***1Thess.5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
We as Christian's have two points we can go to here, 1.) legally dissecting Paul's words as an attorney of law does, or 2.) Understanding them in context to all the holy writings in faith? Why could Paul says to the brothers and sisters at his time, they needed no one to write them about the time of the end?
2Thess.2:1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you 2:2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come.
Many season have came and went since Paul's words here, let be honest; basic premise of Christianity, truth, which is God's children are born of truth and love the truth, Christ Jesus! Finding there are many letters written during the absent of our Lord, letters claiming times and seasons. Moreover, presently the internet and religion are a prolific field of weeds with declaration of end time prophecy instructing us how to know the times and season of Christ as coming from God.
Matthew 24:26 If therefore they tell you, 'Behold, he is in the wilderness,' don't go out; 'Behold, he is in the inner chambers,' don't believe it.
Matthew 16:25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
But shockingly Paul states just the opposite, he says; “we have no need of anyone to write us about the seasons and times”, why? Well, for one, it had already been written by Holy Spirit, and two, prophecy of Christ about the destruction of God's people, and its temple, the single greatest event ever in the history of mankind at Paul's time would shortly take place, and for us has taken place in 70CE, 2000 years ago! Which is the main point of Paul's words. However there is more found in Paul's words based upon the scriptures, and what is that?
1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
In context, who was Paul speaking to here? He was speaking to the body of Christ, was the body of Christ in darkness, or light? If they were in the body of Christ, God knows, and no man? Then they were in Christ Jesus the "light". They were the temple of the living God, what letter could teach them something outside of the body of Christ Jesus the light,having the mind of God? None! Doing so would mean going out of Christ into darkness, into the wilderness away from the truth, which is the Christ and his mind. It would mean going out from where the eagles gathers for food, the unleavened bread of Christ, would it not? Into darkness of human wisdom (yeast) of the world and filling ones belly with yeast bread the unrighteousness of human intellect. It would mean being an unfaithful slave promoting our own mind, and not the mind of Christ where our righteousness and direction come from (by Holy Spirit free of the lie), who would do that unless they are from another source, and not the Christ the light?
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
***1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don't belong to the night, nor to darkness.
1Cor.1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 1:31 that, according as it is written, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord."{Jeremiah 9:24}
The body feeds the body, this is why anointed followers of Christ need no one to teach them, but was that's Paul point here, yes! But still there is more, and what is that? God had created his children in love, does a perfect Father hand a child a serpent when requesting information from a good Father? No! Who would tell such a lie? Darkness or light? Faith is not contention now is it? Faith is not distrust, now is it? Is Faith a ruthless self-survival where each man is for themselves, is that the Christianity that you know?
Eph.5:29 For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; 5:30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. 5:31 "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh."{Genesis 2:24} 5:32 This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.
1 John 2:9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now.
1 John 2:10 He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.
James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
We rest in God, and his promises, or we live in judgment, and fear believing the lie that we must have perfect knowledge of hidden times and seasons for self-survival, which we teach others so they depend upon our super special relationship with God as his chosen channel for us to distributed the information of salvation to them! Is this the Christianity you believe in an teach? Are you an apostle of Christ, one of the chosen ones? The foundation Christ built his Kingdom upon? Have you noted, not since Christ apostles there has not been new holy writings that God and Christ has authorized as written by Holy Spirit, why do you think that is?
Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
2 Peter 1:19 We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the morning star arises in your hearts:
2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation.
2 Peter 1:21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
Yet, we find throughout this same two thousand's years a profound number of people claiming the authority of the apostles of Christ promoting their interpretation of times and seasons as infallible truths. Yet, not one utterance by letter has came true, or proven inspired. However they have all shown their fruits; evilness in being willing to misleading others searching for truth in Christ into the destruction of their faith by making salvation depended upon man's arm and not the arm of God!
Psalms 77:15 You have redeemed your people with your arm, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
John 12:25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says Yahweh: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.
No one knows the time of Christ returns, but the body of Christ whom must wait faithfully in faith trusting in the life of Christ indwelling them as the sure seal of eternal life. It is the Spirit that is truth, not a letter, or a document, proclaiming the times and seasons by someone professing to be a body member of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.
1 John 5:6 This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
Revelation 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.
Those of the body of Christ are in life, the eternal life of Christ indwelling them as part of his life by Spirit, which is not future according to some date man contrives. They have received the assurance of life by Holy Spirit conceived in them, provided they walk in faith, and love. They are not running out of Christ into another life through some message that excites the flesh into fear of the things coming upon the earth, as though this life is all there is! They have received a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, they are not preparing themselves for the day of persecution, the Holy Spirit will do that if need be. They are walking in the one true prophets words, Christ Jesus, as the head of the body, as he speaks in Spirit and truth to those born anew putting faith in him as their owner, and protector.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
Hebrews 13:6 So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"{Psalm 118:6-7}
Romans 8:15 For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba{Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven.}! Father!"
They are not an unfaithful slave speaking as the head of the body by not waiting upon the master, instead beating other slaves verbally abusing them because they are faithfully teaching only Christ words as truth, while waiting his return by giving them the direction by Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 4:5 For we don't preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake;
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man doesn't love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed{Greek: anathema.}. Come, Lord!{Aramaic: Maranatha!}
***1Thess.5:2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
What should God's anointed know? What simple conclusions should they be able to draw by the Holy Spirit, which Spirit teaches them all things needed for this life, and the one to come? Well, such is not a trick question, if one is attached to a body with a brain it should be no mystery that the member body parts of that body be appraised of the brain function within the same body, should it not?
2 Corinthians 13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
But here many for thousand's of years claiming to be the bride of Christ have poured themselves over Paul words in this chapter of Thessalonians dissecting each word, and phrase, as if they didn't know anything from God's Spirit until some leader of their faith gives them a message, a letter to understand what Paul stated what we should know? Christ would come as a thief, but they were son's of light! Thieves strike at night, but they were son of light, seem not too difficult?
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
If they were of the body that was coming, lets see now? Of the same Spirit, having the light in dwelling them what was all the worry and fuss over? Wasn't having faith in Christ enough? Was Christ tricking them? This is a good question? But why would Christ trick them? Well, if they had become works of law Christian's, living in fear of judgment because they weren't real sure they had done enough self-works, study enough, listen close enough, attended enough meetings, been kind enough, preached enough, than indeed they would be very worried if the day would over taken them like a thief at night because they were in darkness!
Romans 9:32 Why? Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
1 John 4:20 If a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
However, if they were in the body of Christ loved and cherished by the gift of God's unmerited kindness walking in love and faith they could "rest" in faith knowing nothing was lacking for God's anointed in love and truth. But the problem was you see; like so many works of law Christian's faith is not enough, works of law to them is more reasonable, for a person that imputes evil to God and his promises. They judge by flesh, and make man judgment towards others in their flesh their religion, because they have no faith in God's love. They have faith in themselves, in comparing their works against someone else fleshly works, a person, or a religious group, some rule of the group, in keeping some of the commandment believing they will gain merit with God and man. Deceiving themselves they are doing a better job in keeping a rules, which removes their sins, making the righteous, and cleaner than other sinful human's!
1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.
Moreover, they love being the first in all things revealing some new light, and/or truth, they love fighting over biblical doctrine, and words of the bible so they can build up their flesh in defeating others proving once again they have gained merit with God. But the body of Christ lives in faith, knowing God is perfect in good gifts to his children, they know God will not handed them a serpent, such deception is from evil men of the flesh claiming they know God.
Matt.7:9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
James 4:2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask.
The Spirit teaching God's children is not of the works of flesh, so it cannot feed the power of flesh and its boasting, the two are opposed as light is to darkness, God Spirit is refreshing bring peace and rest to the evil lust of the flesh by killing it in God's sight. The Spirit of God does not excite the flesh and its works in battles with other flesh, it does not create fear of losing this life, by losing a word war. Instead it gives us Christ power by Christ indwelling us with truth, hope, love, and faith. This power is from above not in the flesh shown in wisdom and a quiet mild spirit which is of great value in the eyes of God. It lets a real Christian's live a quiet peaceful life, without stirring up the pot of contention of the flesh with ones neighbor, it looks after widows and orphans in their tribulation, nor does it boast in the flesh by winning a battle over doctrine.
James 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. 3:11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water? 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water. 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom. 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
2Pet.3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 3:11 Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness.
***1Thess.5:3 For when they are saying, "Peace and safety," then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
Words can be misleading, words can be very powerful to where a person can repeat them over and over again out of fear thinking they are pleasing to God by word patterns. Shocking as this is to those worshiping in Spirit and truth, some of them have also fallen into a pattern of words the apostle Paul states here above - for more than two thousand's years?
Ecclesiastes 5:2 Don't be rash with your mouth, and don't let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and you on earth. Therefore let your words be few.
Ecclesiastes 5:3 For as a dream comes with a multitude of cares, so a fool's speech with a multitude of words.
Yes, looking for world leaders to say Peace and safety”, “Peace and security”. Christian's listen very carefully at world leaders if they put this pattern of word together thinking they are a marked generation that will see Christ coming? But truth does not lie, the truth is these words have been echoed by every generation since Christ? But aren't these the magic words that brings the end? So how come the end hasn't come? So why if these words are so special having the magical power to make Christ come?
Proverbs 30:6 Don't you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
Isaiah 48:5 therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I showed it to you; lest you should say, My idol has done them, and my engraved image, and my molten image, has commanded them.
Its like serving an idol saying words in some chant thinking we are going to make things happen with the living God? Has God failed? No these words have been said correctly, in perfect prophecy that befell Jerusalem in 70CE! History records it, and testify perfectly to the Jews saying these words, boasting that the Roman empire withdrew from their city, thinking God had stood in for them? They started repeating these same words, four years later the Roman's returned and destroyed the entire city, and the worship of their temple just as Christ had perfectly predicted.
Luke 17:20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, he answered them, "The Kingdom of God doesn't come with observation; 17:21 neither will they say, 'Look, here!' or, 'Look, there!' for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."
Two thousand's years later this explanation does not satisfy most Christian's they are not shy about using these words in predicting the end of their world, but at the same time we have a foolish past of ever generation making the same mistake? Christ will come, at God's timing, he will come as a thief, he has already came to his congregation indwelt with his life, that is, his anointed followers, simply because they are part of his life, and members of his body. They have nothing to fear or flee too! They are saved as Christ told them they were saved, and none would perish.
John 10:10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
It is the world that will be caught off guard and even if they weren't eternal life does not come from finding a pattern of words or some date. Eternal life comes in a pattern any honest Christian's can find in their bibles of loving our heavenly Father just as Christ set pattern for us, in everything he did in life on earth. No mystery in Paul's words, only mystery and distrust for those making God into a idol that they can pleased in their own minds and hearts by false worship.
John 12:36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light." Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.
Matthew 11:25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
Devotion to words, idols, object, groups, people, place,or things has nothing to do with worshiping in Spirit and truth, which is, the person of Jesus Christ for all Christian's, if one cannot believe his words, than they will make an idol to please their own distrustful flesh that cannot be saved, in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
Matt.7:8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. 7:9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Rom.8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be. 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God. 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
***1Thess.5:4 But you, brothers, aren't in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
Many Christian's have been taught and think light come from their efforts in studying God's word the bible. They further believe, though not stated by them, they supply themselves oil from God by their works in studying God's word the bible, but they are sadly mistaking, even grossly so!
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.
Christ is the light, not them, Christian's are vessel of the life of Christ which is the light in them, and the oil in them. The flesh of sin is darkness and cannot know the light of Christ. It is the self-will of our flesh that puts us into darkness where the day of the Lord overtakes all flesh caught in a snare. Christian's have put themselves at the center of God's will and purposes by the mind of the flesh when they think they are the light instead of being filled with light of Christ by him indwelling them by faith.
2 Corinthians 4:6 seeing it is God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness,"{Genesis 1:3} who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Romans 2:19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light to those who are in darkness.
There is no self-salvation found in mankind's flesh. There is one name given among men for salvation, and none other, Christ Jesus, the light of our world, and the will of God for those a part of his life. Now with that thought in mind, we can understand Paul's words above, but if we wander into the fleshly mind lusting for knowledge by legal analysis of Spirit and truth words; losing the originality from God's Holy Spirit, which bore Paul along, not by his fleshly will, or thoughts, but God's as his creator. We will come up short, and in death where the day of Lord takes us as a thief because salvation we believe comes from our flesh and its thinking is a profound thief we all like and love.
John 11:10 But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn't in him."
John 3:20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn't come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
Rom.7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.
Jer.17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? 17:10 I, Yahweh, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
The light comes from above, and is given us freely by God's love, light does not come from mankind's intellect, and that is the reason for some two thousand's years, and in every generation mankind has gotten the coming of the Lord wrong! Emphatically wrong each and every time, because they were not the light or the oil. They were just as they are flesh and blood reading the bible thinking they are the light, and oil of God word by their studying.
Isaiah 40:5 The glory of Yahweh shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it."
Daniel 2:19 Then was the secret revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel 2:30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.
Matthew 11:25 At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
Matthew 16:17 Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Flesh is not humble as Christ who was filled with the life of his Father YHWH on earth whom did nothing from his own originality, not even private interpretation of end time prophecy. Christ did not speak from his own will, or originality, and that is why for some two-thousand's years boasters in proud flesh has filled that vacuum with blasphemy discrediting the name of God on earth by men, and woman claiming to speak the Spirit of God to others. They have no fear of being wrong or adding to God's word the bible because they are thief's that is their nature, and their job because they don't understand the flesh lusting against the Spirit.
Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness.
Jude 1:8 Yet in like manner these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings. 1:9 But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you!" 1:10 But these speak evil of whatever things they don't know. What they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, they are destroyed in these things. 1:11 Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah's rebellion.
Flesh is presumptuous, it take the ground of the wheat, its takes the spirit truth of God Spirit and claims them as discovered by them, and they make themselves the giver of them to others, but they are in darkness taking by the lust of their fleshly mind alienated from the light of Christ and his oil. They are foolish slaves feeling entitled, equal as it were to Christ by God's own kindness given freely to all. They stay in the proud flesh building a name, glorified by their food and folder in feeding others to maintain some power, recognition from flesh, but they are a thief and in darkness, not having the light.
Eph.2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 2:5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 2:7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 2:9 not of works, that no one would boast. 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
They have by their presumptuousness taken the power of Holy Spirit and made it into the power of their wonderful goodness in saving others by their great understanding of God's word.
Philip. 2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus, 2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
Salvation has come, it has been given to each one of Christ body members, it not based upon knowledge of the end times, or upon some pursuit of hidden knowledge of the wicked conspiracy of Satan world governments. No! It is depended upon the one thing that cannot change, God, and his promise of eternal life if we believe in Christ. But this is beneath the proud flesh making for itself a name among flesh as important. The flesh teaches just as the Devil taught the Father of the lie that salvation depends upon mankind's knowledge of hidden truth, God has wickedly not give us! Yes, they teach God is handing his own children a violent serpent to bit them when asking for a fish. They project their own evil heart as God's heart into all they teach calling its faith, faith in what salvation? By what name? The flesh, which flesh is of no value at all to salvation!
John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.
John 5:24 "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
John 5:39 "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. 5:40 Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.
***1Thess.5:5 You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don't belong to the night, nor to darkness, 5:6 so then let's not sleep, as the rest do, but let's watch and be sober.
There is a natural cycle for human life, we must sleep to live, but what of the life of Christ whom now exist as immortal, and incorruptible life, does his cycle of life require physical sleep for him to maintain life?
2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
Subsequently, the apostle Paul cannot be speaking of our life in the physical sense which requiring us to follow the cycle of life, but rather something beyond our personal abilities, into the life of Christ which is not from the power of our flesh.
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we don't wage war according to the flesh;
Many well meaning Christian's read here Paul's words and honestly believe the revelation of truth, that is, about the end of our world depend upon their person abilities to stay awake, find the truth through various means of research than be responsible in distributing that information to our world so it will not perish at the coming of our Lord.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
Yet here we find Paul stating a simple truth that none of us can do in our flesh, which is, we must stay awake at all time, never sleeping as the cycle of life requires we must, or die! Here is a fundamental mistake we all make. When one of the apostles writes about our relationship with each other, and Christ they start with a fundamental truth which must be carried through from start to finish in the Greek scriptures, and if we don't we become light and darkness swing small and wide in our flesh, which is like a shadow under a tree when the Sun pass over head, always changing from minute to minute.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
So what is that core fundamental truth? We did not born again ourselves, we were beyond human hope of that every happening by our personal will or abilities. Hence, we were asks from day one of becoming a born again Christian's to walk upon water at the command of another, not of ourselves. Subsequently, that is Paul's premise and every other person writing in the Greek scriptures. In other words, because a person is born again, by an act of God, and not man why would any Christian think at any point they can put themselves into the light, or distribute the light by self-well, self-revelation to others, or it depends upon them to do a physical act within a spirit body to stay in the light or truth?
Ephesians 6:12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Colossians 2:23 Which things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but aren't of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This is the power Christ stripped from all flesh do you understand this fundamental teaching of your bible. Christ stripped all judgments of the fleshed power away from Satan to control his body members in his dying for our sins. We are not held captive to flesh any longer that means its rules, laws, by its fleshly judgments, or anything upon this earth. We need not its tools to be in the light, because we haven't put ourselves in the light by the will of our flesh, or by the power of our flesh, nor the righteousness of our flesh, we are in Christ because of faith by his God's power through the Spirit!
Romans 14:4 Who are you who judge another's servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand, for God has power to make him stand.
1 Corinthians 2:4 My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
1 Corinthians 6:12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.
To assume the posture of self-survive in thinking like the world, in shake waking ourselves by self-will, until sleep deprivation set in, and we are delirious in fear and hallucination means we must by our own will stay in Christ a spirit person we cannot put ourselves in by any act of our flesh, no more so than Peter could walk upon the water by the power in his flesh. We must stay awake by the light, Christ Jesus, we do not stay awake by judgment of sinful flesh that is dead in Christ. Those teaching strong measure by a fleshly mind in fear of death by harsh treatment of the flesh in meetings attendance, bible studies, and works of law in preaching are self-survivalist, not in Christ by faith in the power of God revealing truth by His Spirit as promised by a God whom cannot lie or changes.
Ephesians 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might.
Ephesians 3:7 of which I was made a servant, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.
Ephesians 3:16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
***1Thess.5:7 For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night. 5:8 But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
Metaphorically the apostle Paul uses drunkenness connected with darkness, but many do drink during the day, and sometimes all day and night, so why does he use night as being drunk time?
Psalms 11:2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
Psalms 18:28 For you will light my lamp, Yahweh. My God will light up my darkness.
1 John 2:8 Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shines.
First are we talking about drunkenness that impairs the mind, or spiritual drunkenness? Moreover, can a person be spiritually drunk and think themselves in the light, and what light does Paul speak to here? The light, is the Christ, and he was speaking specifically to brothers of Christ whom are born again into the life of Christ Jesus, and who also have his light shining in them.
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don't tell the truth.
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Now in this context being Paul was speaking about reports of Christ coming at a certain time, we find Paul stating the truth, which is exactly what? If a person in the light, that is, in Christ as the light how can a report coming from darkness and a drunk shake a person faith? Furthermore, why would the flesh be involved in the first place, isn't the flesh dead in Christ? So why would any brother of Christ be in the darkness and a quandary over Christ coming, not unless, they were in the dark thinking they were in the light?
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don't belong to the night, nor to darkness.
In other words, let keep this simple, light is not darkness, those in Christ should be given the truth, it should not be hidden from them through a mystic calculation of numbers and scriptures if they are part of Christ Jesus life which is the light. Does not the brain on our own body communicate with our hand, or does it secretly hid information for the hand so it must be in a quandary as to what its next move?
John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
John 15:26 "When the Counselor{Greek Parakletos: Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, and Comfortor.} has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
So how had these brothers and sisters come to such a lack of faith in Christ being their head? By works of law! Yes! As shocking and difficult as that is to the fleshly mind to understand it is the truth. When a brother or sister in Christ thinks by their personal actions in studying or any other matter they are entitled to the truth in Christ they will find darkness and suspicion creating distrust and not faith in God love. When a person think by some special gift of knowledge they are entitled to a hidden truth, they will be deceived as Eve was by the same power of flattery.
John 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Matthew 19:16 Behold, one came to him and said, "Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" 19:17 He said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
This is Paul point if your in the light than you must at least rest in Christ merit his works, his goodness to feed and cherish the body he paid for with his very life. If one can't get passed themselves thinking they are in Christ by some work they are doing, they are fooled into darkness, drunk on the works of flesh like the world that will not know the day or the hour Christ is coming overtaking them as a thief because they are not his, nor do they love, or no the love of God has for his children.
Matthew 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered them, "Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith, and don't doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it would be done.
Romans 9:32 Why? Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'{Deuteronomy 30:12} (that is, to bring Christ down);
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;"{Deuteronomy 30:14} that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
Matthew 13:15 for this people's heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and should turn again; and I would heal them.'{Isaiah 6:9-10}
***1Thess.5:9 For God didn't appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 5:10 who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 5:11 Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
What are we to say? If the Lord is for us whom can stand against us? Paul does what so many Christian's can't seem do today without causing a panic in their flesh and in others, and what is that? He tells the truth! Are God's children appointed for wrath? Many teach God's children are just hanging by a thread, waiting to be cut off by YHWH. Yes, waiting for the right moment if they aren't constantly looking for the end of the world; if they aren't digging through every bit of information from the internet or wherever the Lord's day will over take them in his wrath. Those teaching such falsehoods hate to admit it, they are self-survivalist living in fear and teaching out of fear that God has a great lack of love for this children.
But the apostle Paul ask us a question, not if it was true or not, but if we believe in God's love, our we appointed to wrath? So who are under God's wrath when God sent his Son to remove our wrath? Does the day of the Lord over take his own body members as though there is a separate salvation one they must earned by through some sort of prophesy, living in fear that God would trick them, and Christ being their head, would destroy his own body, or are they in a religion or trained by a religion that does that?
Eph.5:24 But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; 5:26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, 5:27 that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 5:28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. 5:29 For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly.
Faith takes the power away from our flesh, it deflates it, and puts its fears to death. Faith does not promote fear, and distrust now does it? Faith is not a wicked thing, it not a trickster, so why all the fuse over prophesy? It is a lack of faith making the person wicked not those that trust in the Lord that he will not keep his promises and hand us a serpent instead of a fish. What if a body member sleeps, will that body member be destroyed by Christ, not according to the apostle Paul, why? Because we are appointed not by our flesh, or our good works, or our prophesy we are appointed to live with Christ, by God's choosing before we had done anything good or bad!
2 Corinthians 1:17 When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the "Yes, yes" and the "No, no?"
So instead promoting fear, which is always the outcome, if a person does not believe the latest prophesy, instead let us build each other up in faith, why don't we do as told? promote faith and truth in Christ; taking Christ statements as truth that if we believe in him we have eternal life. Why promote something of the flesh, that does all in its power, in every way to kill us in Christ to his spirit. Why don't we learn to walk on water not doubting at all God is good, and Christ has saved us, not some prophesy of the end days. If we live in the world and love the things of this world than prophesy is our ticket to make changes fast at the last minute so we can get into the door, but if we are in faith we are always in the door just as Christ has promised and cannot lie, who do you chose to believe?
John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture. Luke 21:18 And not a hair of your head will perish.
John 3:15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
***1Thess.5:12 But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you, 5:13 and to respect and honor them in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
In a world of position earned by some merit many Christian's assume a person in a position with a religious title over them, but that not what the apostle Paul was stating here. First, if a person belongs to Christ they are not in competition with their own body members! Can you imagine your hand on your body competing with your ear? What is the point?
1 Corinthians 12:20 But now they are many members, but one body.
In other words, there is no point when the ear is a gift to the whole body, correct? But what is of far greater consequence is when a body member doesn't even know who is in his body, let alone know who is the head of his body? So many today work for something, like and organization, or a religious group, gaining power and position having hundreds even thousand's of people under them, but are they part of Christ Jesus body members or have they a title of given them by men?
1 Corinthians 12:25 that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.
Truth is not a flashing sign, it is found in faith, a faith between us and God YHWH, we should at least know those that have been instrumental in leading us to Christ and helping us to stay in Christ for God's glory. Shouldn't we appreciate them as we ourselves want to be appreciated. We are not talking about flattering words, or idolization, but simple kindness and loving appreciation for those in Christ with us.
1 Corinthians 13:3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.
Matt.7:7 "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. 7:8 For everyone who asks receives. 7:12 Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
We are to be thankful, how can we be at peace if we reject the hand bring food to our mouth. We reject false brothers, we reject self-worship, or those that take Christ position, but we don't reject our own members of our bodies. If we cannot tell the difference perhaps we need to ask, certain Christ is not wicked handing us a serpent when requesting fish, for God's wisdom.
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
1Cor. 3:1 Brothers, I couldn't speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ. 3:2 I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren't yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready, 3:3 for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren't you fleshly, and don't you walk in the ways of men? 3:4 For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," aren't you fleshly? 3:5 Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed; and each as the Lord gave to him? 3:6 I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 3:8 Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's farming, God's building.
^^^1Thess.5:14 We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all. 5:15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.
We must always remember that context of the scriptures are vital for our understanding and proper interpretation of them. The context here in 1 Thessalonians the fifth chapter is what? About prophecy, what type of prophecy? End days prophecy; the coming of our Lord. Many were being shaken by dire warning coming from body members in Christ, or a least thinking they were in Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come.
These warning are like we have seen throughout Christianity history, life and death warning and those making them expect others to believe them and/or be called evil for not! In other words, putting a person in an unobtainable position, where believing them goes against the very Spirit indwelling them “Christ” by a brother claiming to be in Christ causing division, hate, and jealousy within the congregation. Paul does not say prophesy is evil, but he does warning that the coming of our Lord is to be known by the son's of light and having faith in God that it would not over take us. Subsequently, not being shaken, how can one be shaken having received the kingdom of Christ that can't be shaken?
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
Now he turns his attention after this correction to what we should be doing instead of making the next prophesy of end time dates, and the coming of our Lord the enter theme of preaching and every thing a Christian's is talking about and thinking about, which is walking in love towards one another.
John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
1 John 4:20 If a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
Let us follow after that which is good? Is God good or evil? That is the starting point, our individual making other body members evil for not believing and end time prophesy judging them with evil motives? Is God evil, it he tricking us? Is he making us go it alone? If a person feels this way than self-survival is easy to accept from the Devil.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
But if God is good, and has proven so by sending us his son Christ Jesus to indwell us freeing us from sin and making us his children than why would he impute evil to us catching us off guard to be destroy by the same person that dwells in us by Holy Spirit Christ Jesus? Now if Christ actually dwells in us, how could we imputing evil to a brother in the same body?
James 3:8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God. 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
Something is deeply and profound wrong with those making their interpretation of end times prophecy a reason for division and hate towards those rejecting them as coming from flesh causing fear and confusion in body members. It is the Spirit that gives life, it does not give confusion and fear. Have these forgotten the order of the Holy Spirit in peace, wisdom and love?
1 Corinthians 14:33 for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. As in all the assemblies of the saints,
James 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. 1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
***1Thess.5:16 Rejoice always.
Some people see Christianity as a competition, they read Paul's words here, and act like they rejoice always, than compare themselves letting you know that they are better, closer to God because they are rejoicing always in the Lord! They keep score reminding you your not as good, you have a problem because your not rejoicing like them and their bubbly personality!
Proverbs 20:6 Many men claim to be men of unfailing love, but who can find a faithful man?
Such become an irritant like a clashing cymbal in your ear. Christ groan in his spirit, he sighed in his spirit, and wept blood, was he not rejoicing? Christ never sinned! Subsequently, one should see quickly that context and balance is everything in reading the scripture, letting your reasonableness be know to all men. Is the truth a lie? Is it an act? Is it real, or is truth fair, justice and compassionate?
James 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
The goal, the hope, the help we need is to rejoice in truth and Spirit, it should be our aim to rejoice because we are in the Spirit of Christ, where the fruits of Holy Spirit are grown without sin. It is the place we walk in love, it is the personality we have been so wonderfully given not by our goodness, but of God's. Yes, we have been given from above a new personality one found in the head of the body , Christ, Christ personality. In that help, in that love beyond are fallen flesh we can rejoice always, we can be free from the evil of our thoughts and flesh.
Rom.12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. 12:3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. 12:4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don't have the same function, 12:5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 12:6 Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
Spirit and truth is not act, its not something we do like a legalist whom obeys a law thinking that if he plies himself long enough it will become him. Truth and Spirit is given freely, it is a gift from God too us as his children, not a competition for boasting in our flesh, for there is no flesh in Christ it is dead. We don't have a score card, marking off which times we are rejoicing and what times were not, so we can present to God as merit bagged from some religious group as a browny points.
Rom.8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter."{Psalm 44:22} 8:37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What we have as Christian's is the life of Christ indwelling us that rejoices in loving the Father YHWH, it is the Spirit that gives us life in our mortal bodies, our flesh is dead. It is the very life source we are grafted into the tree of life, Christ Jesus that we live and produce fruits of rejoicing before God, not man! Let us reach for the highest goal of being filled constantly with God's Spirit so we may live in Christ filled with his life for the glory of God. Let us remove judgment of others, not judging them or we cannot rejoice because we are comparing our goodness against theirs, and not living in Christ when we do that; for those judgments are dead in Christ so rejoice in the free gift of undeserved kindness.
1 Peter 4:13 But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy.
1 Peter 1:6 Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been put to grief in various trials.
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
1Thess.5:17 Pray without ceasing. 5:18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. 5:19 Don't quench the Spirit.
***1Thess.5:20 Don't despise prophesies.
We must understand two things here that Paul address under Holy Spirit, 1.) human nature, and 2.) prophesies. Human nature is to label something good or evil compiling information against or for something. In this chapter and in others place Paul lets these brothers and sister know not to be quickly shaken over some prophesy.
Psalms 46:2 Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
It easy to run to the point that “all” prophecy is evil and wrong, but that simply not true. Moreover, Christian's should not despise prophecy, because there are many false prophet in the world. First and foremost each Christian must understand basic truth those promoting false prophecy mainly with end days prediction, they forget that Christ is now, and will be God one true prophet he speaks though for mankind.
Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
In other words, prophesy towards us will come from the head of the congregation if we are actually in Christ, not through a legal corporation or a group calling itself Christian's. Christ can use a body member to speak prophesy, but something many Christian's fail to understand prophesy is not “just” about end times prediction. It can be direction in our lives something very simple. It can be counsel regarding forgiveness at the right time lead by a Spirit directed brother or sister.
Ephesians 4:8 Therefore he says, "When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."{Psalm 68:18}
1 Corinthians 12:28 God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.
In other words, if you had lived at Paul's time there were not bibles being past around, and literature handed out by the billions, there was brothers and sisters belonging to one body the Christ, and Christ working in them, and through them giving direction and support to his congregation. Most all communication was not reference through bible verses it was spoken to you by those placed as gifts within the congregation of God, Christ Jesus the truth.
1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
Romans 12:5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
1 Corinthians 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, isn't it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn't it a sharing of the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.
Now in this context we find why Paul said not to despise prophesies, he not saying: “You must believe end time prophecy being promoted to day by people calling themselves Christian's, or you are evil or that you will not be saved.
Matthew 24:24 For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
This context is important because those constantly promoting end time prophecy use it to make people feel guilty and evil for testing and not being quickly shaken by their prophecy. We must be reasonable and fair, few Christian's today are even directed by Holy Spirit, they are taught by a group, or research bible chronology, finding the last conspiracy theory and wrap bible teachings around them calling those God's prophecy.
2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation.
In other words, the Holy Spirit did not direct the prophecy through the head of the congregation and give it to the members of Christ body. Furthermore, a truth none of us can get around is if we seek truth and not fiction. The restraint that was taken away at the apostles times, so the field of weed took over God's planting of wheat has not been restored by mankind and their religion. If this is true than what we should find in the history of Christianity since the restraint was removed false prophecy and no new prophecy by Christ through his body members.
2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, 2:4 he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. 2:5 Don't you remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things? 2:6 Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.
Matt.13:37 He answered them, "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, 13:38 the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one. 13:39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. 13:40 As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age. 13:41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity, 13:42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth. 13:43 Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Some two thousand's years have past now, not one prophesy regarding the end of our world and the Lords coming has been utter correctly, all have failed and proven false since Christ apostles died off the earth and the restraint removed. But do we have what we need for salvation? Yes! Do you understand as a Christian's that every word written in your bible was not done by personal will, or a person originality, but by God's will and Holy Spirit? Do you understand that each word spoken came through a prophet of God, chosen to speak it and write it down for us?
2 Peter 1:21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
Yes! You hold in your hand a book written by prophets all of them, they did not compile the latest theory of mankind creating a prophecy they were instead given the words and thoughts as a prophet from God first than Christ Jesus once resurrected, not the other way around. The bible is not mundane or should the lesser teaching be despised, they are prophesies of great prophets within their words are life and death.
Revelation 22:18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, may God add to him the plagues which are written in this book.
Revelation 22:19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, may God take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.
God has put his stamp of approval upon each word of those used to write our bibles none of them have failed or proven false a perfect track record can any today or for two thousand's years claim that about their predictions?
Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet, who shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.
***1Thess,5:21 Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.
Reading God's word the bible can be like a person stepping off of a curb forgetting they have, than hitting the bottom, stunning them that they had forgot they'd step down! If we are to abstain from evil, how can we be in a constant state of testing everything as evil? Romans 1:17 For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."{Habakkuk 2:4}
Matthew 6:23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
Such is shocking thought for most! But have we step down and not even realized it by thinking evil and testing against evil? Abstaining is a strong word, it certainly does not imply “sometimes”, or once in a while, nor even when I am not testing prophesy? You see, we are speaking about the subject of prophesy here, that is Paul point in writing this that prophecy was a foot about the last days a constant theme for Christian's back than, and today!
Matthew 6:34 Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
Psalms 62:6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe.
So one must do what? Test it, test it against what, evil? If one is testing the prophesy as evil that is their state of mind than are they abstaining from evil? No! Let us not forget and step off the curb being shocked here! We test all things against faith in Christ, is that evil? No! It certainly is not! But those with suspicious minds, that is, lets call it what it is a legal mind whom look for evil to build a case they find no power or comfort in testing prophecy against faith in Christ.
Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
Romans 3:3 For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
Romans 4:5 But to him who doesn't work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
The Spirit of God comforts us in our spirit, it does not promote fears in our flesh, when a Christian's test prophesy against faith, that is, trusting in God, his word, and his promises, nothing shakes them in their flesh. If prophesy promotes fear in our flesh, a lack of trust in God's words to us, requiring us to have some special intellectual knowledge, and without it we are caught off guard losing our hope in Christ and our eternal life than its not building our trust, love and faith in Christ, and promises too us.
Hebrews 13:6 So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"{Psalm 118:6-7}
Romans 12:6 Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
1 Corinthians 2:5 that your faith wouldn't stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing.
Timothy 1:7 For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
When people run to prophesy away from faith in Christ our salvation they are going out into the wilderness for another type of salvation, away from the body of Christ. Christ does not promote works of flesh at all in his body members, he instead builds them up in Spirit and truth, freely, without fear of death in this life! Many have flocked to humans, to organizations out of fear over prophesy. Many become fixated on promoting prophesy replacing the Christ and faith with intellectualizing wisdom of this world in secret events, not sustaining from evil at all, but going deep into evils of society to unlock the next big event for mankind.
1 Corinthians 13:13 But now faith, hope, and love remain--these three. The greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!
2 Corinthians 13:5 Test your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don't you know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified.
The question is, is faith weak in Christ? In other words, is it not enough? Many of fine brothers and sisters have been executed for their faith in Christ in two thousand's years. When faced with death, as are all true Christian's each day there is but one point we must be strong in? What is our trust in Christ? We must believe that he will save us out of death believing the truth of Christ own words that if we believe in the Son of God we have eternal life.
Matthew 24:26 If therefore they tell you, 'Behold, he is in the wilderness,' don't go out; 'Behold, he is in the inner chambers,' don't believe it.
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
***1Thess.5:23 May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is of interest after Paul speak about prophecy, and our not being shaken he speak of the God of peace, but why? Peace is the overseer of the Body of Christ, why peace? It is because there is no contentious flesh warring with the Spirit of God. We have a spirit body in Christ one free from the strife and contention of our flesh.
2 Timothy 2:23 But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.
Titus 3:9 but shun foolish questionings, genealogies, strife, and disputes about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
2 Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent to be found in peace, without blemish and blameless in his sight.
2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
The temple of God, Christ Jesus, which we are a part of is where God's Holy Spirit dwells for his children, in that sacred and holy of hollies is the living hope for all mankind, in that secret place of Christ personality is where we find faith, love, and hope, given us freely by our Father YHWH. This is the assured expectation we have in him, nothing can shake that eternal hope in heaven or upon earth provided we stay in the Great Sabbath of God, Christ Jesus.
Revelation 6:4 Another came forth, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come.
It is the head the husband that perfects his body sanctifying us, preserving us blameless by his righteousness not some prophecy, not some mathematical calculation in our bibles or by a number, nor a mark. Christ is all we need, it is his efforts and our faith that makes us blameless in him. It is Christ finish works in us that pleases God, it is our faith in the power and the workings of our head that is truth, and it pleasing to our Father. There is no other sanctification, no other piece of knowledge we lack in Christ do you understand the reaches of that statement?
James 1:4 Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Luke 22:35 He said to them, "When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing."
Psalms 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing.
If you are in Christ, we are complete, because his life fills us with his eternal life which he has gained for us by his own good works upon earth. Let us never wander in the wilderness knowing before us is the Spirit of the living God directing our every step in this life, if we have faith. Let us not shrink in fear going into works of law, where we think we must sanctify ourselves, direct our lives, find some date or secret knowledge to save ourselves. Let us wait in faith, let us return to truth and Spirit knowing if we rest in him we are assured that he will not handed us copper serpent, but blessing from our promise land.
Numbers 21:8 Yahweh said to Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live. 21:9 Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
John 3:14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
***1Thess.5:24 He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it. 5:25 Brothers, pray for us. 5:26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. 5:27 I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers. 5:28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Do we believe He who calls us is faithful? This not a trick question! Do we believe and rest in faith or are we always pushing in our flesh not resting because of some prophecy, or in search of something new prophecy? Are we the type that thinks others just don't get it that if they could just see how important some prophecy are and dates they to would be enlighten?
Matt.14:26 When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost!" and they cried out for fear. 14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! It is I!{or, I AM!} Don't be afraid." 14:28 Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters." 14:29 He said, "Come!" Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. 14:30 But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" 14:31 Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" 14:32 When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased. 14:33 Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, "You are truly the Son of God!"
Is God unfaithful, is he just allowing you to see, and not others? So than we must be even more faithful to our cause than YHWH and his Son for without us, and our ability to figure it all out God would prove on unfaithful, not caring enough to get the job done without us?
Isa.40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? 40:13 Who has directed the Spirit of Yahweh, or has taught him as his counselor? 40:14 Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
No! The context of the entire bible is God is faithful not man, God can be trust to keep his word, not man. God is giving the prophecy and we are but a vessel a messenger for God's glory, and God will make it come true because it his word that goes forth and has certain success not ours! We must rest in that truth, not push that truth and make others hear of see!
Isa.40:22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in; 40:23 who brings princes to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth like meaningless. 40:24 They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble. 40:25 "To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
You see all one has to do is find themselves constantly pushing others or debating them to know they are walking in their flesh, and judging according to the flesh, which makes what the do and say not of God. We are to walk in love, not our love, but the love of God, which means his love given us freely in the life of Christ Jesus which should indwell us and not the fleshly mind we are born into from birth through are parents. We have been born new from God himself, we are governed by His love, for God is love, and the rule of law is love in God, the God of love.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
Galatians 5:13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don't use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.
Are we left as bastards like worldly father so often do? Are we trick like the world in our Heavenly Father not keeping his word? Are we without trust in believing God is faithful that he will finish his work in us as a son of God? Do you want to be found crawling our way into heaven thinking we deserve it because of some knowledge we have found in the scriptures?
John 6:28 They said therefore to him, "What must we do, that we may work the works of God?" 6:29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
Simply put do we understand what it means to rest in our faith in God's faithfulness towards us? Conversely, do we like so many think we can study our way into heaven? We can preach our way into heaven? We can make us go to heaven by some work we do in this flesh? Do you understand when the bible says it is by faith that is all we have to be found faithful to God in?
Romans 4:5 But to him who doesn't work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
We cannot distrust God by some prophesy thinking we are not smart enough because we can't get it, or we need to find something as a Christian we are good enough at to be in heaven with God. No! We are given gift from our faith, we are not boasting in something we have done, or been through or we have born ourselves again and given ourselves gifts of Christ. If we are in Christ we belong to him, is Christ boasting about us?
1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
1 Corinthians 9:16 For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about; for necessity is laid on me; but woe is to me, if I don't preach the Good News.
1Cor.4:2 Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful. 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man's judgment. Yes, I don't judge my own self. 4:4 For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord. 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.
Now think about that for a moment . . . or are we rather proving faithful to God by staying in Christ Jesus as the head of the body? Christ had to die to be proven faithfulness to God, he had to wait in his flesh being persecuted to be glorified at God's time. How many glorify themselves by some prophecy they have come up with? Certain not Christ and those that belong to him!
Philip.2:1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, 2:2 make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; 2:3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; 2:4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. 2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus, 2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;

The book of 1 Thessalonians
Chapter 5
1Cor.1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 1:31 that, according as it is written, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord."{Jeremiah 9:24}
Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hebrews 13:6 So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"{Psalm 118:6-7}
2 Corinthians 4:5 For we don't preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake;
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man doesn't love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed{Greek: anathema.}. Come, Lord!{Aramaic: Maranatha!}
Romans 9:32 Why? Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
1:9 But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you!"
1:10 But these speak evil of whatever things they don't know.
Eph.2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 2:5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 2:7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
2:9 not of works, that no one would boast.
2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
They have by their presumptuousness taken the power of Holy Spirit and made it into the power of their wonderful goodness in saving others by their great understanding of God's word.
Philip. 2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we don't wage war according to the flesh;
Ephesians 3:16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Romans 9:32 Why? Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'{Deuteronomy 30:12} (that is, to bring Christ down);
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;"{Deuteronomy 30:14} that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
Matthew 13:15 for this people's heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and should turn again; and I would heal them.'{Isaiah 6:9-10}
***1Thess.5:12 But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,
5:13 and to respect and honor them in love for their work's sake.
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. 1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
Rom.12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. 12:2 Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. 12:3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. 12:4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don't have the same function, 12:5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 12:6 Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Psalms 46:2 Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;
Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Ephesians 4:8 Therefore he says, "When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."{Psalm 68:18}
2Thess.2:1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you
2:2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come.
13:41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,
13:42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire.
Reading God's word the bible can be like a person stepping off of a curb forgetting they have, than hitting the bottom, stunning them that they had forgot they'd step down! If we are to abstain from evil, how can we be in a constant state of testing everything as evil?
Romans 1:17 For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."{Habakkuk 2:4}
Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly.
Hebrews 13:6 So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"{Psalm 118:6-7}
Romans 12:6 Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
It is I!{or, I AM!} Don't be afraid." 14:28 Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters."
14:29 He said, "Come!" Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.
Isa.40:22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in;
40:23 who brings princes to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth like meaningless.
Philip.2:1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, 2:2 make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
2:3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; 2:4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. 2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
