Illusion, a misrepresentation of a “real” sensory stimulus—that is, an interpretation that contradicts objective “reality” as defined by general agreement. ... An illusion is distinguished from a hallucination, an experience that seems to originate without an external source of stimulation.
There was a proud man that was sent to prison for life, once inside he searched out wise men that would help him survive his ordeal and to help him escape from the prison. 1. Each one said the same thing: “the truth will set you free!” Search for truth in everything, in all the prison systems to the littlest detail of each guards personality.
Thus, started his great journey for truth, he study the plumbing, the electrical, the building codes and every system the prison used, even the law! He left nothing upturned, years past he was growing old but still his study of truth hadn’t set him free. In fact, the more truth he obtain to, the greater his pain became, because the truth only made it clear there was no escaping his confinement.
Yet, like many before him he was told the same information that he himself repeated to new prisoners even though this truth hadn’t set him free! But one day like all the others he was buried in the prison graveyard still in captivity!
Freedom, generally, is having the ability to act or change without constraint. Something is "free" if it can change easily and is not constrained in its present state. ... A person has the freedom to do things that will not, in theory or in practice, be prevented by other forces.
Freedom is defined as the state of being free, independent, without restrictions, or release from prison. ... An example of freedom is the right of U.S. citizens to express their ideas and opinions. An example of freedom is a prisoner being let out of prison after serving their time.
The Truth That Sets us Free
So many Christians, and philosopher find their life long quest for the truth that will set them free a plague rather than the sweet freedom they have longed for all their lives. 2.
Ecclesiastes 1:2 "Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher; "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity."
Ecclesiastes 1:14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and behold, all is vanity and a chasing after wind.
Study of truths does not set people free, in fact, in most cases it only exposes how truly hopeless we are in making real changes as humans. Yes, Solomon the wisest of all kings set out on this journey to come to the conclusion that all is vanity, a chasing after the wind; an increase in knowledge only caused him greater pain!
Ecclesiastes 2:21 For there is a man whose labor is with wisdom, with knowledge, and with skillfulness; yet he shall leave it for his portion to a man who has not labored for it. This also is vanity and a great evil.
But as we all know truth its still the most important quest for the human race touted as the end all and be all for human survival. Without the constant quest for truth human’s feel inadequate and fearful. They are driven by fear that they didn’t do enough searching for truth but each step in gaining more truth only causes a greater need for more truth like and addiction.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he who loves abundance, with increase: this also is vanity.
Proverbs 30:15 "The leach has two daughters: 'Give, give.' "There are three things that are never satisfied; four that don't say, 'Enough:' 3. Just like a person in prison the greater the knowledge of truth the more powerful the confinement becomes. So is there a truth that sets us free or is it an illusion and a deceptive hoax perpetrated upon the human race.
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
Truth Without an Agenda
Human are terrible about stealing things and changing the truth to fit into their narrative. Human’s are not shy or embarrassed to take a great persons personality and their life’s achievements remaking it into their own agendas such things are practice in politics, religion, and commerce without consequence.
So what did Jesus mean when he stated the truth will set you free? That is a fair question few of us ask? But given the circumstance that few of us find the truth sets us free and the fact that we human’s constantly change history and add to it, perhaps, what Christ said and meant has nothing to do with all that. And of course by now what Christ said and meant has been far convoluted! So lets start with:
John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."{Psalm 119:45}
John 8:36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
When, Where, and Who?
4. 1.) Who is the truth according to God’s word the bible? Is it the creation of God that is truth that set us free? Or is it a specific person?
2.) When and where does the truth set us free, and for what reason are we set free by the truth?
First, Jesus Christ is the truth, he is called the truth by God. That's right, no angel is called the truth, or human on earth. Christ is the truth.
Secondly, did Christ the truth set about teaching his disciples to dig into every untruth perpetrated from mankind and evil wicked spirit forces in heaven places to be set themselves free, and/or did Christ set them free as the truth of God?
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
John 8:36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
Thirdly, was the truth Christ gave his disciples a progressive truth by their own digging and research or was the truth given them by their receiving the life of Christ in them?
John 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
5. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
SET FREE FROM WHAT?
There is no confusion about what we are set free from according to God’s own word. We are set free from our sin that and nothing more!
Romans 6:18 Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.
Romans 6:20 For when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
Romans 6:22 But now, being made free from sin, and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of eternal life.
Do we comprehend those words? Those that have been set free from their sins in Christ Jesus are in the truth. We can not be set free from our sins by research found in our bibles, scrolls, the greatest minds in our universe, not even angels, did you know that?
Galatians 1:8 But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any "good news" other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.
Is our being set free from sin a little thing? !t seems to be the least thing among Christian’s now days. 6. Without being set free from our sins we cannot be in Christ Jesus the truth!
Galatians 5:1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
The illusion of seeking truth is lost on our worlds lust for truth. Seeking and having Christ Jesus indwell us are to opposing thought, one cannot seek what has been given us by God’s love, correct?
The idea of living in prison from sin with the death sentence does not help in studying all the worlds philosophies, religions, history, wars, the greatest minds if we are still in prison dying in our sins.
Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
7. Freedom from sin is not a mundane idea that is meaningless for real Christian’s. It is the promise all God’s people have sought before Christ Jesus. Christ came to earth to died for our sins setting us free from God’s wrath, and gave us eternal life, not in our flesh, but in our spirit when we put off the prison of our flesh.
Romans 5:6 For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
Romans 5:8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
1 Peter 2:24 who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.
That is the truth, it is the only truth anywhere that set us free from our sins, it is that truth we live in. In other words, we don’t live in a truth of creation or some experiment by science, we live in the reality of Christ life in us as the truth.
The Great Illusion!
The great illusion is that God has subjected his entire creation to futility. In other words, the creation is chasing it own tale, is it the chasing the rainbow of freedom that ends in death’s prison! God has subject his creation to futility/vanity; the fact no human can unsubject God’s creation from futility should tell the humble something, not the proud!
Rom.8:20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
8. 8:21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
Futility started with human sin and futility ends in Christ Jesus taking our sins and giving us eternal life. The deception in us is when we think we can figure it all out by truth’s pf this world, our great research, our great mind, or we are somehow unique above others, special!
Such thinking puts us in the prison grave yard, never escaping our captivity all the short days of our life.
Proverbs 16:19 It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.
James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}
The Struggle that Deceives
All human struggle is fear, and self-doubt, we are up some days and down on others, we are a host of emotions, good and bad. But none of us are the truth. Yet, many want you to believe they are the truth and put faith in their words.
1 John 2:15 Don't love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love isn't in him.
9. Titus 1:10 For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don't confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.
If one is human under sin, subjected to futility, how could they possible deceive themselves into believing they are the truth, writing the truth or revealing the truth through some research? The only way that can happen is by laws, laws are for the sinful flesh, laws blind and they judge, laws our hostile to our fallen flesh. Its an easy thing for the flesh to judge others by righteous laws. That is things seen, things touched, things felt, in the flesh!
John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
John 7:24 Don't judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
Colossians 2:18 Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
It is that war within our flesh we are told by the Holy Spirit not to engage in which allows us measure ourselves by ourselves allowing us to judge that we have more merit than others, and/or have the truth by self works, which is a lie!
10.
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.
2 Corinthians 10:12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.
Christ is the truth, we have the truth not by works of law, we have the truth by Gods love for us. We are freely forgiven our sins, onetime, and that onetime its good forever. We have been given eternal life and proof is in the pudding, Christ is eternal life and we received his life in us, the truth we are part of him, there is no greater thing we gain by judging the flesh of others.
1Cor.3:1 Brothers, I couldn't speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ. 3:2 I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren't yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready, 3:3 for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren't you fleshly, and don't you walk in the ways of men? 3:4 For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," aren't you fleshly? 3:5 Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed; and each as the Lord gave to him? 11. 3:6 I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
1Cor.3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness."{Job 5:13} 3:20 And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless."{Psalm 94:11} 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, 3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.
We gain nothing from our own flesh that is dead in Christ cast into the very sea where our Father YHWH accounts our sins no more for all eternity!
It is the fear of being judged and not judging that motives all humans to seek truth, truth has become a work of self-righteousness that we human feel we must do to protect and boast that we were the first and only person reveling it to justify our good works which we false believe gives us merit, and/or proves we are working for God, which is all a deception.
Flesh is the prison, flesh is dead to God, judged as not redeemable, it is the Spirit that gives us life and freedom in Christ by forgiving us our sins.
12.
Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"} 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 8:3 For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 8:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be. Rom.8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God. 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 8:10 If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 8:11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
13. The real truth is, Jesus Christ can never be lost or hidden, and Christ the truth is the only truth that matters if we want eternal life with God. Nothing carefully concealed will not be revealed by the Truth of Christ Jesus eternal life at God’s prescribed time.
1 Peter 1:7 that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ--
1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action,{literally, "gird up the waist of your mind"} be sober and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ--
Romans 2:5 But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God;
If we are in Christ we have the truth, and if we have the truth we walk in the light, we need no more light and/or truth because we have the reward of God’s truth eternal life!
Reading, watching, hearing should always bring us to the one life saving conclusion there is not truth that save us but Christ Jesus, our faith in Christ will not be a disappointment, he is the everlasting eternal truth that restores us to God’s love!
14. Romans 5:5 and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
1 John 4:8 He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:9 By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

1Cor.3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness."{Job 5:13}
3:20 And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless."{Psalm 94:11}
3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,
3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,
3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"}
8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
8:3 For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;
8:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.
