Mark 12:31 The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'{Leviticus 19:18} There is no other commandment greater than these."
What makes a good neighbor? Well, now days most people don’t know because there are so many bad ones! But lets simplify this?
If we are a good neighbor we obey the rules of society, and/or the property we live on.
In other words, it not about motives, if a person has bad motives, or if the person has good motives and does lots of good works for others.
It about do we obey the rules that everyone else is expected to obey and live by. It can’t be about motives because that means there are no rules/laws.
The definition of anti-social is when a person makes themselves an acceptation to the rules everyone else obeys. Such thinking is criminal, it is selfish, and it is proven by empirical evidence (material facts) a bad neighbor does not obey the rules.
It is the rules that determine our motives, not the other way around!
That is why entire nations corrupt and collapse into anarchy. When society allows certain groups to violate the rules and laws because of some good motive, or good work they are doing.
Proverbs 24:23 These also are sayings of the wise. To show partiality in judgment is not good.
Moreover, that is what God calls wicked! Where good is punishes and evil is rewarded. Rewarding evil by not enforcing the laws for a good motive is nothing more than having a personal agenda.
Proverbs 17:13 Whoever rewards evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
The person/people wants something, and to get it they justify breaking the laws and rules by pointing to good motives. Every evil perpetrated on mankind follows this same pattern.
Proverbs 16:29 A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good.
Nothing causes greater division, confusion, and lack of peace as this immature nevi narcissistic behavior. One cannot justify why they break the rules, they do, or they don’t obey them; having good or bad motives does not nullify laws that type of thinking can only live in a lawless mind!
Proverbs 17:26 Also to punish the righteous is not good, nor to flog officials for their integrity.
Such thinking is very immature something that should be left in childhood. The very idea of being mature means a person is accountable for their own action by law.
Proverbs 23:8 The morsel which you have eaten you shall vomit up, and lose your good words.
When life become unbearable and complicated it when motives are put before laws. When there are violent outburst its because the rules and laws are not being enforced, and that is how politician's manipulate society, and why the police can’t do their job!
Proverbs 28:21 To show partiality is not good; yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
2 Peter 2:8 (for that righteous man dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day with seeing and hearing lawless deeds):
When entire company fail, religion, and governments it is that good motives are more important than equal protection of the laws. Having a good motive does not stop lawlessness it promotes it.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;
When people uses the word Christian implying to others their motives are pure, or use their good works done in Jesus name as an excuse for not being a good neighbor by obeying the rules Christ calls them workers of lawlessness!
Matt.7:21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 7:22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?' 7:23 Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.' Matthew 6:2 Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don't sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
