A Remnant According to The Election of Grace
****Rom.11:2 God didn't reject his people, which he foreknew. Or don't you know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel: 11:3 "Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have broken down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life."{1 Kings 19:10,14} 11:4 But how does God answer him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal."{1 Kings 19:18} 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
The apostle Paul once stated that every mouth was shut by the laws judgment of sin in us! That indeed has been a hard concept for some of us, but there is something far greater than the law, grace. Yes, unmerited kindness, undeserved kindness.
2Cor.3:7 But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which was passing away: 3:8 won't service of the Spirit be with much more glory? 3:9 For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 3:10 For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses. 3:11 For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory. 3:12 Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,
If the law shut our mouths in boasting in flesh, than the grace of God has kills our flesh to any thought of boasting in and of ourselves. From this point Paul under God's Holy Spirit stops the mouth of those thinking they were superior in Christ, no man has given another grace, removing sin, and judgment from their enemies, wiping their unfaithfulness away completely, by unmerited kindness, none, not one nation to date has dealt with those not of their nation with complete freedom in love.
Titus 3:3 For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 3:6 whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; 3:7 that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
How does one judge God's kindness as a free gift if one has received the same, that is, not by their own works, or merit, but as a gift not deserved? If the law shut all mankind mouth's locking them up into death by its conviction, how could one boast in the freedom from that judgment through God's own love? This is the dilemma, how could one judge God's kindness, how could one know the works of God in man's heart accept to uses laws of death to re-condemn those set free by His undeserved kindness?
Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
1 Corinthians 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours.
There is power in others weakness, sin, to control, to gain power over them through guilt, but to gain that power one must uses what they themselves had been set free from, sin, and the laws condemning sin. Now that is truly undeserved kindness when we cannot stop sinning, and none of us can live up to the standards of God's righteous laws, and yet he sets us free from sin.
1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
The body of Christ was not understanding the power of Christ life working in them through grace, they seen the power of law in the flesh, by condemning sin through God's righteous and good laws. Empowered them in their flesh, in this life upon earth, just as it had made God people Israel the greatest nation on earth. But it was not the solution in removing our sins, or bring us into personal sonship with God as declared righteous and sinless so we could be filled with God's Holy Spirit making us the temple of God upon earth.
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.
2 Corinthians 13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.
Ephesians 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might
No person had been God's temple upon earth under the law, the law did not come close to the reality of Son of God as sinless righteous man upon earth. Now God offered to the nations for them to become part of Israel, in Spirit and truth, that is, part of the life of Christ making them son's of God, as the dwelling place of God's Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 3:16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Philippians 3:10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death;
Had Israel been lost? No! God had a remnant that accepted the free gift letting go of the power of sins law for the true righteousness of Christ life. The laws power was not life, it was sin, sin is death! The power of Christ life, is life, not death, the power of God's kingdom is life, the life of Christ in us freeing us from death found in the power of law. They had gotten it backwards the lost of Israel as a whole was negative, but God is not past, he is not negative, he is not the power of the law which condemns us (past transgression our past sins, negative), God's power is expressed in life, Christ Jesus, nothing is lost, love cannot be lacking, can it?
Hebrews 2:14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.
Hebrews 7:16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
2 Peter 1:3 seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;
In other words, when one lives in life there is hope, faith, and love, there is no death, darkness, failures, and/or guilt. Those are the fruits of death. How then does one enter into life? By the fruits of life, which is, the power of Holy Spirit. Our flesh is dead in Christ, but living in our flesh we are at war against the death working in us, with the Spirit of life given us freely in Christ Jesus our life.
1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
Hebrews 2:14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.
2 Corinthians 4:12 So then death works in us, but life in you.
It is God's gift of life in Christ indwelling us, a gift of God, not by works, but grace we conqueror this world. We have the sentence of death in us, we know the truth of our condition, but the love of God compels us not to give up, in this great hope we know (Spirit) God just as he know us (by love), but then face to face we will know him fully. (as life)
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
1 Corinthians 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
