The Light of The World

John 1:8 He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light. ( Speaking of John the Baptist)

John 1:9 The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

Was the nation of Israel the light of the world? Good question is it not? Israel for thousand's of years was God's people, God acted mightily in Israel, the very glory of God was found in its temple, its kings, priest, and prophets, but was Israel the light of the world?

If we can answer that question honestly It will help us to better understand why Christ Kingdom is no part of this world? The truth is, Israel was not the light of the world! So let us reason carefully here? If the profound glory found in Israel was not the light of the world, why would any earthly religion think that it is the light to our world?

Luke 11:35 Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn't darkness.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

Why then was Christ, one man, and those that he would soon make part of his spirit body the light of the world?

John 12:35 Jesus therefore said to them, "Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn't overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn't know where he is going.

John 12:36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light." Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.

Light From Where and What?

You see it hard for us humans to understand we are not the light, we can't be the light, and because we read something from God, like his word the bible, does not mean we are the light, but why? Reading words from God does not make a person sinless, we only think it does because what's coming from their mouth is God's word. What of those that are ardent supporters of God's word, preaching it, using it in every sentence coming out of their mouth only to be found out they have done very evil acts?

Reading righteous words does not change sin into righteousness, now does it? Isn't that exact what the prophet of God ask the priest?

Haggai 2:12 'If someone carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with his fold touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any food, will it become holy?'" The priests answered, "No."

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

Do we get it? Acting holy, talking holy, walking holy, and dressing holy does not make a person holy. Frankly, that is a mental illness that people get hooked into so they can feel righteous in their emotional flesh, but that does not mean touching something holy makes one holy, now does it?

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

God is light, Christ is light, and Christ followers were to become the light, but why? Perfect light, pure light, i.e., truth, is without corruption of what? Sin, that is, sin is missing the mark of loving God, and/or obeying God, which those loving him do with all their heart and mind and soul. Those living in sin make themselves obey God's word to look righteous, and/or believe they will be rewarded by God for being harsh on themselves, and usually make others do works of law!

Luke.18:9 He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others.
18:10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: 'God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
18:12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.'
18:13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Christ The Light of Men

Christ loved his Father YHWH with his whole heart, mind, and soul, we know this because God said Christ never sinned, he was the perfect lamp of God, he reflexed the light coming from God perfectly without a flaw! No human falling short of the glory of God could do that, not even the prophets of Israel were the light of the world, nor its kings, and priest that should tells us something?

It tells us a lot about fleshly Israel, all of it from it's kings to prophets were but a shadow of the light, no human on earth after sin entered into Adam could be the light of our world. God must, and did, send us the light from another world, so His light would not be convoluted by human sin, error, the pride of the flesh, its lust that confuses truth with ambition, confuses truth with jealousy, confuse truth with hate . . .

James. 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

That light came into our world, and how was it received? We have no doubt about that subject because God is not darkness, he is the light, and cannot lie, that is, tickle our ears with sweet words that make us feel good about our fallen state into sin and death.

John 3:19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn't recognize him.

The truth is majority hated the light God sent into this world, because it declared the works of men evil not of God, it declared because one uses God's world does not make them holy, or not evil. What light (Christ) said angered the nation of Israel.

John 7:7 The world can't hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.

John 8:23 He said to them, "You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.

People don't come to some one to be told the truth, it hurts, they avoid them, correct? Humans want to hear comfirmation that what they believe is good and right, they don't want to be told things they don't believe, or won't do. The world then under darkness never get it, do we? The world never knew Christ although he was right in their mist, bigger than day!

John 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Christ came into a group of people that believed, and were willing to die for their so called truth, and they rejected the light of God, where indeed does that put us two thousand years removed from that event? Should we be surprised that there are some 50- thousand's Christian's religions calling themselves the light to the world?

Matthew 13:38 the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.

Matthew 13:40 As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.

Matthew 13:33 He spoke another parable to them. "The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures{literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel} of meal, until it was all leavened."

What would happen if the light came into the world now? We are left without any doubt on that subject if we believe the truth of God's word, there is nothing new under the Sun. Simply put, people act the same throughout all generation when it comes to God and the truth, and sin. The same reasons there was false religion back then is the same reasons false religion exist today from a wicked heart under sin.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 That which has been is that which shall be; and that which has been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

The Light of The World Today

No sane person would state they are the light to this world, only a false prophet would boast in their flesh like that! However, many have believed that they are the light of the world but aren't bold enough to stated it, knowing they would be rejected as a wacko!

Subsequently, they form a group, a composite man of lawlessness, into a religion then boast as being the light of this world taking the heat off themselves like the coward they are so they can infuse their light teaching into a group, where they can be looked up to and honor by the flesh.

2Tim.3:1 But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3:3 without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,
3:4 traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 3:5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also. 3:6 For of these are those who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,
3:7 always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The only light to this world is one person God called the light, not many points of light, but one light and all light stems from the light, as the true vine of light! Light comes from above down to us, not the other way around. That light we have been told is none other then Jesus Christ, the Son of Man.

James.1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Searching through piles of religious documents, and ancient civilization does not reveal the light (from below). God reveals the light too us freely without the will of man at all, do you believe that? The light of the world is not hidden, don't be fooled, it is always there, it can never be lost, or taken away by any human being small or great, why?

And here is why?

Incorruptible Life-giving Spirit

Hebrews 7:16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:

Titus 1:2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who can't lie, promised before time began;

Christ is highly exalted above all authority in heaven and on earth, he is an incorruptible life giving Spirit that cannot be put out by men who are but a vapor on this earth appearing for but a moment in time.

James 4:14 Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.

We have the light, here is the key, if we come to the light, but men have loved darkness “more than the light” because their works our evil. Men take the light of God's word, not the light from above they cannot corrupt or even touch; they take what is holy and good, and filter it through their own hearts, its needs and wants making it into a religion they follow all the days on earth.

Romans 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.

James.3:5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!
3:6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.{or, Hell}
3:7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind.
3:8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Jer.10:23 Yahweh, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

There will never be no false religion upon this earth as long as there is sin in mankind. The true religion, the unshakable kingdom is in heaven incorruptible found in a life giving Spirit of Christ Jesus. searching for truth in men, what a joke!

Psalms 31:14 But I trust in you, Yahweh. I said, "You are my God."

Psalms 40:4 Blessed is the man who makes Yahweh his trust, and doesn't respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

1 Timothy 4:10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

Hebrews 2:13 Again, "I will put my trust in him."{Isaiah 8:17} Again, "Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me."{Isaiah 8:18}

Why lie to ourselves we absolutely know what we are going to get if we put our faith in men? Christ is abundantly clear on that subject, he stated:

Matt.7:6 "Don't give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Matt.7:8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

Matt.7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
7:16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

Have you been stuck by a thorn, left bleeding, wounded? Have you been tore up by a thistle bush thinking it was a good and righteous religion from God? Then lets ask the hard questions?

Where were we looking for the truth at? Who were we asking for the truth from? Did we lack faith in God's power found in Jesus Christ that if we look to him alone he would keep his word that he would not hand us a serpent, but give us the wonderful gift of knowing the life, the truth of his Son Christ Jesus?

Numbers 21:8 Yahweh said to Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard: and it shall happen, that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.

Numbers 21:9 Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it on the standard: and it happened, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.

John 3:14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

Did we get bit by a serpent? That is a honest painful question we must ask ourselves, yes ,or no? Now listen once more to the truth of the light of the Word, Christ Jesus.

Matt.5:37 But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

If we have been bitten is our pride not letting us believe the truth, the truth is, we made the mistake not God's? Either Christ will give us truth from above or he will not? If we wish to search for it with a our whole heart, and/or, we can demand it from men thinking they are in charge of our faith then why are we bleeding from thorns while trying to get the fruits of God? Why are we not blessed with a fish? Did we try to make something between our yes, or no, come true, as our truth, in our faith?

Matt. 7:26 Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.
7:27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell--and great was its fall."

The truth is not hard, but our pried is, our giving up what we demand as truth is very hard, do you know why? It because God does not make us served him, if we think so, we are confusing God with our false religion.

God loves us, and freely gives everything we ask of him when it comes to our spiritual blessing. We can't lack in Christ we certainly lack in all flesh, we lack in and of ourselves, we are not the light, we are filled with light if we are in Christ Jesus, and we teach others to go to the light, not us.

1 Timothy 6:16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

Do we want to build an empire from our religion, do we want the approval of a religion, do we demand meetings with a religion, do we expect them to take care of our faith for us, our spiritual needs? And when not, and we find ourselves bleeding being stuck all over with many painful trails, do we then complain because we lack? Do we find our fervent prayers going unanswered?

1 John 2:9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

James. 1:4 Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. 1:6 But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.
1:7 For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.

Yes, we will, many have also had their prayers answered by false religion seeing powerful works, but they are still lacking, they still are complaining, filled with hate they deny by using righteous words from their bibles, complaining about all the injustice among God's so called people, they are still looking to a government (by politicking within their religion) or whatever to take not to accept their personal responsibility, comparing the flaws of others instead of coming to the light to have their own works revealed, to be reproved so the can walk in truth and Spirit. The light is reveal the darkness is in us, and when we think men are the light. the so called light in us, is really darkness!

We are told what those claims of calling oneself or a religion the light actually are,, but do we believe it? Listen to Christ words:

John.10:6 Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn't understand what he was telling them.
10:7 Jesus therefore said to them again, "Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep's door.
10:8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn't listen to them.
10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture. 10:10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. 10:11 I am the good shepherd.{Isaiah 40:11; Ezekiel 34:11-12,15,22} The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 10:12 He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn't own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them. 10:13 The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn't care for the sheep. 10:14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I'm known by my own;
10:15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

Matt. 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 7:22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'
7:23 Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.'

If we find ourselves in a thief's sheep pen we have been over taken, Christ has return, he is the light, we have been stolen willingly and the Day of our Lord has overcome us as a thief!

Revelation 3:2 Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.
