How do narcissists justify their terrible actions?
Narcissists often get away with or justify their terrible actions and behavior by distracting their victims from by using “Logical reasoning.” This is when the narcissist will use a series of statements that sound perfectly logical seemingly normal to mislead people from knowing the truth why they do such awful things.
Narcissists when faced with with opposition to their bad behavior often use the “Word Salad” tactic. This is a jumbled, cryptic series of words and sentences a narcissist purposely uses that is virtually impossible anyone to understand. This leaves their partner totally confused. The harder you try to get an honest answer, a narcissist will quickly toss even more word salad in your face. Jumping from one misconception to another to completely distract or make their partner forget the original point of the conversation.
Another way a narcissist will try to justify their bad actions and avoid answering questions about this topic is by deflecting the conversation onto their partner instead of telling them the truth. A narcissist will commonly verbally attack their partner of being socially slow or stupid.
For example, say a narcissist flirts with someone in front of you. If you question them about their bad behavior, they’ll accuse you of being insecure or jealous to make you question your own feelings and and not their bad behavior. If that doesn’t work and the partner keeps arguing with the narcissist they’ll throw some bullshit at their partner like claiming their ex never minded.
The most frustrating emotionally abusive tactic a narcissist uses to justify their awful behavior is by accusing their partner of committing the dirty deed such as cheating, that the narcissist actually did themselves.
The narcissist wants you to think you’re the one with the problem. Not them. They will never tell you the honest truth about anything they do.
Trying to get the truth from a narcissist is like trying to make jello stick on a wall.
Narcissists will try any way they can to justify their terribly actions…Which is something nobody wants to hear.
