MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 1John.2:10,11 - Stay in The Light

1John 2:10 He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. 2:11 But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn't know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Who is the light? Did you note that the apostle John said we must remain “in the light”? What had all Israel stumbled over when thinking themselves the light of God? Next we need to ask how were these brothers and sister hating their brothers? What caused them to hate their brothers and sisters?

John 3:19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

2Cor. 3:13 and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face, that the children of Israel wouldn't look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away. 3:14 But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away. 3:15 But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.

Christ specifically and to the point, is the light, not our bibles, not some religious writing, or a religion, nor some man at the top of our religion. The question is that unravels the whole of the questions ask above? How had these brothers and sister come to be in the light? (Christ Jesus)

Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don't belong to the night, nor to darkness.

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.

In other words, how had Christ Jesus spirit life come to indwell each of these brothers and sisters, how had they become part of Christ elevated glorified life? If they had forgotten that then they were in the darkness, and profoundly shocking, they were hating their own brothers! Were they going to taken the very course of fleshly Israel that rejected Christ, and for what? Well, the scriptures are very clear why Israel rejected Christ, do we remember?

Rom.10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3 For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Self-righteousness, which is the purest form of hatred for our brothers. Yes, self-righteousness is darkness, which cause blindness fo the light, so where we don't even know why we stumble? The love of self over the love of God, makes us hate our brothers. God birth no self-righteous children, but he did gave birth to fleshly nation Israel in humility. They plainly had their sin, that is, their faults, first by the power of the law, and secondly, by the life of innocent victims that removed their selfish acts before God by giving it life for them.

Isaiah 59:10 We grope for the wall like the blind; yes, we grope as those who have no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the twilight; among those who are lusty we are as dead men.

John 11:10 But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn't in him."

Israel going before the altar of God, and watching a frighten animal be dragged to the altar then having its throat cut and blood running everywhere to forgive selfish acts before God should have humbled any honest hearted person cutting them in their heart. None could be self-righteous and see the witness of the blood on the altar of God thinking they had been made clean by works of law!

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

If they thought that, they were certainly blinded to their own actions, the thoughts of their hearts, and were hating their brothers when thinking they were somehow more righteous by their keeping the law in their own good efforts. Jesus was lead like a sheep before the slaughter for our selfish acts, acts that most of us cannot stop doing. Yet, these brothers and sisters wanted vengeance, and the law of Christ didn't provide it for them. They had forgotten Christ, they stop comparing themselves to the Christ and started comparing their brothers to themselves under the law.

Matt.7:1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged.
7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you. 7:3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye? 7:4 Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye? 7:5 You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.

The good done them in the atoning blood of Christ they had forgotten, they had forgotten how they were in the light, they thought through all the trials on earth they had earned salvation, they had not only earned it, but it was their righteous acts that kept them in Christ, but they had it one-hundred and eighty degrees backwards.

Philippians 1:11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

They failed to understand primary doctrine of Christ that there is no condemnation for those “in God's anointed”, that is, anointed means Christ. There was not many anointing, but one for the whole body of Christ. Yes, they like Christ had been put to death, in the flesh and raised into Christ the spirit. They did not put away their flesh by any work of law, it was the blood of Christ that they were declared righteous, in Christ righteousness. They had been freely forgiven, without strong efforts against sins in their own flesh, they had found like all of God's anointed there is nothing in our flesh that puts us in Christ.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 5:13 For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.

1 Peter 2:24 who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

But still the power of self-righteousness in the flesh is a very strong force it does not die easily, and when incited by laws that give power to sin in our flesh hatred comes into our hearts for our brothers flesh, in them not stopping those sin in their flesh, as we think we have in our own righteousness.

James 1:20 for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God.

Moreover, some had failed to understand the judgment upon the house of God. That God in his divine wisdom left us in a vessel of flesh, which is the judgment of God's household, daily upon his spiritual household. None were getting by with anything, not one, if they were the household of God, not even the least. Flesh Israel had received her judgment, but God's judgment upon his spiritual household would last generation after generation for any anointed by the righteous powerful Spirit of God that opposes the flesh, and kills the flesh.

2 Timothy 2:19 However God's firm foundation stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are his,"{Numbers 16:5} and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord{TR reads "Christ" instead of "the Lord"} depart from unrighteousness."

1Cor.4:1 So let a man think of us as Christ's servants, and stewards of God's mysteries. 4:2 Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful. 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man's judgment. Yes, I don't judge my own self. 4:4 For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord. 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

These brothers were hating by law their brother into complete annihilation, because of their hatred for the sins of brothers flesh, they did not separate the flesh from the spirit, as Christ does when handing the vessel of flesh over to Satan for its destruction, to save the spirit. No! They wanted to judge fleshly matters, not believing Christ in them would reveal what short of work they were building on, one of flesh or Christ, the in spirit temple of God.

1Cor. 3:11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 3:12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble; 3:13 each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is.
3:14 If any man's work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 3:15 If any man's work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.
3:16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you? 3:17 If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God's temple is holy, which you are.
3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness."{Job 5:13}
3:20 And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless."{Psalm 94:11} 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,
3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

1 Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don't obey the Good News of God?
