lack in his creation, his word goes forth with certain success, it will not fail. God does not feel ashamed that he did not do enough, or something was overlooked when he creates a position. Hence, for those loving God they have no worry that what God's has done is not for the best interest of all those loving God.

James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

In other words, God's creation is like our own body, if we have a hand it is a position unlike other body parts, but it was not a personal choice God created two hands for the benefit of our body. No evil can be imputed to God for creating us with two hands, not unless the evil exist in us? It certainly does not exist in the body for its own hands, now does it? Creation should teach us God's love. Christ position as the Son' God exulted was not a mistake, it was a creation of YHWH the God of love for his own good purposes.

1 Corinthians 12:20 But now they are many members, but one body.

1 Corinthians 12:22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

1 Corinthians 12:23 Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;

The need for recognition and power is a lack in us of God's love, the lust for glory and fame is a darkness that we have, not something God created. Sin is not in God, sin imputes evil to God. and his motives as did Satan in the Garden of Eden. The mind created from sin the bible calls the flesh mind created this world, it powers, and position, it is the lustful thoughts of the sinful mind that fights against the Spirit of God, love.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

God's love takes real effort to find, it holds out nothing good for the fleshly thoughts of this world. The food of the fleshly mind is the lust for position and power based upon self-merit. The food from above, heavenly manna is complete trust and reliance upon God as good.

1 Corinthians 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.

1 Corinthians 10:17 Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.

John 6:48 I am the bread of life.

John 6:50 This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.
