Heb.4:2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn't profit them, because it wasn't mixed with faith by those who heard. 4:3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;"{Psalm 95:11} although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Obedience and disobedience, how contrary is our opinion of what faith is, found in 52-thousand sects of Christian's religion? The confusion over resting and not resting in faith is profound! However, we shouldn't be surprised when all false religion is based upon works of law where few are on the road of life.

1 Corinthians 1:29 that no flesh should boast before God.

It not a matter of hearing, we know, or repeating words over and over again, or the amount of reading in our bibles we do, or how many religious meeting we attend. No! It not by works, but rest, resting in God rest. Who's approval do we seek? Works of law are seen by men and woman we want to impress that we are doing enough for God, faith can't be seen, and it is opposed to our flesh, it flesh stand in a world that hates the Spirit, lust against the Spirit, and can't know the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now I say this, brothers,{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."} that flesh and blood can't inherit the Kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.

Religion is like a vending machine, you put works into and get something back, the more you feed the machine the greater the goods you get back. But its also the lurking place of every unclean bird and the demons! In other words, they sell God, the more you give the greater the blessing, and that is why so many hate religion it is superficial having no depth of love. But the truth, which few even grasp what truth is? It is, pure worship because it has no lie. Subsequently, Jesus is the truth, his “life” is where pure worship is found of God, the temple of the living God, Jehovah.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?

1 Corinthians 6:20 for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God's Spirit says, "Jesus is accursed." No one can say, "Jesus is Lord," but by the Holy Spirit.

But how do we enter into Christ? He is the door, none can go to the Father unless they enter into the sheep pen by the gate, the gate is truth, it is life, and it is Christ. There is no truth on earth for it is under the power of the evil one, the creator of the lie. Yes, we must go up, we must be resurrected into the life of Christ to know the truth, that is, Christ. But how can we do that when we are following false teachings of religion that teaches we must work our way up, by the power of our own flesh? What work must we do, the flesh scream out! Why does the flesh want to work so much? Why can it not desist from works of law, and rest?

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Rom.10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'{Deuteronomy 30:12} (that is, to bring Christ down);
10:7 or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?'{Deuteronomy 30:13} (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)" 10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;"{Deuteronomy 30:14} that is, the word of faith, which we preach:

Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

Why does the flesh make God into pay as you go? God's wrath should cause much fear for our fallen flesh, should it not? For the truth of God says we cannot please God in our flesh, it cannot be in subjection to God, or his laws, why? Simply because sinful flesh cannot pay for something that it can't start to earn in the first place. How does on take polluted water and tell it if you work real hard you can unpollute yourself? No! Lets not be foolish the water can't change its polluted state by adding more pollution that like asking leavened bread full of yeast to unyeast itself into unleavened bread, and that is why the flesh can't stop doing works of law. It is trying to get rid of its sin, by compensating a good work to remove sin, which is the lie!

Rom.7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good. 7:19 For the good which I desire, I don't do; but the evil which I don't desire, that I practice. 7:20 But if what I don't desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. 7:21 I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.

The flesh must rest, stop proving it is worthy to please God, so how does it rest? It can't, it can never stop what it was created to do from the lie, and that is to be in competition with God, as a god! The flesh must be put too death, but not by corruption, that is, other flesh, not even our own! Corruption produce corruption as does those planting with the view towards the flesh one does not plant weeds and get wheat.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

James.3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.
3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.

Resting mean being in Christ, the truth, the pure worship of God without sin, and/or leaven. But why does the writer of Hebrew confuse us with works? It very simple, really! If the corruption of the flesh, that is, polluted by sin can never do enough works, in doing good towards God and other to earn life. God must give us the works of a perfect man, as a gift, unearned by us because we can't to have life.

Ephesians 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

2 Corinthians 9:15 Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You see the idea of works of law came from Israel thinking if they became very righteous by obedient to the God's perfect law, which remember only proved the exact opposite that we could not be perfect enough to not break the law in our sinful flesh that they could earn life. In other words, at the end of their days, they could stand before God and say” “Here is what I've paid you, you owe me life, that is, eternal life.”

Hebrews 6:4 For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit.
Rom.13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

But love does not owe us anything but love, this is why Adam and Eve failed, sinning against God, everything God had done for them was out of love, freely given them, so that they might live. Once we think we can live outside of God's love than we believe the lie that God owes us something for how good we are in some work we have done for him.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.

1 John 4:8 He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:9 By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

Now, God's anointed, those born again, by the works of Christ Jesus for his Father that freed them from God's wrath were deceived by the first lie. They were turn back to the flesh, judge, put to death by incorruption the life of Christ and given a new life free from any flesh, and its judgment, hence, freed of God's wrath. But Satan was seducing some into thinking they could uses the law righteously by judging what God had declared righteous by his own Son's incorruptible life, the flesh dead in Christ by the law Christ completed for us in his own works. No! They could not rest in the works of their flesh it would only produce death, they must stop, desist from justification of something that cannot be justified the sinful flesh, it could not be made clean by perfect laws or perfect works of any religion, nothing under the Sun upon this earth could clear them of sin!

Hebrews 10:22 let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water.
1 Corinthians 6:11 Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

Rom..10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3 For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
