1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
All of us know fear, but few of us know the love of God! So if fear is common among all of mankind generation after generation in our reading the controversial scripture above by the apostle John, what would we focus our attention on, the fear God or God’s love?
Hebrews 13:6 So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"{Psalm 118:6-7}
We focus on the fear because none of us are without fear and few of us know God’s love accept in our legally mind that divides God’s word in to good and evil. Yes, it true, we judge all matters by a legal mind once into adulthood because we cannot thinking any other way, so how do we do that if Christ stated that good tree cannot have evil on it, and/or corrupt fruit on it; it is impossible!
Matthew 18:3 and said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
It not possible to judge God by good and evil God’s is love, simply because God is the only good he is the tree that cannot bear the fruit of sin, which is, the evil Adam and Eve both fell into and past on too us! We are at a great disadvantage just as Adam and Eve were after sinning, they lost what? The glory of God in their lives, they sink into the glory of their own flesh which falls far short of God’s glory for God’s entire glory is love, for God is love.
Luke 18:19 Jesus asked him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one--God.
1 Corinthians 1:29 that no flesh should boast before God.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.
So simply put, the fear is in us, is in our flesh, not God, but we think we can judge God while having both good and evil in us which is a lie. Yes, we do? We change in our love each and everyday according to our circumstance and how we are treated by others.
Psalms 39:6 "Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn't know who shall gather.
Psalms 144:4 Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away.
Thus, we are like a wave of the sea driven by our emotions of good and evil that we judge all matter by and in! We cannot know God by such legal logic, but we cannot stop doing it either. In that state we cannot think we will receive anything from God because we are double minded. We have the legal mind and the mind of spirit which is love. Subsequently, we have two fruit on same tree, which Christ stated was impossible! Furthermore, we think God love is our love and we take God’s word and judge all things by it thinking we have a blessing coming from God because we stand in truth, and righteousness.
James.1:6 But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. 1:7 For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
Matt.7:18 A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
James.1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; 1:20 for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God.
But when blessing don’t come but rather plagues because what we judge is what we get back, we think that God is hating us and tricking us. But its not true, we think God is us that he feels and think like we do, because we’ve read the bible and judged it by the flesh and its Good and Evil in us is no change by righteous words, but that proves false. However, forgetting we are born into sin and have good and evil in all that we do, and think!
Matt.7:8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. 7:9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
That is the contrast the apostle John is drawing for us here, one between light, God’s love, and the other darkness the sin in us, but do we honestly get it? Well, most of us don’t in truth. The darkness start with the first sin, it is in us, but its not in God, because God and his Son Christ Jesus have no sin, so they are the light they are the tree that cannot bear corrupt fruit!
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
John.15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. 15:2 Every branch in me that doesn't bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 15:3 You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 15:4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.
This is the context of the book of first John, what context? John is speaking to only those born new, into a new life, not their old life from Adam’s sin, but a new life without sin in Christ life. The distinction is not a mystery, if one is in the light, Christ life, and the other is darkness, the old life of our flesh, then and only then the truth is known of John’s words for all those born new in Christ.
They have the perfect teacher, the constant contrast of light and darkness at work in them at all times, one of death, and one of life; what is of fear is from their flesh, and/or others flesh they are associating with, but it not of God or in God who is always light, that is, he is always love! God is the full glory of love that we seek by the power of Christ life in us!
James. 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
Those not born of God cannot get the apostle John’s meaning no more so then we could before we born again not by mans will but by the will of God. It is true, those of the flesh hate those of the Spirit because they live in fear of judgment they can’t stop the judgment because it is eternal it is part and partial of God’s judgment upon all flesh born from Adam.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
They have no contrast they have not tasted of the coming glory of God’s kingdom in Christ in them they haven’t felt the power of God’s glory in his love, and his light. They have no touch stone to taste and see the Lord is good they have nothing but the legal mind that serves and protects them in this world but not in the next.
Ephesians 1:18 having the eyes of your hearts{TR reads "understanding" instead of "hearts"} enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
Ephesians 3:16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
They cannot hear what we say, they cannot know what the teacher is, and furthermore that is how we know who is of God and who is not! You see, as we battle this great battle of flesh against the Spirit we always come back to one thing, and that one thing is the power of God, which is his love.
We know the fear is not of God, but is in the fallen flesh under judgment. We know that it not truth or light, but is corruption and death leading us like a sheep to the slaughter. But the love in us, it is eternal, it is sealed and hid in Christ that cannot be snatch away by any weak or beggarly thing of this world, that is, by the flesh what it has built and kept it in check by the human legal mind.
1 Peter 4:13 But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy.
1 Peter 1:24 For, "All flesh is like grass, and all of man's glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
