MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Luke.12:33,34 Make Purse Which Don't Grow Old

Luke.12:33 Sell that which you have, and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don't grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn't fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth destroys. 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Here is a basic fundamental question for all of us Christian's, where is our treasures? We have all been taught to say “in heaven”, but do we really understand the depth of Christ statement? Christ had just spoken above about not being anxious over are material things that we should not act like the nations whom concern is from birth to death in pursuing thing they will lose at their death. Their belonging, and themselves will perish.

Luke 9:58 Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

Luke 21:18 And not a hair of your head will perish.

For example, did Christ while on earth seek to have a good name enshrined by this world? Many would say yes, look how will known Christ in today's world! But actually no he did not, he sought to glorify his Fathers name, he did not seek to get his Father's name accepted by the world, Christ treasure was in heaven, his Father, and all that his Father was, was the treasure Christ sought. You see, Christ just spoke as if his Father is always with us; we can rest in our faith in him and he will take care of our every need, not even a small bird can fall to the earth that YHWH does not known of it?

Matthew 16:8 Jesus, perceiving it, said, "Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, 'because you have brought no bread?'

Matthew 17:20 He said to them, "Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
In other words, Christ words are true, and if his words are true than why would Christ compromise the truth to get people to accept the truth? If the truth cannot fail and the Father has everything under control then all anyone of us must do is have faith. The seeking of making a name for ourselves essentially is painting a picture that is perfect, in other words, a lie, placing ones treasures in ourselves upon earth instead of heaven where the truth is!

Luke 4:6 The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.

Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

John 5:44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God?

This flawed thinking Christian's often use in everything they build upon earth including religious buildings, dress, even to what they drive claiming they are making a lasting impression for non-believer. However, Christ did none of that as a faithful slave, the one known and proven faithful slaved told us by God. When a person is born again they have a position and assignment no question about it, the question is do they have faith in God leading them and directing them while they stay free of the love and glory of this world? When Christian's fret that others won't be saved or know enough through their exploits. whom are they glorifying? Christ in heaven whom promises not one sheep will be lost that our father knows every hairs of head? In other words, how were we saved, by a religion efforts by some person that just would not give up, and/or by Christ coming into our hearts when we open to him by asking God?

John6:17 and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
6:18 The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.
6:19 When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia,{25 to 30 stadia is about 5 to 6 kilometers or about 3 to 4 miles} they saw Jesus walking on the sea,{see Job 9:8} and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid. 6:20 But he said to them, "It is I”. Don't be afraid." 6:21 They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

Daily in this world companies, governments, and religions recruit they have much success, when we recruit for Christ whom have we brought into our company? But when we trust Christ as our head that he loves his sheep more than we, divine appointments will happen, we don't question those appointments, we are instead given the message from our hearts and the Spirit will do the teaching perfectly for God's will.

1Cor.3:1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
3:2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3:3 being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.
3:4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God;
3:5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 3:6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

But next Christ ask us the question who is actually a faithful servant, not a faithful leader, a faithful preacher, a faithful elder, but a faithful slave when he comes? You see our treasure are tied up with Christ our head, his kingdom, not ours kingdom upon earth, or what we can justify as doing for Christ, but our waiting in everything upon the master hand to justify, teach, glorify, give good gifts too us, we simply must believe acting when we are sent.

Romans 10:15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!"{Isaiah 52:7}

1 John 3:24 He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

Christ our Lord was not known by this world don't be fool, we have many that know a false Christ, he was not a glowing success financially, he was not given honor among religious people, he did not build lasting foundation to his name, or instruct his followers to do so. He suffered being rejected by his own generation, he was despised, by all accounts we considered him plagued of God. When we judge the truth by religious Christianity it is an absolute failure in the eyes of false religion, that is, the world.

1 Corinthians 2:6 We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown; yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing.

1 Corinthians 2:12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.

Isa.53:3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn't respect him. 53:4 Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.
