Daily Bible Thought > John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous; because I don't seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous; because I don't seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
Facing the facts we all judge, but few of us if any us can say that our judgments are from God and each one is perfect. Yet, that exactly what got the entire nation of Israel into trouble with God!
Hebrews 10:30 For we know him who said, "Vengeance belongs to me," says the Lord, "I will repay."{Deuteronomy 32:35} Again, "The Lord will judge his people."{Deuteronomy 32:36; Psalm 135:14}
Christ did not read from the old scrolls and then say I judge you. No! Lets get the facts straight, and/or the truth, he said that he did not judge us, it was his Father “in him” that judged, and Christ was the messenger of that judgment!
John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one
Christ understood as a man, and as a man, he empty himself completely of his personal will, that is, his judgments that came from his flesh and blood; he did what none of us can do perfectly, and that was without doubt under great suffering he did his Father YHWH will perfectly.
Philippines.2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus, 2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross.
Christ under harsh testing carrying the sin of other, but never sinned! What he for good was all the negative emotions and feelings that went along with that sin as the Pass-over Lamb of God. With great outcry's of pain, and tears Christ learn obedience in letting our heavenly Father be the complete and absolute judge of his life, and that of others.
Heb.5:7 He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, 5:8 though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered. 5:9 Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of eternal salvation.
Unlike Adam and Eve whom chose for themselves what was good and evil for their lives, Christ did not! Although, we have a hateful and judgmental culture today, it was just as much so when Christ was on earth under the law which law had been proudly and boastfully in effect for thousands of years. Yes, like it or not, it was the judgment from God's own words in that society that unrighteously judge a perfect man Christ Jesus.
John 18:31 Pilate therefore said to them, "Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law." Therefore the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death.”
Moreover, we a fall short of God's glory, now remember Christ did not fall short of God's glory, but still he would not judge or did he delight in judging. Our using God's word does not authorize us to judge for God, we may think its does and its perfectly OK. But be cautious for Christ stated without a second thought that if we judge we will be judged.
Matt.7:1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged. 7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
James 4:12 Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
If we were doing only God's will then our judgment would be righteous, but if we are angry, because of some wrong doing and our emotion turn into anger is not God's righteousness, we should remember this point clearly, God's righteousness is now Christ Jesus not us because we read the bible and judge from it. It is Christ that one righteousness who is in the perfect image of God authorized to Judge for God.
Heb. 1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
James.4:1 Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don't they come from your pleasures that war in your members? 4:2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask. 4:3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. 4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"? 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}
In this we can be thankful because God own non-judgment of us is found in Christ our righteousness, thus, we are found under not judgment, but grace, that is, an undeserved gift if we are honest in knowing how much unrighteous judgment we all do every day!
James. 1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; 1:20 for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God. 1:21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls{or, preserve your life.}.
Hebrews 12:15 looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it;
