Daily Bible Thought > Rom.11:30-32. - Locked Up in Disobedience

Locked Up in Disobedience

Rom.11:30 For as you in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience, 11:31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may also obtain mercy. 11:32 For God has shut up all to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.

What manifold wisdom God has? Many see the word disobedient here and think of a religion were ones are disobedience to rule of law of the group. Causing hate fills their hearts with disrespect for the hard work of the faithful in the group, thinking this is what Paul was speaking about, but its not.

Romans 6:14 For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

Romans 4:15 For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

No! The book of Romans is about Law Vs. Christ, Spirit Vs. Law, so what locked up is all person disobedience or the faithful, and/or otherwise? The law, not those acting evil in a religion, and the removal of a member spiritually and/or physically from the group. The disobedience was caused by the law, how? No one is righteous, so laws are needed for unrighteous person convicting them of sin. All of sin and fall short of God's glory, that is, His sinlessness, so all are disobedient according to the law.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

How are they all locked up? No one can redeem a brother by their life, why? Because we all sin and fall short of God's standards of life, we all dying from sin. Without God divine intervention from above, a place of sinlessness there is no hope for the human race all found in sin. The Jews missed this point as do most Christian's. If God tells us something it not just a good idea, it is the saying of life, and if we cannot meet the law, and/or rule we fall then short of life, there is no second place, there is only death where all lose there is no in between as false religion teaches.

Galatians 3:11 Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, "The righteous will live by faith."{Habakkuk 2:4}

Matt.5:37 But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

1 John 3:9 Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God.

1 Corinthians 5:6 Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?

Once a sinner always a sinner. In other words, if you sin once and never sinned again you are a sinner. False religion tell us that we can redeem ourselves by good works, doing things for others, making us a little less sinner, and/or a better sinner. Still we are locked up in disobedience although we try really hard according judgment of the law.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We as human jail sin, how? We go to some religion, and/or program that gives us knowledge to help us stop doing some bad habit, we jail that part of our will by strong measure of some rule or law, but we do not remove the problem, we put it behind bars, and guard it day and night because it is disobedient and part of our personality for life. This is where Jews were content jailing sin not removing sin and so are many Christian's in self-righteousness by works of law. This concept is practiced in all parts of life, in religion, government, and commerce, but it's not God's righteousness which is sinlessness.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

This is the context of Roman's, the Jews rejected Christ most of them, and now unfortunately many fleshly weak minded Christian's in Christ wanted laws of flesh, and were practicing an inferior righteousness based upon sin, the laws created by human's and God to punish and jail sin temporarily.

1Tim. 1:7 desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor about what they strongly affirm.
1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully,
1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;

Romans 2:23 You who glory in the law, through your disobedience of the law do you dishonor God?

Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be!

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

7:6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

Christ removed sin completely once for all time, but not by our works or self-rightness, not by a religion, a program, but by his righteous life, how? He came from above a place of no sin, in a sinless life took on flesh, became sin for us, buying us from our old life of death and sin placing us into his new life freed of death and sin. Christ as a man, not half man, and half god, became in the likeness of sin for us, conquering this world corruption through sinful flesh of Adam found in all mankind, and was given immortality, incorruptibility by his Father YHWH, so we might taste the real life (sinlessness), and have the hope of truth and Spirit directing our life.

Hebrews 2:9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.

Galatians 5:1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don't be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Christ unlocked the jail cell killing it, removing its temporary fix, replaced it with complete freedom from sin, and its judgment by giving us his righteous life which cleanses us of all sin. We can try if we will to perfect our flesh by laws that condemn us, but there is nothing new under the Sun, and it can't work; from day one people have been judged by laws condemning sins, coming up to nothing higher, but death through sin. Yes, they have built a temporarily kingdom the flesh fights and loves by these same laws, still they are not Christ, or his life, and mixing some of both into one only corrupts the whole pie!

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"} 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
8:3 For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;

James 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.

James 2:12 So speak, and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.

1 Peter 2:16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
