“A comprise of truth is a breach in a mighty damn that grows larger and larger until it destroy the life it was created to protect and save!”
Proverbs 14:5 A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
Isaiah 57:11 Of whom have you been afraid and in fear, that you lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? Haven't I held my peace even of long time, and you don't fear me?
Micah 7:2 The godly man has perished out of the earth, and there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net.
Zephaniah 3:13 The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid."
John 8:44 You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn't stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and its father.
Colossians 3:9 Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings.
Hebrews 6:18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us. James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth.
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don't tell the truth.
Facts: But... little lies aren't a big deal. Consequentialism and utilitarianism (with their ends-justify-the-means reasoning) can affirm lying, says Camosy, but virtue ethics -- which prioritize character-based reasoning -- categorize lying (even a little) as an extremely destructive and negative practice. And virtually all religions and systems of belief follow the virtue ethics philosophy. Bottom line: Lying is a big deal in most ethical and religious systems. If we adhere to any of those, we’re on the hook to tell the truth. Facts by Web MD
