MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Luke.12:24-26. - If We Cannot do the Least?

Luke.12:24 Consider the ravens: they don't sow, they don't reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds! 12:25 Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height? 12:26 If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?

God reasons with mankind, here Christ explains to us the Father, not in rules, laws, and judgments but in truth and Spirit, that is, the truth of our Father love, which is Spirit.

John 4:23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers.

What are the least of these things we cannot do? For us to stop being anxious about our existence as to what we eat, and put on? Everything within our human experience it to be wise, build, store up, plan ahead for our lives so we can take care of ourselves, and those we love. This conduct is what normal people do, anything less is foolish.

Matt.7:8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. 7:9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Can we stop? Are we honest? We can lie, we can put on a pretense? But no we cannot stop! Please don't take offense, Christ is the truth and he states many truths that expose our sinful nature, not that he like some, the unrighteous, who delights in exposing us, no, rather, he tells us the truth, so we can appreciate God's great love for us, his unmerited kindness.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"}

Many have tried to live without worry of making a living, many others have come up with some sort of a explanation to dummy down Christ words above, and some have went into a religion a ministry to be taken care of. Let us remember Christ often spoke about things we as sinners could not do, like the law, we could try, we could hope, but it required faith not in our goodness but God's.

Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.

This demarcation effect the humble those loving truth one way, while the proud completely another way. The proud refuse to admit they can't do what the scriptures say so they build up white washed walls to protect themselves behind, they infuse the scriptures with yeast to justify their own inability to live up to the word of God. In other words, the truth becomes a lie, moreover, they judge and persecuted anyone that speaks truth. Hence, by this process the weeds are separated from the wheat.

1Cor.11:27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord's cup in a manner unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. 11:29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn't discern the Lord's body.

Matt. 7:1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged.
7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you. 7:3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye?
7:4 Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye?

The humble learn the truth of God, the most powerful lesson anyone can learn about God that he is love, he is kindness, and not proud, he humbles himself to deal with us sinners. He does not lie, he does not justify our sins. God deals with us, in moderation, and kindness, removing our sins at great cost to himself. From that conduct towards us in real terms, if we love truth, and we compare ourselves against the truth, Christ Jesus, we should be compelled to treat others the way we have been treated.

Matt.7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
7:12 Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

The proud do just the opposite in completing with Christ, they think they can be Christ on earth, and they do this by trying to be better than other people. They look to expose the weakness in others so they can gain merit for not breaking a law, keeping a commandments, some rule of their religion, but yet, Christ ask us the most important question if we love truth, and what is that?

James 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"? 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}

If we cannot do the least, why are we so anxious? Have we gotten it? If we can't do the simple things God ask us to do, the basics, then why would we think we can do anything by our own self-righteousness? Why would we trust our judgments? Why would we judge others so harshly if we cannot do the least things, why?

James 2:8 However, if you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself,"{Leviticus 19:18} you do well. 2:9 But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. 2:11 For he who said, "Do not commit adultery,"{Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18} also said, "Do not commit murder."{Exodus 10:13; Deuteronomy 5:17} Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 2:12 So speak, and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.
2:13 For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
