Examining Teaching of JW's > The last thing a narcissist wants to be forthright about is his need for attention

Todd Skyler
Attorney
Litigated cases in which aspects of NPD and BPD impacted subject matter of disputed legal issues, secured psychologists and psychiatrists discovery depositions in prep for same.

The last thing a narcissist wants to be forthright about is his need for attention. This would make him or her feel vulnerable and weak which is something the narcissist tries to hide hides at all costs.
The narcissist believes that if others, including loved ones, were to know about his excessive need for affirmation and validation, they would take advantage of him or her.
I think it is hard for a typical NT to fathom.....
how fragile and brittle many narcissists' psyches truly are
how badly the narcissist needs attention from outside sources in order to function
how frightening it is for narcissist to contemplate an attention gap
Based on a myriad of narcissist/NT relationship accounts, it appears that many narcissists literally can not spend virtually any time alone whatsoever.
A narcissist will nonetheless make certain that his disposition and demeanor reflect that…………
all is well
he is calm, cool, and collected
he is not emotionally phased in the least
In actuality this is the furthest thing from the truth..
