“What are we thinking? Does plucking out an eye increase self-control that the Spirit of God gives us freely, or is self-control of the flesh a work of the fleshes will? And if of fleshes self-will
what righteousness are we serving?”

Gal.5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
