MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Rom.11:7-10. - The Rest Were Hardened

Rom.11:7 What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he didn't obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened. 11:8 According as it is written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day."{Deuteronomy 29:4; Isaiah 29:10} 11:9 David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them. 11:10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see. Bow down their back always."{Psalm 69:22,23}

Here is the problem with human nature today we often see those in the entertainment field promoting some program to help the poor or animals dramatically asking other to contribute while they themselves are ultra rich, having more money then they could spend in many lifetimes! The deception is they have absolved themselves of obligation by telling others what they need to do while they give from their abundance instead of their needs!

Luke.21:1 He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury. 21:2 He saw a certain poor widow casting in two small brass coins.{literally, "two lepta." 2 lepta was about 1% of a day's wages for an agricultural laborer.} 21:3 He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,
21:4 for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on."

This thinking plagues the human race, preaching does not mean we are better, exempt from doing. Israel God's chosen people failed because they thought their preaching and teaching God's divine laws they were in control, exempt from the whole purpose of the law to love others as they did themselves, doing good towards others as they wanted done unto them.

Matt.22:35 And one of them, a teacher of the law, put a question to him, testing him, and saying, 22:36 Master, which is the chief rule in the law? 22:37 And he said to him, Have love for the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 22:38 This is the first and greatest rule.
22:39 And a second like it is this, Have love for your neighbor as for yourself. 22:40 On these two rules all the law and the prophets are based.

Our thinking we are doing more makes us better has nothing to do with the truth of God. Mercy, kindness, and faith does, but who will response in not being pushed by laws demanding we must perform or be punished? History says very few really loved God, and done for others because God loved them and had mercy upon them. Here Paul tells us the outcome of self-righteousness, hate, blindness, and hardening of the heart, why? Simply put, if you can't love your brother whom we can see how can we love God we don't see.

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

Hebrews 10:24 Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,

1 Corinthians 13:3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.

1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all that you do be done in love.

In other words, when we hate through judgments, we are unwittingly exempt ourselves to the same judgments, we are saying we have earned a better standing by something we are done or doing for God. This deception leads us further and further into making ourselves into a god, which god is blind to its own faults. This is why the entire book of Roman's is really about one thing? God's grace, undeserved kindness, and/or unmerited kindness Vs. the laws judgment. Human nature under sin takes this road of judging others by some work, education, religion, government exempting itself from the truth that we are all sinners, not one of us is righteous, and than looks not at itself, but instead the fallen flesh of others weakness to justify ourselves.

James 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;
1:24 for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
1:26 If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn't bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man's religion is worthless. 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

In others words, this is how the whole system of mankind is set up, it is how it grows and prospers, the law given to Israel by God would have done the same thing in any nations hands. Moreover, it has done the same in Christian's nations, and non-Christian nations that have used the books of Moses. Here real Israel was not about preaching teaching others, but the love of God, how they treated one another was the test of truth in faith, and love. The real Good News was telling others how grand and good our heavenly Father is towards us, by our own actions meeting the words of our mouth, that is, in faith, bubbling up our love for God, not laws!

Revelation 2:4 But I have this against you, that you left your first love.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
1 John 4:20 If a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

1 John 4:8 He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.

We live in a corrupt world where entire government leader exempt themselves from what they demanded, and is common practice among the people they govern. They feel justified, believing the lie, they are proud of their position, no matter how outrageous their conduct is, we are shocked, stunned that there is no remorse, no understanding, so far out of touch with their mouths and what they practice it seem impossible such self-blindness exist!

Jer.17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? 17:10 I, Yahweh, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

Spiritual Israel a small remnant was raised in Christ, freed from the elementary things of this earth, that is, its system of things, and its practices they walked in truth the Christ. They have no comparison with fallen flesh to judge their conduct by, why? Those are dead works, put in the grave for them by dying in Christ. They are freed from this elementary conduct of all false religion, government, and commerce, they look to Christ knowing they are under undeserved kindness because of Christ righteousness and not their own.

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.

Romans 6:10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.

Colossians 2:20 If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances.

Problem solved, if they stay in Christ and not man. They must trust completely in God that he would lead them in Christ by Spirit through their life course on earth; he was not looking to trick them, handing them a serpent instead of a fish, he was the creator of their new life, and the Father of their new life. They must look to Christ life which actually exempted them of sin, and depend upon God's love as truth, while suffering in the dead flesh and its many rules.

Rom. 8:32 He who didn't spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
8:33 Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
8:36 Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter."{Psalm 44:22}
8:37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
