1Pet.5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;

Humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God is vastly different than are humbling ourselves before man. Christ was humble, no one can deny that truth, why? Because God himself stated his son Christ Jesus was humble.

Acts 8:32 Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn't open his mouth.

But those that believed themselves to be humble in front of men judge Christ Jesus as haughty and proud. There is an evil among Christian’s that demand a humble person in an appearance, voice, and gesture they be exalted in their mist as leaders.

John 5:41 I don't receive glory from men.

John 5:44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God?

John 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

John 8:50 But I don't seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

Yet, but are we not told in the same scriptures that Satan transform himself into an angel of light! The humility the apostle Peter speaks to here is that of being in Christ, not in our flesh that has no humility in it, our humility is in our being in Christ, and why is that true?

Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

Because in Christ Jesus we have died in our flesh, it has been put to death in Christ, and we are raised in the Spirit. Our old man has nothing good for Christ in it, Christ is a new creation that becomes responsible in making all things new in heaven and on earth. We ourselves are a new creation because Christ Jesus in our life, we in him, and him in us.

Colossians 2:20 If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,

Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

2 Timothy 2:11 This saying is faithful: "For if we died with him, we will also live with him.

Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

Humility in Christ is like a fire to our flesh, it is a fire to this world, it destroys corruption of sin, it has no love for this world and the its showy display of its means for life. God did not create a world of corruption God created paradise without corruption of sin.

James. 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"?
4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}
4:7 Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's.

To humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God we must be willing each day to die towards the world, our friendship, our families, our business, our lively hood, our own dreams and hopes that is the humility of Christ, not ours in our flesh.

Matthew 19:29 Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.

Christ conquered all that and if we are in him it is ours as will, he gladly provides us his faith, his love, his humility, for Christ is the head of the body, we are the body what goes to head goes to all the body.
1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

1Cor. 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,
3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

In due time we will be exalted into the complete glory of Christ in his incorruptible body, set free from the corruption of flesh on earth to experience the complete and everlasting freedom of Son’s of God.

Rom.8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;
8:17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.
8:19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
8:20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
8:21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
8:23 Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.
8:24 For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?
8:25 But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience.
