***John.2:1 The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus' mother was there. 2:2 Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage. 2:3 When the wine ran out, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no wine." 2:4 Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come." 2:5 His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it." 2:6 Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews' manner of purifying, containing two or three metretes{2 to 3 metretes is about 20 to 30 U. S. Gallons, 16 to 25 imperial gallons, or 75 to 115 litres.} apiece. 2:7 Jesus said to them, "Fill the water pots with water." They filled them up to the brim. 2:8 He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast." So they took it. 2:9 When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn't know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom, 2:10 and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!" 2:11 This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
Our Father in Heaven has promised us that he is creating all things new, new upon earth, and in heaven, for faithful and true are his words to us! The beginning of Christ ministry sets the stage for all things being made new, and not from man's hands, but the hand of God, here the first would be last and last would be first, or we say: “The best is yet to come!”
Revelation 21:5 He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." He said, "Write, for these words of God are faithful and true."
By this profound miracle Jesus sets the stage before those with ears to hear the truth. Israel was long in being prepared for a marriage feast with God, united with him by one Spirit, not one flesh, the wine of the law was good, but the best wine was yet to come with the outpouring of Holy Spirit into hearts of God's children, birth from the life of Christ upon his resurrection (new wine). Israel drink wine, wine the physical nation grew, for thousand's of years under the law, they celebrated the day when they would be delivered from all nations of the earth, waiting their delivery, the Messiah to come, they had a marriage arrangement with God in a covenant sealed by blood, but they had not known the bride groom the delivery of Israel.
John 1:41 He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah!" (which is, being interpreted, Christ{"Messiah" (Hebrew) and "Christ" (Greek) both mean "Anointed One".}).
John 4:25 The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah comes," (he who is called Christ). "When he has come, he will declare to us all things."
Luke 5:37 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.
Luke 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.
Luke 22:20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
They had not been released from the headship of the law their physical husbandly owner, he was dying, they were to be released from the power of his headship sin, for the power the law is sin, they were to be prepared as a nation to received all things new, like the new wine Jesus created from Holy Spirit for this marriage feast that even the director of the feast knew not where it came from? Jesus ministry was like the wind, blowing where its wants, not knowing were the wind came from or where is was going? All things were being created new, birth not from earth, but heaven, not seen by human eye.
John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew,{The word translated "anew" here and in John 3:7 (anothen) also means "again" and "from above".} he can't see the Kingdom of God." 3:4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" 3:5 Jesus answered, "Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can't enter into the Kingdom of God!
John.3:8 The wind{The same Greek word (pneuma) means wind, breath, and spirit.} blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." 3:9 Nicodemus answered him, "How can these things be?"
Rom. 7:1 Or don't you know, brothers{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."} (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives? 7:2 For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband. 7:3 So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man. 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.
1Cor.15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
Old (first) was being replaced with new (last), the first, Israel would be last, what did this mean? Those born of Spirit, and not the flesh, had their sins removed, by Christ the complete answer, which the law could not provide (being weak) for it was created for the wicked to punishes and condemn sin in our flesh, but it could not remove sin from our flesh because it was not the finish works of God. Christ was the finish works of God in redeeming mankind from sin. Christ life was sinless human life, not sinless animal life, which animal cannot sin against God's moral laws, for they are not created by God to be moral souls to keep his laws. Thus, making their blood only a temporary atonement for man sins.
Hebrews 10:4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
Hebrews 9:22 According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
2 Corinthians 13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.
Galatians 4:9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?
Hebrews 8:13 In that he says, "A new covenant," he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.
Now the bridegroom was standing at the door, he would open up a new and living hope saving the best wine (Holy Spirit) until last. He would be gentle and kind, husband, full of compassion and joy, once the old was completed, the best was yet to come filling each person heart born again with life giving waters of Holy Spirit they would be overflowing with everlasting joy, they would change from Christ mother ordering the Christ to get more wine, to Christ the new covenant saying: “What does this have to do with you or me?” I am not the old covenant, it has no hold on me, I am not in a marriage relationship with the law.” No! Christ was not a sinner under the headship of flesh and blood needing atonement for sin, by animal blood!
Acts 2:11 Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!" 2:12 They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, "What does this mean?" 2:13 Others, mocking, said, "They are filled with new wine." 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words. 2:15 For these aren't drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day{about 9:00 AM}. 2:16 But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel: 2:17 'It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. 2:18 Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.
Christ was the greater, he was under the headship of God himself, indwelling him as the light of the world, nothing old came from him, he was creating all things new, just as the Holy Spirit is never past living in death, Holy Spirit cannot live in sins of the past, all in Christ live, it is life which is Holy Spirit from God is life, now! When the old had been drink dry (the law) in full measure Christ would appear as creator of new wine from heaven (new covenant), and not earth, no one could says they knew how Christ created new wine from water? none could say they knew how they were born anew!
Revelation 21:1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.
Revelation 21:2 I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband.
Hebrews 12:24 to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant,{Jeremiah 31:31} and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.
Hebrews 10:20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Ephesians 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
Ephesians 4:24 and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
Here at the beginning of his ministry Christ shows those with eyes of Spirit and truth, how his ministry would go, preparing them for the reality of entering into God's Kingdom, not by the direction or will of man, but by the miracle of God's hand, into a new heavens and earth. All whom had faith in the power of Christ would know the truth and the truth, Christ Jesus, by his life would set them free.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
Luke 22:20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another.
***John 2:12 After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days. 2:13 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2:14 He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting. 2:15 He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables. 2:16 To those who sold the doves, he said, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace!" 2:17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will eat me up."{Psalm 69:9}
These verses above has confused many as how Christ could be angry and not sin? Others wonder, how could Christ be angry even violent towards others and be showing God's love, have you wondered these things?
Galatians 6:7 Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
First, let us dispel myths about God, and his words the bible. The theme from start to finish within the writings of your bibles is flesh against the Spirit, a violent war that started in the Garden of Eden, when Satan lied to Eve, and Adam her husband went along with the lie for his wife. This one act started all the violence in the world found in disease, and sickness death from sin. God declared a war with the sinful flesh, he says it will continue until all sinful flesh and its death ways indwelling sin is dead and gone from his Kingdom under heaven and earth. God has no friendship with the world ways of sin. God oppose such with violence if need be!
Malachi 2:16 For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously.
Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.{or, plunder it.}
1 John 2:15 Don't love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love isn't in him. 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
Mankind cannot accept this plain truth, it befuddles them into confusion, and darkness. Subsequently, they fall short of God's glory thus, imputing human feeling of sin into God's actions recorded for them in his word the bible.
James 1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; 1:20 for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God. 1:21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls{or, preserve your life.}. 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
Here Christ represents his Father perfectly in driving out the corrupt lust of man's flesh in making pure worship weak by the selling of goods. God dwell in the temple of the Jews upon earth he demanded perfection in all its services that perfection was meant only one way, and what was that way? By the pouring out of innocent blood of an animal to atone for being less than righteous, or perfect in God's judgments. In other words, shedding blood was no joke to God, he demand it be treated with respect by humans.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
Hebrews 10:29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
These merchant where presumptions thinking God did not inhabit the services of the temple, and the blood was just an physical ritual played down as ceremony. However, they were sadly mistaken as are many today thinking God does not care that he is somewhere away from mankind's affairs, and nothing is real like the phony religion promoted by people of this world.
Heb.12:18 For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm, 12:19 the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, 12:20 for they could not stand that which was commanded, "If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned{TR adds "or shot with an arrow" [see Exodus 19:12-13]};"{Exodus 19:12-13} 12:21 and so fearful was the appearance, that Moses said, "I am terrified and trembling."{Deuteronomy 9:19} 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, 12:23 to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 12:24 to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant,{Jeremiah 31:31} and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.
But Christ was indwelt with God! Yes, Christ was full of the life of God, the same God who demand truth and justice in his temple at the cost of death! Here we find the same evil that started mankind down a broad and spacious road into destruction the making light of God's truth. Which is the power of the fleshly mind under sin: “If we do some good, it justifies the evil we do!” this is the standard of the flesh under sin, the whole world has this standard and that is why all religion, government, and commerce descends lower and lower into corruption until it collapses.
James 3:11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water? 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water. 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom. 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
God worship and temple service does not collapse into mankind's justification before God acts to bring it up to his high standards made righteous by blood. Christ gave God's waring in no uncertain terms that the power in him by Holy Spirit would consume mankind and it evil acts.
Not one person stood against Christ in stopping him driving out the money changers that should tell any thinking person that this act was not done by a man, but the Spirit of God indwelling Christ Jesus, not one person could stand in his present. Christ was no less of a prophet of God than Elijah calling fire out of heaven upon false worshipers, Christ was no less of a king than David routing God's enemies, Christ was the greatest prophet, and the greatest of all God's kings. God was not going to let man diminish his authority and power by a human emotions based upon mankind misconception of His love.
Revelation 16:9 People were scorched with great heat, and people blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn't repent and give him glory.
God does not change, mankind does in condoning every evil under the Sun by a good motive in making money for profit. Don't be fooled God is love, and the power of his love is righteousness and justice to the perfect degree.
1 Timothy 1:15 The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
***John 2:18 The Jews therefore answered him, "What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?"
How does one prove they are of God to someone who is looking to murder you? This is a provocative question of course, but nonetheless that is precisely what was happening here with those questioning the Christ. These Jews had a mission, and that mission was fueled by the most noble of causes, not to let Christ corrupt the truth of their faith. Once that road was crossed it became a mission to trap Christ in his words to convicted him of sinning against their law. 1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
Proverbs 29:27 A dishonest man detests the righteous, and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.
In other words, mocking God by trapping the light of our world in word. How shameful and arrogant religious people can become! Next they ask Jesus to give them a sign, what sign would have made them believers? Many Christian's love the idea of giving the world a sign, thinking this will save them, this will covert them into believing, but is that how God converted them? If so, then that is what they will teach, and that will be the type of religion they will seek out, one that is always giving one sign after another so they can keep having faith.
Luke 11:29 When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, "This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah, the prophet.
Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
Christ did not give signs for a show, he did not make a circus out of what was a very serious matter, our eternal life. Christ was not impressed with men and their glory; those trying to impress others, will not do God's work. God signs, if given, are for God's glory, for a very specific purpose.
Proverbs 11:18 Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of Yahweh from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Yahweh drives.
So Christ gives these faulty finders not a sign, but a powerful answer. When they broke down the life of Christ into death, as that was their purpose to destroy him. God would raise his life up, in three, and half days that would be their sign. What they sought to kill by their laws, God would reject their judgments, and bring to life Christ declaring them unrighteous and his Son of God righteous, not a law breaker, but a perfect man that overcame the corruption of this world by God's good works.
Heb.1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 1:8 But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom. 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Rejection and shame would cover these Jews at the destruction of their beloved temple service, and glory and honor would go to God's real temple in the resurrected life of Christ Jesus. Here is a lesson for those seeking first place, here is a lesson for those thinking they have some knowledge of God making them the authority of God to judge others. One mistake in human calculation can cost us eternal life, for its is the least of Christ brothers the same judgment will be made at the end of this world!
Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Luke 14:8 "When you are invited by anyone to a marriage feast, don't sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him.
Matt.25:40 "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers{The word for "brothers" here may be also correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}, you did it to me.' 25:41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; 25:42 for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; 25:43 I was a stranger, and you didn't take me in; naked, and you didn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.' 25:44 "Then they will also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn't help you?' 25:45 "Then he will answer them, saying, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn't do it to one of the least of these, you didn't do it to me.' 25:46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
***John 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." 2:20 The Jews therefore said, "Forty-six years was this temple in building, and will you raise it up in three days?" 2:21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
There are but two points in the bible for all students of the bible to consider when reading it to stay on track, do you know what they are? Simply put, flesh and Spirit! Those of the flesh thinking, and do in physical terms. The physical is far more impressive, and important to them than the spiritual, or God's Spirit, this is Christ point here above.
Matthew 10:28 Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.{or, Hell.}
The Jews were physical they breathe, thought, and acted upon the physical. To place more importance upon one person life than their temple was a impossible thought for them. The physical is always about the greater good, one is not important compared to the greater good done for many. They could care less about the temple of Christ body that was meaningless to them! It was the physical temple that held importance, and power for the Jews, not a person body. Yes! Shockingly they understood so little about the God of life YHWH?
Matthew 18:2 Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the midst of them, 18:3 and said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 18:6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea.
Most Christian's today are not unlike the Jew's in being physical, they see the greater good from physical point of view like corporations, buildings, printing materials, than the temple of God, the body of Christ. They could careless about one person as the temple of God they put all emphasis upon the greater number, the good done for them by institutions of religions, what they produce in numbers for God, how little they know of the real God YHWH?
Matthew 18:10 See that you don't despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
The temple has always been life, sacred life, not a building, not even the earth, but holy sacred life in pure worship from life, not objects, or material things, but life itself created to worship God, the Father. The physical is only the mundane supporting the life God places into his children, Adam being the first child of God. In Adam was God sacred life giving him life, a life he was to passed on too all his children, not a building, or a book, or a material object, no! Adam was to give life, precious sacred life to his offspring.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Christ is God's temple, the place God resides, not earth, in a building, but in another life that is holy and precious that gives love for love that is pure worship undefiled from the corruption of the physical flesh that worship and gives itself to the physical things, not humans, by what human possess in ways of power, wealth, knowledge that is why the Jews and so many Christ don't understand the God of truth and Spirit.
John 10:10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd.{Isaiah 40:11; Ezekiel 34:11-12,15,22} The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
1Cor.13:1 If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing. 13:3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.
That is why they can't understand the judgment is based upon the treatment of the “least” of Christ brothers, not all are Christ brothers, not all are the temple of God. Not all are born again by God's Holy Spirit. So just as Christ was upon earth not known by the world so will Christ brothers be, which is why a person did not know if they had done good or bad to the temple of God on earth? Just as the Jews were fleshly putting all emphasis upon the physical so to will be Christian's in our day. Just like the Jews who could not understand Christ words about his body being the real temple of God, so to will be Christian's in the last days with fleshly judgments.
John 12:25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.
Heb.2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 2:11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}, 2:12 saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise."{Psalm 22:22}
Matt.25:39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?' 25:40 "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers{The word for "brothers" here may be also correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}, you did it to me.'
Human's are not important when weigh against governments, religions, or business, the love and worship given to these institutions are the truth for the flesh, not the temple of God found in the body of Christ. The flesh must feed upon the food of the flesh which is all things created by man's knowledge physically. The temple of God must feed upon the things of the Spirit which is the mind of Christ for his body members, the two do not mix, nor can the flesh know the things of the Spirit so how could they know the least of Christ brothers, by physical understanding and judgments?
1Cor..3:16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you? 3:17 If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God's temple is holy, which you are. 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness."{Job 5:13} 3:20 And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless."{Psalm 94:11} 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours 3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.
John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.
John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
***John.2:22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Have you as a student of the bible noted the demarcation of understanding the apostles of Christ had, while Christ was in the flesh upon earth in teaching them, compared to when he was raised in the Spirit? Yes, it is stunning, and dramatic, difference from darkness into light, from thick headed to scholars of the scriptures, from men of fleshly thinking, into pillars in support of the truth.
John 16:13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
From years of intimate association with Christ, first hand, to people who themselves converted someone to a Christianity in just a few days of less! What indeed happen? They were doing greater works than Christ if you really understand, but how? Christ is the light of this world, but that light is not known by man's will, it must come from above by God's will through Holy Spirit to be known, in this Holy Spirit, is found the truth, and that is what happen?
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."
The apostle of Christ received from above the Holy Spirit they no were no longer taught by a person (Christ) having Holy Spirit, but they themselves were anointed with Holy Spirit indwelling them teaching them the truth. Now they did greater works than Christ but how? Here we stumble upon the stumbling block for those still in their flesh, being taught by some person or their bibles having Holy Spirit. They think the act of Christ doing miracles is the works they must match in do greater works than Christ. In other words, a competition, to prove they are a Christian's but that is not the greater of more powerful works his disciple were entrusted with!
Acts 2:33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.
Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The greater works are simply Christ while on earth did not give a person Holy Spirit anointing into a child of God they must wait God's timing, even though they had years of bible training they could not make disciples with Holy Spirit, why? Because Christ had not yet died being resurrected into heaven so the Holy Spirit could be poured out upon his disciples. But his disciple after Christ death could make disciple by the power of God's Holy Spirit doing a greater work than Christ performed upon earth, greater than John the Baptist every done on earth for mankind and what was that?
John 7:39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn't yet glorified.
1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
It was a rebirth from one creation into a new creation under the Sun, the birth of a child of God by Spirit, never done before or understood by flesh and blood. Here is the greater works done as Christ told his disciple they would do, not a few anointed, but many profound and everlasting miracles of son ship for Jews and Gentiles alike in making discipline immediately as son's of God by Holy Spirit. Yes, here is why we see such a profound demarcation of light and darkness upon the outpouring of Holy Spirit going from men of flesh fighting with each other, men of flesh, living in fear and judgment towards each other, and even the Christ to the most beautiful foundation every laid upon earth the living stones of apostles of the new Jerusalem above.
1 Corinthians 3:12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble;
1 Peter 2:5 You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:19 The foundations of the city's wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire{or, lapis lazuli}; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;
***John.2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did. 2:24 But Jesus didn't trust himself to them, because he knew everyone, 2:25 and because he didn't need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
What is in man that Christ knew, so that he would not entrust himself to anyone? Sin, a pattern of continue death from birth into grave, a pattern which repeats itself in each generation, a pattern of birth then striving to gain some standing with other human, into death. It is a lust, a drive, much like an animal in a cage running on a wheel never getting to the other end, so goes the pattern before and after us in this life!
Ecclesiastes 2:22 For what has a man of all his labor, and of the striving of his heart, in which he labors under the sun?
Ecclesiastes 4:4 Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man's neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.
This pattern could not be changed by human, or God would not of needed to send us his son from above. God did not send us his son from below, from the pattern of sin and death found in all humans, he sent us a new creation, conceived from above, without death, freed from death/sins, which causes the pattern of thinking found in all humans. If Christ entrusted himself to human under death, and their thinking he would corrupted the truth we must have of the Father, he could not of given us a perfect life free of yeast, so we might live by his life.
1 Corinthians 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."
1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Christ knew there was no dwelling of light with darkness, he knew as his Father knew darkness would kill the light, for its must, because it pattern of thinking is death, and destruction, believing life comes from such an illusion. All that Christ taught would be taken by darkness brought into a pattern of death, creating a substitute kingdom on earth, a yeast kingdom, a counterfeit kingdom of God. Matthew 13:33 He spoke another parable to them. "The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures{literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel} of meal, until it was all leavened."
Christ could not entrust himself into that pattern before he completed the will of his Father breaking the bondage of death, and the power of sin, by judgments of death mankind all practice as their food for this life leading to death. Yes, the food for this life is the judgments of death we pass on to each generation, judgments for the wicked to protect this life, judgments found in each day of our lives, in a world of darkness, where evil is done on every level, even when we are trying to do good for others.
Rom.7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.
John 3:17 For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
Judgments created from a mind of sin and death, darkness, we call light. An illusion we are all living in, thinking life comes from death mind and thoughts, an illusion Christ could not entrust himself too. Christ did not come to judge what was dead, not death as we human think at the grave, but death in living this life, death, to all eternal life God's mind thinks. Death through the fleshly minds thinking in laws for sinner which mind of the flesh believes bring life. This mind is dead in Christ, in Christ mind, is the laws of life, the laws of light, laws that can only give life.
1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
Rom. 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God. 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death. 7:6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
Can man know what they are, can mankind no the light from death, from the pattern of thinking from the flesh mind they are born into, no! If Christ for a moment gave way to the pattern of death found in all sinners, we could never know the light. For the law did not change pattern of death in our fleshly minds, it judged them by laws for sinners, which are laws of death. It convicted each and every human on earth of being dead to God, and his life, in death.
Romans 5:21 that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.
Christ came to give us life, to teach us light, to recreated us from a mind of death into the wonderful light of his mind, where the law of love is life, and light. God did not entrust mankind with the new law of love, because darkness corrupts the light, yeast corrupts the truth of God's mind of life, found in Christ Jesus. God rightfully brought us from above a new creation, Christ Jesus without yeast of sinful thought, where we can feed on life, and understand the saying of life.
John 3:31 He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the Earth belongs to the Earth, and speaks of the Earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
John 8:23 He said to them, "You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.
Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Ephesians 1:21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.
Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.

The book of John
Chapter 2
Acts 2:11 Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!" 2:12 They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, "What does this mean?"
2:13 Others, mocking, said, "They are filled with new wine."
2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
Hebrews 10:20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Ephesians 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
***John 2:12 After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days. 2:13 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2:14 He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
2:15 He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables. 2:16 To those who sold the doves, he said, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace!" 2:17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will eat me up."{Psalm 69:9}
Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.{or, plunder it.}
1 John 2:15 Don't love the world, neither the things that are in the world.
Heb.12:18 For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm, 12:19 the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, 12:20 for they could not stand that which was commanded, "If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned{TR adds "or shot with an arrow" [see Exodus 19:12-13]};"{Exodus 19:12-13} 12:21 and so fearful was the appearance, that Moses said, "I am terrified and trembling."{Deuteronomy 9:19}
12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, 12:23 to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 12:24 to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant,{Jeremiah 31:31} and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.
How does one prove they are of God to someone who is looking to murder you? This is a provocative question of course, but nonetheless that is precisely what was happening here with those questioning the Christ. These Jews had a mission, and that mission was fueled by the most noble of causes, not to let Christ corrupt the truth of their faith. Once that road was crossed it became a mission to trap Christ in his words to convicted him of sinning against their law. 1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
Matt.25:40 "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers{The word for "brothers" here may be also correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}, you did it to me.' 25:41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;
25:42 for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; 25:43 I was a stranger, and you didn't take me in; naked, and you didn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.' 25:44 "Then they will also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn't help you?' 25:45 "Then he will answer them, saying, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn't do it to one of the least of these, you didn't do it to me.'
25:46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
Matthew 10:28 Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.{or, Hell.}
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
Heb.2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
2:11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."},
2:12 saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise."{Psalm 22:22}
Matt.25:39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
25:40 "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers{The word for "brothers" here may be also correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}, you did it to me.'
3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness."{Job 5:13}
3:20 And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless."{Psalm 94:11} 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men.
1 Corinthians 3:12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble;
1 Peter 2:5 You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:19 The foundations of the city's wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire{or, lapis lazuli}; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;
1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
