1John 2:12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
Most of us Christian's hear about our sins beginning forgiven we take it for granted as a the primary doctrine of Christ, but the apostle John here under the power of the Spirit says: “our sins are forgiven for his name's sake”?
That is much different than us thinking our sin are forgiven for something we have done, is it not? Although, this is a basic thought to our faith, it is nevertheless most overlooked by many Christian's leading them down a road of works of laws. But when we put the power on God's name, and Christ, it really takes it off of us and rightfully puts it into God's hand the King and Law giver.
Ezekiel 36:22 Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I don't do [this] for your sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations, where you went.
Ezekiel 39:7 My holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Israel; neither will I allow my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.
In many societies we find the governments are set up to represent the peoples interest so they are systems of politicking where government official lie to the people to get themselves into office telling the people how wonderful they are, and then do as the please once elected. Thus, laws are supposed to be formed from the complaints of the people which means the nation eventually gets smother in millions of laws as the next person strives toget into office and stay in office by making yet more laws!
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Yahweh weighs the motives.
Proverbs 28:6 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity, than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich. As the old saying goes when you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one! But here is important point God is not a democracy God forgives us our sin for his name sake, what is God's name sake? Certainly, not a religion, or a government on earth, or a person, but just as the entire book of John speaks about, and stands on, love.
Levitius 19:18 "'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh.
1 John 4:19 We love Him, because he first loved us.
1 John 4:16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
God is love, if we don't know that, we don't know God that is not just a political statement that John is using to sell God it is the key the very sustains of God, him, God is love! Why then has God forgive us our sins, because he is love, and love can do nothing less which is God's government, his very existence, how he rules all his children.
1 John 4:12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
If we think anything less then God name sake, his love, forgive us our sins so we could become his children then we will be sent down a road of politicking, fights, into all manner of fleshly acts to justify why we are deserving. This is precisely what was happening at the apostles times, which permeated into yeast kingdom where we have people calling themselves Christian's ruining God's government, where they have created idols of God and Christ of their own hearts making God and Christ handmaids for every need that society comes up with so religion molds itself like clay around the needs of the people. We must accept God's ways not our own, we must believe in God's love and live by it.
Deuteronomy 32:4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Isa,40:13 Who has directed the Spirit of Yahweh, or has taught him as his counselor? 40:14 Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? 40:15 Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
That is the issue John speak to here is how can we do that in a world that is anything but love, where our flesh constantly wars against the Spirit of love, how can we overcome? It is by faith not in ourselves, in our works, it is that God is love as hard as that is for us to understand and because God is love he sent us his love in Christ Jesus, and by his perfect life our sins where abolished “once for all times”.
2Cor. 1:9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.
1 Corinthians 2:5 that your faith wouldn't stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Beyond that there is no hope on earth or in heaven, each day as is sufficient for its own anxieties from within and without, we must remember that God is love, it is his love for his name sake that he forgive us our sins undeservedly, by his kindness. Let us recall God does not lie, he is not a promise breaker, and above all, remember love cannot fail! The floods will come, and the storms but we are not built upon sandy soil of man religion, governments, or commerce, we are build upon God's love.
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," says Yahweh: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.
Isaiah 44:22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
1 John 3:5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.
1 John 3:6 Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
