Pet.1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy became our father again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Here is the problem with human righteousness it is like yeast, a little goes a long way, it permeates into everything holy and righteous corrupting the whole lump of truth!

1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.

We are not God's children calling him Father by our own righteousness (our own will), it was God's great mercy in sending us his Son Christ Jesus without sin, without sin makes it God's righteousness (will) that we became God's son's to our heavenly Father, which sonship was lost by Adam's sin. Christ is the last Adam giving birth to us in his righteousness, his merit that gives us a father son relationship with YHWH.

Heb.1:8 But of the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom.
1:9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows."{Psalm 45:6-7}

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

This plan of salvation was conceived by God, not a human, but God, so he could gather what had been lost to him, back into a Father son relationship; lost at the rebellion in the Garden of Eden by his first human son Adam. From that point forwards for thousand's of years it was only the Christ who was the next son of God to appear on earth that God gave personal birth to, yes, birth by God himself by Spirit; the one dying for us, restoring us, to sonship in Spirit and truth with the Fathers, by His love towards mankind.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation--the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins.

No other prophet, priest, or king was a son of God personally birthed by God in Spirit before Christ. Missing that one point the bible is lost, no teaching will be free of yeast, and the corruption of human righteousness by works of law which permeated the whole earth into false religion in the first place.

Matthew 9:17 Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."

Those birthed by God have no confidence in their flesh, if they do they will teach corruption of the fleshly mind. Their home is not the renewing of the flesh day to day in building a better world which God is diametrically oppose to as light is to darkness. Their work is Christ works found within the life (of Christ without sin) given them freely by God's righteousness. Yes, they are indwelt with life, Christ life, Christ works are God's works as his Son; are we not son's also? That work is stated without blush by YHWH there is no confusion as to what his intention are, his works are. He has sworn, and he will not feel regret. God our Father is creating “all things new”!

1 John 3:5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

Revelation 21:5 He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." He said, "Write, for these words of God are faithful and true."

He is not asking us to take the old and make it new, when we do that type of work, we are in false religion that God will not share his glory with any longer in us. Our very birth speaks of the power of God's own will (working in us by the power of Christ Kingdom) in killing the old flesh. Let us not be deceived into human righteousness thinking one can study their way into giving birth to a son of God. Let us not think God needs to take the old to make the new. Let us remember soberly that there is nothing new under the Sun when it comes to mankind righteousness (sin past on by Adam). The only new thing under our Sun is God's new creation, birthed by his will and nothing of man's will! (new, having no sin birthed by God)

John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous; because I don't seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.

John.1:12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name:
1:13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
