Romans 6:13 Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
Why does the apostle Paul use the thought of an “instrument” of unrighteousness? Well, actually an instrument is a word used when dealing with contract law, and that is precisely what Paul was dealing with here and talking about which is the context and material facts of the Law Vs. Christ.
Legal instrument is a legal term of art that is used for any formally executed written document that can be formally attributed to its author, records and formally expresses a legally enforceable act, process, or contractual duty, obligation, or right, and therefore evidences that act, process, or agreement.
So was the Law unrighteous, will be the logic that follows? Unequivocally no! Certainly the Law was righteous, but none of mankind were righteous, only one was righteous, the son of God, Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.
1 Peter 3:18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
So that was the issue at hand back then for Christian’s, and it is the same issue at hand for Christian’s today; is the law completed? That is not a question for human emotions, but it not a legitimate question of material fact of law free from the emotions of the flesh that confuses the facts of all law. Thus, If the law has not been (material fact of law) completed than there are no Christian’s either! That’s right, lets us sober up to true righteousness.
1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action,{literally, "gird up the waist of your mind"} be sober and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ--
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Christ was the end of the law, or he died for nothing, and if he died for nothing than there can’t be any Christian’s because to be a Christian, one must be “in Christ”, and Christ “in them”. That is the material fact of the enter book of Roman’s, and of the law.
Galatians 2:21 I don't make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!"
If a Christian’s wants to keep making payment on a completed contract that Christ pay off for us in giving his life to us freely to free us from our sins than than we are wittingly or unwittingly presenting ourselves to an instrument of unrighteousness by using the Law that God himself removed by sending us his son. That right for the hard headed among us.
1 Peter 2:24 who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.
Romans 7:6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
Romans 5:8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The law righteousness for all sinners was the blood of an innocent animal that had not sinned against God righteous law. Do Christian’s want to go back to the temple and kill animals again to keep paying on a contract for their sin that can never be completely? There not enough animal blood on earth that good be slaughters to pay off all the sin of us human under God’s righteous law, get real!
Romans 2:23 You who glory in the law, through your disobedience of the law do you dishonor God?
Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
Romans 3:20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
That’s right, the law completed nothing when it came our sins! Yes, that right, the power of the law was our sins, did you actually catch that point? THE POWER OF THE LAW IS OUR SINS! You see, if we had no sin the law had no “power”; think about it? So what did Christ do? Lets not be hard headed here Christ took that power away from the law by completing it. Those are the material facts of this epic trial for the human race?
1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
Hebrews 10:1 For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.
Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
Christ took, that is, stripped the law of all its authority over us, how? By taking away the power of the law, he did that by taking away our sins once for all times! Now please get that, one time forever, not each day until they are gone, but once forever, so how much power does the law have? How simple, how powerful of truth is that! So what was the power that took our sins away forever? Here is the key that 90% of most Christian’s can’t seem to get. The power was Christ righteousness! That right, Christ had no sin, thus, the materiel facts of law is proved right that one who has no sin - equals righteousness; sinlessness equal righteousness!
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:
2 Corinthians 3:9 For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Christ righteousness took our sins, and if we are given his righteousness we have no sin. That is right, and that is the truth of Christ is eternal righteousness, the law didn’t make us righteous, it was the blood that let us stand by redemption from our sins against God perfect and righteous law only momentarily. Yes, momentarily, because that is all our life is on this earth it is momentary, but Christ life is endless if we have it!
James 4:14 Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.
Galatians 2:21 I don't make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!"
Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Eph. 2:1 You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins, 2:2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; 2:3 among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 2:5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 2:7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 2:9 not of works, that no one would boast. 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. 2:11 Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "uncircumcision" by that which is called "circumcision," (in the flesh, made by hands); 2:12 that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. 2:14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition, 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace; 2:16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility thereby. 2:17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near. 2:18 For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, 2:20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone; 2:21 in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord; 2:22 in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
Christ he is everlasting to everlasting an endless life, and as long as we have been given his life, well, think about it? We are endless life also, and why is that? Because Christ is endless righteousness.
Hebrews 7:16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
Take no offense God didn’t take offense he rather sent his Son to completely the law. God was not jealous of Christ righteousness or in competition with Christ righteousness over the law righteousness that is a man thing who think and walk in their wisdom of a fleshly mind and who trade the Christ for a religion on earth!
Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 1:4 having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. 1:5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time, "You are my Son. Today have I become your father?"{Psalm 2:7} and again, "I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?"{2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13}
No! YHWH was proud of Christ righteousness, he glorified Christ righteousness. But sadly, and Oh so sadly, those Christian’s back than and today wanted to prove their own righteousness by an instrument completed and dead to God; presenting their dead bodies in Christ to an instrument dead to God, the in law! Foolishly thinking that they are born again by the law!
All their works under law are dead, Christ completed God’s contract of law so it of no value at all unless your in the flesh, Christ warned us, the flesh profits us nothing, yet, we have so many fleshly Christian’s that just can’t believe their flesh doesn’t profit them at all, as the endlessly struggle to put away the filth of their flesh, because it all they have, they are not born into Christ who has no flesh, they are born into themselves. thus, they are forced beyond reason to prove how righteous their flesh is by nullifying all of Christ righteousness for their own!
John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
Ephesians 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
Colossians 2:13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
Colossians 2:23 Which things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but aren't of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
