The Peace of God

We may wonder at times, has peace been taken away from our earth? Strife, and discontentment are the order of the day, people seem so full of hate for each others, for self, government, religion, and even business, what is fueling all this tribulation in our flesh?

Revelation 6:4 Another came forth, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.

Do we want peace? To live a quiet life in contentment or do we desire to stir problems up with others for a little excitement? Do we push to be first, to have everything our way? have we ourselves become selfish and self-center consumed by a black hole of our own needs where hearing real problems of others don't even interest us or touch our hearts?

Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Proverbs 14:30 The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.

Well, to no surprise Christian's have known for years this time would come, where people become harsh, and uncaring, where their own needs outweighs the needs of the weak in society, but few, of those same Christian's thought it would effect them so dramaticly!

2Tim.3:1 But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3:3 without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, 3:4 traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 3:5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also. 3:6 For of these are those who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 3:7 always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Pursuing Peace

Mark 9:50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."

1 Peter 3:11 Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

To pursue something one must chase after it fixing their eyes upon it or they will lose it. If one chase a rabbit darting every which way, it is an intense endeavor, all senses must be focused to catch the rabbit, do we pursue peace?

2 Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent to be found in peace, without blemish and blameless in his sight.

First, for Christian's they must understand peace of God is vastly different than mankind's peace coming from ourselves. Peace of God is based upon one foundation, which is the foundation we as Christian's must build our house of faith upon, do you know what that foundation is? Most would admittedly say Yes! Christ Jesus, but there it would end, and so would their peace.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

Peace of God is built upon truth, and that is why Christ is the truth, not some truth, not part truth, or once an a while truth, he is truth, and to have peace with God we must pursue truth Yes, we must fix our eyes upon truth, we must chase after it with all our senses to not loose it and the peace truth brings too us.

John 16:33 I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

Knowing Truth is Truth?

How do we know the truth, how do we not chase after falsehoods? Simple really, but complexes because our flesh lies to us about the real condition of peace and what does that mean? The truth coming from Christ, which is, “the truth”, comes from above, it not found in our earth from mankind ways, why?

Because simply put all men are liars, the nature of our sinful flesh causes us to be born into lying no matter how much a person objects they spend most of the time in difficult times trying to justify why they don't give people the whole truth, or why they did, hurting their feelings. We are born into human society and trained in not being completely honest with each other. We talk to one person this why, and to another that way. We must, or we would not have a job, a mate, and keep our children. It is sad, but expected and demanded on every level of human society.

Jer.17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? 17:10 I, Yahweh, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

Rom. 3:13 "Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit."{Psalm 5:9} "The poison of vipers is under their lips;"{Psalm 140:3} 3:14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."{Psalm 10:7}

Boast as we may of being honest, none of us are when compared to the truth of God, Christ Jesus, so why is this important? Because with out this hard information we can never find real peace of God, with ourselves and others on earth, we can never know God, or why we need Christ Jesus life in us. Thus, the scriptures speak correctly of mankind's existence upon earth picturing them as a sea that cannot calm down, always full of wickedness striving and hating one another without peace.

Isaiah 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it can't rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.

Revelation 13:1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names.

If peace comes from truth than mankind is in short supply of it, now we know why peace will never come to our earth by mankind's efforts no matter how noble their motives are, human are not the truth, they can't deal with the truth of self, or their condition before God, so they live a lie, which bring with it no peace. Subsequently, mankind pursue peace by entertainment, drugs, alcohol, sex, wealth, power, by all means, but truth of God!

John 3:19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

The flesh of mankind cannot be at peace with God, it wars against God's peace which comes from his Spirit as a good fruit. Thus, where God is truth and light, mankind finds they are always changing on every level stiffing and striving to excuse the evil conduct by new laws, entertainment, wars, politics, being politically correct to humiliate others that won't go along with their views. Hence, strife and lack of peace is a way of life for unrighteousness mankind.

James 3:5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest! 3:6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.{or, Hell} 3:7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind. 3:8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God. 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. 3:11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water? 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water. 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.

Finding The Peace of God

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

First, we must chase after peace, seek it with our whole heart, it is a narrow and hard road to stay upon, because to find it we must find the Christ. Once we have sought peace from God, not man, what does this mean? It mean if we only go have way down the narrow road we are only half way there. We must go the distance to find the peace of God, which is Christ Jesus for us. Seeking God's peace by some religious organization is only half why down the road. Soon you will find it is a false peace a very deceptive false peace one that most never recover from.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie;

Saying, peace! Peace! When there is no peace is living a lie, preaching a lie is very condition that takes God's peace away from us. Many in religion will deny the truth to keep the religion, they will boast in the flesh of having peace among its members, by blinding themselves by words from the scripture while there is anything but peace of God in their group. This stubborn pride is a sin of mankind's fallen flesh, which is it stubbornly hangs on to an ideal because it was formed by God's righteous word.

Jeremiah 6:14 They have healed also the hurt of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Jeremiah 8:11 They have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Jeremiah 8:15 We looked for peace, but no good came; [and] for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!

In other words, the ideal is righteous, but what it produces is a lie, still because the ideal is so good: “I will deny the truth of its fruits!” Truth must be pursued at all cost to ourselves, we must believe the truth when it speaks to us, that is, Christ. Jesus stated, no matter the words, or the works of the words, the fruit does not lie on the tree. Not one person can stand before God, and excuse the bad fruit on their religion as good fruit before God.

Romans 1:25 who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Matt.7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. 7:16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? 7:17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. 7:18 A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.

To compare religion against religion upon earth is to compare no peace to no peace, to compare bad fruit to bad fruit ts a self-induced blindness because we want to think peace comes from mankind. Mankind cannot have God's peace because they are sinners, liars, and cannot walk in truth.

Rom.8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

To find peace with God we must look up, we must chase after it with eyes of faith, not eyes of flesh that wants a little peace for happiness now upon earth that will compromise truth for partial peace with family, friends or other humans. We must seek truth from above, and with it comes the sure and positive seal of truth, peace from God. Now this fruit does not lie, it is the fruit of a good tree, it is undeniable because it exist no where upon earth but in Christ Jesus and those God gives it to as gift of his love.

James 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,

Happy Are The Peace Makers

Matt.5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.

There is one place of peace for Christian's and that is Christ Jesus, no other place of godly peace is given among mankind, if we find the Christ and walk in him we will be formed by God's peace and taught the ways of peace. The thoughts of God's peace excel every human thought, they are above the mountain's of mankind governments, religion and commerce. They cannot be gotten by fighting with others over the bible truths, or going to a certain religion, they can only begotten by God's own love, expresses in his undeserved kindness towards us, that is, Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Pride will not enter into the gates of New Jerusalem above, it will not boast of fleshly peace or the works of the flesh, it will not boast in works of a dead tree of mankind's sin and the works done through sins on its branches. Those boasting will boast in God's glory, the peace freely given us by his love. This is the doctrine of all truth which will not shared with darkness, or mankind religion, not in half man, and half Gods words the bible. Christ is the peace of God, completed for us, by God's love into the glorious temple of the living God where peace is its overseer, where truth is exulted above all fleshly thinking, where light never changes as does mankind every changes values and thoughts.

1 Peter 2:25 For you were going astray like sheep; but now have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer{"Overseer" is from the Greek episkopon, which can mean overseer, curator, guardian, or superintendent.} of your souls.

Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men."

Luke 19:38 saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!{Psalm 118:26} Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!"

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

Darkness of the nations have no power over the light of truth, Christ Jesus, he has given light too us, but have we loved the darkness more than the light? Have we loved unrighteousness more than God, that is, the flesh of mankind, if so than peace is not our overseer, we are plagued with a lack of peace, we fight and wage wars with self, and others thinking peace comes from our flesh and its fights with God's word the bible.

Romans 14:17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,{or, faithfulness}

This lack of peace that is upon all the nation will bring all flesh to nothing, it will suffer loss, for every foundation not built upon truth, Christ Jesus will burnt up as if by fire! Although, flesh wants peace at the death of other flesh, it will find it is the same flesh and its judgment will be equal.

Matt. 7:1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged. 7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

The Spirit of Peace Giving Life

The spirit of peace comes from the King of peace Christ Jesus, this spirit is life giving, it brings the lie to nothing exulting the mountain of God above all nations of our earth. With the mind of Christ, comes the education of ways of peace, God removes the thing causing a lack of peace in mankind the sinful flesh, and replaces it with living waters, the life giving us spirit of Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"}

Colossians 2:12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

John 6:48 I am the bread of life.

John 6:50 This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."

Christ removed God's wrath from upon us, by removing the thing causing us the wrath our sinful flesh. He than gave us his life freely so we could be part of the everlasting good tree of his life, no lie is found on his branches, no lack of peace is in him, there no need to justify evil fruit by words from our bibles, because no bad fruit exist upon the one true prophet of God, Christ Jesus.

John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.
15:2 Every branch in me that doesn't bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 15:3 You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 15:4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 15:5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

With this humble acknowledgment comes the peace of God, we stop seeking life through dead works, that is, other sinful human and their ways. Which is, the wisdom found in all man made religion. We stop thinking they can save us by knowledge, we stop looking at flesh all together, and seek the things making for peace of God , which are above that gives us life and freedom.

Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.

Acts 17:27 that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

This is how we come up to the mountain of Jehovah's God, this is how we stop pursuing evil, and pursue good, this is how we pursue peace, by pursuing the truth in all things. Let us compare spiritual things spiritual things, let us learn the language of the spirit, love, peace, righteousness of Christ, not our own. Let us rest not in the flesh lacking peace trusting in human wisdom, but let us put faith in truth, in Christ, desisting from our works of self-justification. There is a day of rest for God's people, a day of continual unending peace producing life in abundance for those loving peace and pursuing it more than this life, have you found it? It not far off from each one of us, should we love truth?

Heb. 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. 4:9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 4:10 For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. 4:11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.

James 4:1 Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don't they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
4:2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask.
4:3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. 4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"? 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}
4:7 Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Rom.12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. 12:3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. 12:4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don't have the same function,
12:5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 12:6 Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; 12:7 or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; 12:8 or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. 12:10 In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;
