1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

How does a person become sound of mind spiritually? Many have been taught by making themselves feel guilty and their neighbor in not reading their bible enough. In other words, by their own efforts they become spiritual minded, somehow, they transform themselves into the Holy Spirit teaching them.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Yet, if we are honest, and actually believe God's written word we find none of the apostles got what Christ was teaching until the Holy Spirit was poured out, at a specific time, then the Holy Spirit taught them spiritual things.

John 16:13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

Hence, from that point forward, we find gifts were given freely by YHWH through the body of Christ from the Holy Spirit to God's children. Gifts, gifts could not be gotten by hard work, because they are a gift, not earned, but instead by putting faith in God's goodness and not our own.

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

James1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. 1:18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

Does it take effort to have faith? Yes, the type, to rest and believe God “will not” withholds anything good from his children. And when we ask he gives us good gifts, not a serpent. But the question should be can we rest in our faith and stop the works of our fleshly mind that does believe any of that? When Christ returns will he find faith upon earth?

Rom.12:3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.

Most can't they want to believe by their works they can transform the fallen flesh into a variable spiritual feeding machine, and obtain by fleshly efforts the mind of Christ, so they can what? Boast in their flesh, how they get it, and they were the first to understand some point in the bible. Moreover, they are completely responsible to get their message to the rest of mankind, without their message salvation is lost for the human race.

Luke.19:39 Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"
19:40 He answered them, "I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out."

Numbers 22:23 The donkey saw the angel of Yahweh standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and the donkey turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam struck the donkey, to turn her into the way.

The entire bible according to God was written by his own will, not the will of mankind at all. The message did not originate from some man's will, but Gods, a gift of love from God to mankind. To ask God for spiritual gifts is to first believe he will give them too us. Next those gift are used to glorify God, and not us.

2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation. 1:21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

Once again the flesh is not in harmony with those thoughts. Subsequently, the flesh steals God's word, pollutes it with the sin of yeast from the fallen flesh, and then glorifies itself upon earth as righteous and teacher just as it does in all areas of mankind wisdom from government, religion and commerce. Error creates more error until the whole world has been filled with false Christian's teaching thinking the exact opposite of what the Spirit teach us, and we not teaching it.

Matthew 13:33 He spoke another parable to them. "The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures{literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel} of meal, until it was all leavened.

2:15 But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one. 2:16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?"{Isaiah 40:13} But we have Christ's mind.
