1John.4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 4:5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
What the Spirit says is babel to the flesh, the flesh is the world that cannot know God or be in subjection to God, who is the Spirit! The issue is are we mature enough in Christ to accept this truth that cannot be changed by all the well intention teaching technics in the world?
Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
The flesh i.e., the world speaks a language 180-degrees opposite the Spirit, one is light, while the other darkness. The brothers and sisters at John's time we involving themselves in debates certainly they meant well and felt that if they could just say it a certain way logic who enter in and the person would see the truth. However, just as we have no control over the wind, neither do we have control over whom Jehovah God reveals his Son Christ Jesus to.
John 3:8 The wind{The same Greek word (pneuma) means wind, breath, and spirit.} blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
The anointing these brothers and sisters had was not a progressive dripping of a faucet into a bucket to where through hours of studying they finally got it. That flaw, is not of the Spirit, but the flesh, and that is why so many thinking they can make people see the truth through a debate of words.
Titus.3:2 to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men. 3:3 For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 3:6 whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;
The world debates because its of flesh, and flesh feels very insecure if it does not have everyone agreeing with it. That is why the flesh cannot stop debating, or lets put it another way? The flesh is in a constant state of justifying itself. When it comes in contact with God's word, it does not change the flesh into Spirit it just uses the word of God to justify its actions in its flesh.
1 Corinthians 4:4 For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.
Galatians 5:4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
The fear is in the flesh, fear of judgment, increasing God's word the judgment increase in the flesh. The flesh is under judgments, so it uses works of law, teaching, being one of those works of law to justify its own fear.
Isaiah 28:13 Therefore the word of Yahweh will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.
But it does not matter because the Spirit does not justify the flesh, the Spirit is the truth, and the flesh can't hear it, but the Spirit knows all things of God of both the evils of flesh and goodness of God. Our anointing is like the wind, it comes and goes and God's direction. No human born on this earth births themselves without parents.
John 1:13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name:
1Cor.2:10 But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 2:11 For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God, except God's Spirit. 2:12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God. 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. 2:14 Now the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 2:15 But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.
No anointed child of God gains enough knowledge through debates to birth themselves into a new creation. If knowledge helps so much that it is a god worthy of dying for, and its all things to the flesh, why is our world in darkness according to God, the Spirit? Is knowledge going to bring it into light, where one-day it will become a paradise and bring everyone in it everlasting life?
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
The problem exist back at John's time and ours, which is, if we have the Spirit of God the world can't hear us, and if we have the spirit of flesh the Spirit words of God are babel to us, and we go off and build bigger and better towers of babel. False religion can't go away until the flesh goes away, that is, the fallen flesh.
Matthew 16:17 Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Zechariah 14:12 This will be the plague with which Yahweh will strike all the peoples who have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh will consume away while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will consume away in their sockets, and their tongue will consume away in their mouth.
Revelation 19:18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, and small and great."
Weeds do not become wheat, a person of flesh cannot be educated enough to born themselves again into a new creation. Does that mean God does not care? Well it does to the flesh, and its world of darkness, but not to the Spirit that will not pervert the truth because of feelings of our flesh.
Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" He who hears, let him say, "Come!" He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.
1 John 2:2 And he is the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation--the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
In other words, if one puts fresh water into a barrel of polluted water the only things that changes is nothing! It changes nothing, it makes the same mess of polluted water. God does not put his Holy Spirit to vessels polluted with sins.
1 John 3:6 Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
1 John 3:9 Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God.
God put his Holy Spirit in his Son Christ Jesus, we are born again into Christ Jesus the temple of God, by the righteousness of Christ. We are dead in our flesh, and its judgment by being in Christ Jesus having no judgment, because, the law is not for a righteous man it is for sinners, and the wicked.
Philippians 1:11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.
1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
We gain access to God the Spirit by another person righteous life, we have no righteousness in our flesh, it is dead, our righteousness exist in Christ. That being in Christ makes us no part of this world, and makes it so the world can't hear us, or listen to us, or even know us. Those truth will not change for any good intentions of our flesh, in our wanting to reform a religion, convert the world into Christian's. We are not in charge, no more so then we are in charge of birthing child into this world by giving them the gift of life.
1 John 3:1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.
1 John 3:13 Don't be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good. 7:19 For the good which I desire, I don't do; but the evil which I don't desire, that I practice.
Resting in God's Sabbath day, is resting in Christ as our leader, head, the fine Shepard that cannot leave one of God's children, it is not about beating the sins out of someones flesh to make them righteous in their flesh, so God will then rebirth them into a new creation. Frankly, our desires matter not, we have no control over the wind, and we cannot say why God anointed us? We know the truth before we did bad or good God chose us from the foundation of this world.
Isa.40:13 Who has directed the Spirit of Yahweh, or has taught him as his counselor?
If we do not have faith in that, and we have not tasted and seen the Lord is good, why then would we think we can go beyond the Spirit of truth, and do what is against the Spirit? It is very simple actually we lack love, for the God of love, we fail to see his unending love that cannot fail, we refuse to rest in it, because of he fears of our flesh!
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
Rom. 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"}
Rom. 8:11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom.8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 8:15 For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba{Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven.}! Father!" 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;
Rom. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
