Roman's Chapter Six

Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.

Sin’s Power Is Broken

Rom.6:1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
(Living English Bible 2007)

How has the power of sin been broken? Can mankind break the power of sinning by obeying the laws, and commandments of God? No! Mankind cannot break the power of sinning by obeying any laws of the flesh, what are the laws of our flesh? They are laws that point up and convict us of being a sinner born from Adam the common father of the human race.

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

John 7:19 Didn't Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill me?"

Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
So what are humans to do? If they are born sinners and cannot deliver themselves by works of law, what is a work of law? A work of law is gaining a reward for meeting the requirements of the law through a good work, but if the law only condemns us as a sinner, not a non-sinner than works of laws are pointless we cannot be saved by them.
Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"{Deuteronomy 21:23}

Subsequently, the power of sin must be broken by God because all men are sinners and they have no power within their own will to stop sinning by God's righteous laws. But how has God broken the power of sin over us? Here than is the point of Paul's argument with those putting faith in the very power of sin, the Law. How can the law be the power behind sin? It is because where there is no law neither is there sin. Yes, the power of God's law is to point out sin in us proving we are a sinner from Adam.

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.
Romans 5:13 For until the law, sin was in the world; but sin is not charged when there is no law.

Hence without the law conviction we are not a sinner. In other words, if a righteous man could fulfill the laws of God for us and than God imputed this man righteousness too us we would be free from the conviction of sin of God's law.

This legal action on God's part would be undeserved kindness, a priceless gift of His own love towards us. We could never deliver ourselves by any means, but by the gift of God's love, Christ Jesus. Moreover, we would be accounted dead to sin, how? Because Christ Jesus removed the law judging us as a sinner by his perfect righteous blood. But the question the legal mind wants to know, and pounds like a drum over and over again by its legal judgmental mind is, how can we not sin if we are sinners? Moreover, with the law removed, we are still a sinners, are we not? How can we be without law, which punishes sin?

Romans 4:15 For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

This sounds like and excuse for loose conduct to the legal minded Christian having no faith in Christ Jesus, the finish works of God. First, one must remember God is the lawgiver and judge, not mankind of what sin is and how mankind is convicted of sin. God also sets up the price to pay for our sins, rather we believe Christ Jesus is the end of the law or not!

Romans 6:14 For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

Isaiah 33:22 For Yahweh is our judge. Yahweh is our lawgiver. Yahweh is our king. He will save us.

James 4:12 Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?

Secondly, we must be delivered from death, and its power, which is beyond human control, and why is that? When Adam sinned he past his sin onto the human race, but he also past on his fleshly mind alienated from the mind of God. Mankind cannot have the mind of God because he is a sinner convicted of being a sinner by God's righteous laws. Thus, mankind is found in death permanently, without the love of God showing him kindness, and away too salvation, out of sins death.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those whose sins weren't like Adam's disobedience, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come.

What is the fleshly mind? It is a mind set upon laws of the flesh, in which mankind has built the kingdoms of this world, and all the components that make up his society, business, religion and government. Mankind can know no other way, because he is hopelessly stuck in a sinful mind that cannot know God, but by laws that punish him for being unrighteous, as a sinner!

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

Now, however, the apostle Paul speak of grace, undeserved kindness and/or unmerited kindness of God in freeing us from our deserved judgment by God's righteous laws used for the wicked. What is wickedness to God? It is a practicer of sin, one that cannot stop practicing sin is wicked to God deserving of death by his righteous standard, this is why when sin entered into the world, all men thus, sinned, so all men must die.

Galatians 5:21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

But God freed mankind undeservingly by the gift of Christ Jesus precious life, how did God free us? By Christ completing the law for us. So we are no longer a sinner “in Christ Jesus”, what does this mean? It means, we are grafted into Christ Jesus imperishable life, which is life; he being resurrected by his Father YHWH into immoral sinless life giving him incorruptibility, that is, he cannot be tempted by the corrupted by human sin, or the mind of the flesh set upon wicked judgments, as our King of Eternity.

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

Romans 5:17 For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.

Christ Jesus is eternal life, we must be grafted into his life, to be sinless before God, what does this mean? It means we have receive his life, which is sinless to be made sinless, that is, there is no sin where there is no convicting of a person sin. Christ cannot be convicted by laws made for sinners, which were made for the wicked because he never sinned, even in his flesh upon earth.

Galatians 3:22 But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

Hebrews 4:15 For we don't have a high priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

1Pet.2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you{TR reads "us" instead of "you"} an example, that you should follow his steps, 2:22 who did not sin, "neither was deceit found in his mouth."{Isaiah 53:9}

So what is left? Grace, which means undeserved kindness of God, we are an unrighteous sinner without merit before God, so Christ earned merit for us, which God gave too us by our faith in His goodness. So now that we are freed from sin, should we sin for fun, as though we have a free ticked from God to sin, and our sins cannot be accounted against us because Christ completed the law for us?

Romans 6:16 Don't you know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, his servants you are whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?

The Drum of The Legal Minded Christian

Here we stand at a cross roads, a dichotomy if you will! The legal mind, which was past on too us from Adam, because of his sin, and he being the father of the human race. This legal mind cannot know God, it is alienated from the mind of God, and is dead too it. So only those having the gift of God's grace could possibly understand what Paul is speaking here in any real meaningful terms. However, the legal mind does not believe that at all, it believes the mystery of God must be legally unrevealed by the laws of the flesh, that is, of its own mind, which is dead to the mind of God.

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

It is much like teaching a dog to obey commandments of humans, and because it can, we reason it thinks like a man, so it is with the legal mind, because it is intelligent, and can read the God's word the bible is must assume that it is spiritual, which is a lie! Why a lie? Because when the bible is revealed by the legal mind it is a lie against the spiritual mind of God. It cannot know God so neither can it understand the truth and Spirit of the thing.

Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be. Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.

Subsequently, the legal mind must believe grace is wicked, weak, and/or an excuse for Christian's to act wickedly without the power of the law controlling them. Hence, they come under the power of death instead of the power of Christ Jesus by grace, not realizing that sins laws are for the wicked, and not those made righteous by being graft into the body of Christ Jesus.

1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
Two Minds

We have only two minds in this world, one mind is the mind of the flesh creating the world we live in, and the other is the mind of Christ Jesus freeing us from the laws of the flesh, or the laws of the flesh mind past on to all of us by Adam sin.

John 17:14 I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

We can gain the mind of Christ Jesus because he paid off the law for us with his own righteous life, earning us merit before God, provided with stay in Christ Jesus life, that is, his righteousness, and not our own by laws of the fleshly mind.
John 5:26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

John 14:20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

Christ Jesus in real terms becomes too us the last Adam the father of the human race giving us the mind of God that Adam and Eve lost for us by their sinning.
These two minds are light and darkness opposed to each other, one must die for the other to live.

1 Corinthians 15:45 So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul."{Genesis 2:7} The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Speaking of Grace

Let us speak grace to those mature in Christ Jesus by the mind of Christ Jesus, not the mind of the flesh set upon punishing the wicked by law for the sin. First, God gave us grace so it cannot be wicked or weak, nor can it be an excuse for loose conduct for God's children, how do we know this?

Romans 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Because love never fails, and what does this mean? What it means is? God gave us His own love through the life of Christ Jesus, which is powerful in freeing us from the fleshly mind set upon the laws for the wicked, but how?

Let us recall we cannot free ourselves from death, and the mind of death a legal mind set upon judgment of the wicked in this world accept through power of the life of Christ in us giving us the his mind.

Romans 1:4 who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 6:14 Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
