MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

Christian's burn out we don’t often hear that phrase much anymore, but still so many Christian’s have felt trying to keep the commandments wear them out at times. Yes, its true in a world where most people are unthankful and disloyal.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

But lets set the stage here, and what we mean by that is what is the context of Christ words above? So lets ask a question? How many commandants did God give Adam? Next do we think of a commandment as a law obligation?

Psalms 23:1 <<A Psalm by David.>> Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.

Do we feeling lacking in God’s love or in commandment?

God told Adam not to eat of the tree of Good and Evil that would be one commandment, but not many. Was that commandment a burden on Adam; would it mean he would starve, would he be deprived of God’s love in a beautiful paradise because of that one commandment, would the commandment take anything from Adam that he had in God’s love for him, and in what God had already given Adam?

In other words, in an abundance of life, with no pain, sorrow of tears, or death; nothing good was lacking for Adam in God’s love. Adam didn’t have a legal mind that wrangled every moment of the day in trying to outwit God, that is, trying not to be caught by God, like so many Christian’s actually think God is today because of so many commandants. No! Adam had total peace of mind; for where God is, that is, his love, there is peace that excels all thought, it is a lack of love that causes a lack of peace in us!

James 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus.

Jesus is the last Adam, Adam’s lack of love for God caused the first sin, and from that sin came death, came a lack of peace, came fear, came the legal mind, and many commandments!

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.

What did Jesus make clear time and again that one commandment fulfilled all the rest, and what is that commandment, love, why love? Because without love, now listen carefully, without love one cannot know God, nor can they please God because one thing takes away all evil thoughts, that is, the take away the legal mind which was created in sin away from God’s love, and what is that one thing it is love!

1 John 4:8 He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

If you love God than one loves their neighbor because God love also loves our neighbor that pretty simple, and guess what, love fulfills all commandments that the legal mind puts out in trying a case of law against our neighbor. Yes, we do, we love them legally when they prove they do us right, we love them only when they meet our commandments, oh yes we do!

Mark 12:30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.'{Deuteronomy 6:4-5} This is the first commandment. 12:31 The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'{Leviticus 19:18} There is no other commandment greater than these."

We all do, because we have a legal mind created from sin, not created in love. Adam didn’t have a legal mind to judge God or his neighbor good or bad until he sinned. There was no evil in paradise with God, nothing caused Adam harm. Adam didn’t have any fear of God or anything in paradise with God, love completed all things in paradise for Adam and his wife Eve, but after sinning he did fear God and many things did he not, he then was lacking in love, causing fear of whom, God!

Why would we think the last Adam, Christ, the one who was sent to restore paradise of God to us would give us hundreds more commandments when he died for us to fulfill the Old Law of commandments? Well, here is the truth, its because we have a legal mind, one of flesh created by sin, and we think in our flesh that we can please God in keeping all the rules of our religion, and/or the bible.

Rom. 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
13:9 For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not give false testimony," "You shall not covet,"{TR adds "You shall not give false testimony,"}{Exodus 20:13-15,17; Deuteronomy 5:17-19,21} and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."{Leviticus 19:18} 13:10 Love doesn't harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

Yet, God’s own people the Jews could not complete the commandments by works of law. No! Not one, all that the commandments did was prove they were sinners, and if they got self-righteous the commandments became measuring line upon measuring line until they burnout in the power of the flesh!

Isaiah 28:13 Therefore the word of Yahweh will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.

Isaiah 28:17 I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.

Rom.10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3 For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

That’s right until they were broken in their flesh, and their hearts were harden towards each other and God, it was God that must give them a good soft heart, not their legal mind, not what they thought was good, or evil, it was God’s power from his love that changed the heart into communing with God. Don’t let anyone lie to you, not even yourself, its God that gives us a good heart, then and only then will we know God’s love, but if not, then we must live in the judgment of good and evil, just like Adam did after he sinned and fell into darkness without God’s love!

We are not born again into the commandments. No! We are born again into Christ who fulfilled the Law of commandments by his love for God and his neighbor us!

1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.

John 1:13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew,{The word translated "anew" here and in John 3:7 (another) also means "again" and "from above".} he can't see the Kingdom of God."

1 John 5:1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the father also loves the child who is born of him.

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.
