To answer your question directly: yes and no.
Yes, They think about you. More than they will admit. Without you acknowledging them (good or bad) they will feel like they don’t exist. This is extremely scary for them and they whole fantasy about themselves begins to collapse and they question their “reality”. However, they don’t care about EVERY single person who ignores them. There are degrees to which they care… however all of them care about the seperation of supply. The stronger the supply the harder it is to stop thinking about them. Its a drug. Always looking for a fix, protecting the future fix, and always wanting more attention.
At the same time, when a narc feels rejected it easier to “dismiss” it when they convince themselves that the person is inferior. It’s a loop. If an inferior person rejected them then they are lower than dirt, which can’t be true because the Narc is superior. So, a person that the narc doesnt truly care about sudden because a challenge to control. Once the narc feel like they have control back… you are inferior again. Round and round it goes. The drug. The high.
If the person is that great of a supply… they are easy to forget about. Honestly, I don’t think they are ever completely forgotten… a “decent” supply is just set on a back burner. On reserve in case they are needed for a quick fix band-aid to their ego.
A person is not supply AT ALL- as in wont let the narc get away with ANYTHING can hurt the narc but EASILY tossed aside. They are of no use. An empty battery. In fact, this person kinda scares the Narc because the Narc secretely admires this person. The narc doesn’t have the assertiveness or self-esteem of a person like this. It’s something the narc can never “fake”.
