The book of Hebrews

Chapter 6

Heb.6:1 Therefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on to perfection--not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, 6:2 of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

The starting point for Christian's are the primary things of Christ they are stones of a foundation of repentance from dead works, so what are dead works? The law that Christ fulfilled, these are the stones leading to the Christ, which are now dead. Christ becomes the perfection of our faith by Spirit and truth. Please don't get this backwards putting the primary stones as the identifying mark of Christ!

1Tim. 1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;

We cannot lay again a foundation of repentance from dead works, that is, kill the Christ again, and/or over and over again because we cannot meet works of law which demanded innocent animal blood upon God's ancient altar under the priesthood of the Jew's temple of God for forgiveness our sin against the law. There is no place to go from here, accept that we accept the Christ as our life atoning for our sins, if we return over and over again too dead works which were put to death with Christ, we too will become dead to the life of Christ.

Romans 5:10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those whose sins weren't like Adam's disobedience, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come.

Romans 5:17 For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:21 that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

False religion has put the primary stone of repentance from dead works as it head stone of their religion, boasting in self-righteousness by meeting the commandments of God under the law. However, they cannot perfect themselves by works of law, they must be perfected in Spirit and not the flesh, which flesh is dead in Christ. One cannot perfect a spirit person by laws created for the sinful flesh to punish it! Have you ever thought of that?

Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:9 knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him!

How can a person resurrect their dead flesh in Christ, and punish it by laws for the sinful flesh, and perfect the spirit? How can adding yeast from laws for sin increase the Spirit of God in you? If you are dead to the law in Christ than you are sinless, if you are sinless you are under the new covenant, which means under love, now this is the identifying mark of Christ and his body members.
John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Please do not get this backwards, repentance from dead works does make you right before God. What makes you right/righteous before God is the sinless life of Christ given you as a gift of God love by His great undeserved kindness, any thing less than this is a dead work buried with Christ.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

Romans 8:10 If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

1Cor.1:29 that no flesh should boast before God. 1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 1:31 that, according as it is written, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord."{Jeremiah 9:24}

Heb.6:3 This will we do, if God permits.

Here is a mark of truth, none of us can move ahead from Christian's immaturity into a spiritual man/woman without God's permission, it that simply. In other words, were a person, religion, or ourselves teaches others we have progressed by our own good hard efforts we have not progressed at all. One is still in the primary doctrines of Christ Jesus, unwittingly deceived by works of law.

Hebrews 4:10 For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

Ephesians 2:9 not of works, that no one would boast.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

John15:4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 15:5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Christ is the head of his own body, the body member are not detached having many bodies, of truth, or religions, or heads. The body is feed through Christ Jesus headship, it has one mouth not many to speak words of eternal life. It has one faith distributed to all body members, who's faith? Christ Jesus, the heads faith, not many faiths, making one, no! One faith, one baptism, one God, one headship over his body members. We are in one house, one high priest, all eating the same spiritual food, drinking from the one rock-mass of Christ Jesus. None of which this great spiritual temple of God can be seen in brick and mortar of any religion. Subsequently, if the houses of religions world wide are stuck in the primary doctrines of Christ teaching, calling such teaching the cap-stone of truth, it should not surprise any of us.

Heb.12:3 For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. 12:4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don't have the same function, 12:5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

They've forgotten the very first step, none of us by works of law can become a mature Christian's, and this was Paul point here! The Jews seem to have greater wisdom through the law, a law taught for thousand's of years compared to the Christian's. Hence, if Christian's go back to works of law they could not progress into a mature Christ simply because Christ is not flesh. One must approach God and Christ in faith, faith in the unseen kingdom not seen or felt by human hands or sight.

Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

This Kingdom of God, supplies each body member the fruit of God's Holy Spirit, for without Holy Spirit neither can we move into a spiritual person away from the judgments of sin by dead works, into the new person free of such judgments, by faith in God's promises and not the laws of the flesh.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Here than is the entire issue of Paul writings, stop judging by the fleshly mind unrighteousness, move into the mind of Christ freeing us of law judgment, accepting God's undeserved kindness a free gift and stop boasting and justifying our spiritual growth by personal good works. The first and last step for all Christian's.

Romans 6:14 For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

Heb.6:4 For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, 6:5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, 6:6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.

Legal minded Christian's so abuse Paul's words here that the entire meaning is lost to works of law in legalism. Not thinking they are legalistic they judge anyone not accepting their works of law religion as once enlightened crucifying the Christ openly too shame. When in fact, the only shame is upon their man made religious organization, not the Christ at all!

John 19:6 When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, "Crucify! Crucify!" Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him."

The apostle Paul here was speaking in a letter to the Hebrews not a legal document set up to defended in a court of law mankind's injustices. The issue at hand, and in most of the Greek writings was legalism by Jews trying to enslave the Christian's congregation into the Old Law. But as Paul explains how could one impale the Christ again? He died once for all times, one precious life, one lamb of God putting away the judgment of our flesh, what? Yes, our flesh representing our sins under the law, which laws are created for convicting us of sin, our flesh now dead in Christ, why? Because there exist no law to judge us if the flesh is dead, the sinful flesh paid the price for sinning, death, death in this case in Christ Jesus life.

Romans 3:20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law, worked in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

Romans 8:3 For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh.

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.

Now those that have tasted this gift of freedom from judgment, in the body of Christ, could not impale Christ again, they could not go back to animal blood and atone for their sins, where would they go for such freedom? What unrighteous people allows for freedom of judgment anywhere upon earth, none! No court of law in any land is going to pass-over our deserved judgment when we violated the law of the land. Where indeed would these brothers and sister go, if they went back to works of law, which proved they were unrighteous and sinners?

James 2:12 So speak, and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.

Galatians 5:13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don't use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

No Christian's should be fooled in this serious matter of Christ precious blood pour out for our sins, we are not here talking about killing Christ over and over again each time we sin, do you really understand this? Such unrighteous conduct is repentance from dead works, such conduct is practice by false religion when sinning against their rules and laws, but it has nothing to do with Christ precious life given us freely.

Hebrews 7:27 who doesn't need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself.

Hebrews 9:26 or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Christ put away our sins, once for all times, because he removed the thing causing us too sin the law, where there no law neither is there sin accounted against us. Yes, we still sin, but its removed by Christ fulfilling the laws of sin for us. That removal is once for all times, its good, sealed in the blood of Christ, God is not going reopen an old contract fulfilled, and completed so we as a Christian's can live by works of law.

Romans 5:13 For until the law, sin was in the world; but sin is not charged when there is no law.

Romans 6:14 For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

Romans 6:7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.

Romans 6:10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.

Romans 6:11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Heb.6:7 For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it, and brings forth a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God; 6:8 but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected and near being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

Each of us should uses decrement when reading God's word the bible, not being legalistic willing to destroy a person spiritual life over words written thousand's of years and taken out of context. Context mean all the scriptures discussing the verse written in our bibles so we can get the full import of the writers message. Out of context means using a verse or two like an attorney building a case for a clients agenda.

The writer of the letter of Hebrews purpose was to show the Christ as superior to the Old law, its that simple, this is the context of the letter to the Hebrews. If God waters something it will grow not a new message, but one known since Adam and Eve lost the waters of God, that is, contact with His Holy Spirit being put out of the garden of Eden into a curse land where thorns and thistles grew! What are these thorns and thistles? They are the condition of mankind fallen into sin, creating unproductive land of thorns and thistles, which are hard to deal with, and live with, frankly.

1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

John 4:10 Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

Sinful human are not the tree of life, nor what they create as god's. Christ Jesus producing only good fruit having no thorns or thistles. The law was good and righteous, but it could not remove the thorns and thistles created by our sins, what the law did was give the power too our sins, because the power of sin is the law. The law brought each of us under a judgment, a judgment we could not get out of, proving we are not god's, but instead an unproductive land of thorns and thistle, producing no good fruit at all for eternal life when compared against the Christ the new law of the new covenant, the tree of life.

Matt.7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. 7:16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? 7:17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. 7:18 A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. 7:19 Every tree that doesn't grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.
7:20 Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.

In fact, the Jews had been mislead about the laws purpose in thinking it would produce a paradise for them, but it did not, what it did do was show mankind's sinfulness. Those believing the law produce life, and/or paradise of life found instead a deception, and an illusion of the tree of life, where ones go to pick, and eat of mankind's fruit in government, religion, and commerce, getting instead bloody fingers picking its fruits of life.

Now at this writing, God law had watered Israel for thousand's of years, so where were its productive lands of everlasting life? There were none! But just a small remnant of Jew's putting faith in the true paradise tree, eating of his everlasting life, as the bread of life, Christ Jesus.

John 6:32 Jesus therefore said to them, "Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn't Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven. 6:33 For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world."

Subsequently, the context of this writing was; go back to the law of thorns and thistles judging yourself and others wicked proving we cannot be righteous by the law, and/or move into the Christ having your judgment removed and accept the tree of life, Christ Jesus, and produce works of eternal life.

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"} 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

Heb.6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things for you, and things that accompany salvation, even though we speak like this. 6:10 For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

Our heavenly Father has a purpose for each of his children born of His reproductive powers the Holy Spirit. Let us not assume as many do in unrighteous world that God is quick to withdraw his love for his children. Let us recall the beautiful things of God like the story of the prodigal son whom spent his inheritance defiled all of what his father given him and stood for. Yet, upon retuning to his father, the father opened his house and restored his son and rejoiced greatly over having his son home.

Rom. 8:37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No! God is not unrighteous as men are, his love does not fail or give out like our love under the power of sin where we are forced to make people earn our love in order to protect ourselves from being ruined. In context Paul has been speaking of the power of Christ God's promise to us. Hence, God 's Word, Christ, will have certain success unlike those watered with the physical law given to Moses producing nothing but death for those thinking they could be proved righteous by law, even God's law. The big picture in context Paul to words is, he is arguing the superiority of the Christ over the written law of Moses. Where the law failed the Jews, producing thorns and thistles instead of a paradise of eternal life, Christ Jesus God's Word would not.

Isaiah 55:11 so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

Christ life would take the nation of Israel from a physical nation into a spiritual nation how? Because all those dead in Christ Jesus are not judged by the physical laws of God for sin. They now would be considered sinless, declared righteous, having not their sinful flesh accounted against them in judgment. But here many had not mature in Christ coming to realize this superiority they had gained. Instead they were fleshly seeing the power of the flesh in using condemning laws practiced in the earthly temple service.

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"} 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 8:3 For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;

Now Christian's must accept by faith that the old heavens and earth (Jewish system of things) were completed for God's purposes being w rolled up set aside for the superior life of Christ the spiritual temple where their sins were atone for once for all time not year to year. God could not forget works done through his son Christ Jesus, because those works are righteous, because Christ Jesus life is the righteousness of God's temple, which temple are his body members.

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Heb.6:11 We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end, 6:12 that you won't be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherited the promises.

What a vast difference between God's promises and a works of law, a promise require of us faith, whereas, a work of law demands a payment for works performed. The writer of Hebrews here was not saying work harder towards keeping the law, commandments, and/or a rule of your religious group, no, not at all!

Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work

He was stating the truth in Christ keep your faith in God's promises, rest in the hope, trust in God's promises like Abraham trusted in God for a child in his old age, the promise seed. There was no work of law that Sarah his wife past child bearing years could give birth by, it was faith in God's power.

2 Corinthians 12:9 He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.

Here than is the vast difference many fall into, putting faith in a work of law, what does that mean? It means a Christian's is told by a group that they must perform some work to be pleasing to God, the rule is taken from God's word the bible. But they find some days they can do the work, and next they can't.

Faith on the other hand, means putting faith in God's power, and not what we can perform, there is a vast difference between the two. The scriptures tells us we cannot put away the filth of our own flesh, but works of law preach you can. However, when a person is honest, and try they find God be found true, and all men liars. One finds themselves standing as Abraham did, beyond human power, requiring faith in God's power in Christ Jesus righteousness as good enough atoning for our sins, and not our own efforts.

Hebrews 11:11 By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.

Many have been sorely disappointed in building up the power of self, in obedience to a group laws. Whereas, God's promises require us to put our lives in His hands, in His unseen promises, and His power despite our greatest fears of failures. Trusting God is indeed good, and we are not, and its is His love that saves us, not our own. This then is the real meaning of the writer of Hebrews message, not going back to works of law, but rather God's promises in Christ are superior, and will not fail us, because Christ is God's love, the power beyond the failures of our sinful flesh!

Hebrews 7:16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

1 Peter 1:5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;

Rom.6:13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he swore by himself, 6:14 saying, "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you."{Genesis 22:17} 6:15 Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

The foundation of our world stands on one thing, which is the power of the law. The laws of the nations determined the strength and fiber of society itself. If the restraint of the laws of the nations is removed the entire systems crumbles under its own weight! But the foundation of God own Kingdom stands for us Christian's in a promise, requiring an act of faith, do you comprehend the vast difference?

Hebrews 12:27 This phrase, "Yet once more," signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. 12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe.

Flesh is flesh, the power of the flesh is law, tangible laws judging and measuring the flesh every action good or evil. The power of the flesh is to put faith in laws, laws of government, laws of commerce, and laws of religion. But the spirit put faith in unseen, not in sight, smell, or material things of this world. The chasm is huge, and opposed to each other as light is too darkness.
You see, a promise require trust for the person making the promise, its not a law one can reach-out and touch. A promise test our hearts and minds against the depth of our love for the person. Hence, it perfect our faith in God.

Col.3:1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
3:2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. 3:3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 3:4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.

However, a law, that is, for the world of the flesh judges distrust for the person making the promise. Thus, creating a right, a recourse if you will, for legal action towards the person violating the law. Faith requires the giver of the promise to love us, and trust us despite our own failures. If the giver of the promise reverts to laws judging us in our flesh, the promise cannot be kept, because its no longer by faith, but a work of law.

1 John 4:19 We love Him, because he first loved us.

A Christian's has really two choice each day, one is to pick up their bibles and judge others by works performed against God's laws, and/or put faith in the promises made too them by God. Correcting someone as the keystone of truth does not does not mean the person has anymore faith in God's promises, or that we have strengthen their faith in God's promises.

1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation--the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins. 4:11 Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.

Walking on water is far harder! Who of us can walk on water despite our failures is the real question? Certainly not those judging by laws that condemned all of us as unworthy of walking on water. Why would God make promises to human that could not keep his commandments if he did not love us? No human makes promises to others if they don't obey their rule of law. Let each of us seriously consider how we teach, do we teach faith, or faith in performance of meeting laws?

1John.3:20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 3:21 Beloved, if our hearts don't condemn us, we have boldness toward God; 3:22 and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. 3:23 This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.

Both faith's have a reward, one reward is here and now in our flesh with good results, but the other requires strength from the power of God in Christ Jesus to stand up and walk on water despite our greatest fears of condemnation waiting patiently in endurance on God's good name.

1John3:24 He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Heb.6:16 For men indeed swear by a greater one, and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation. 6:17 In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath.

A contract between two or more parties, which can be taken into a court of the land, the law of land will uphold the wording of the contact in favor of the injured party for a legal claim. Subsequently, a promise or an oath has be establishes in written form known as a contract. Moreover, an oral contract for certain items can be upheld by a court of law sometimes up to a year. But is this Paul's point here? Not really, the apostles Paul point is, God/YHWH said it, thus, it is good, unbreakable, and everlasting, because He cannot lie. Nor will circumstance of age, economy, or death, change the promise, oath, and/or covenant of God.

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.

James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers. 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

Jesus says to us that we should not swear by heaven or earth, rather we should let our yes mean yes, and our no, no! Why? Because anything in between our yes and no is from the evil one. Humans because of sin, that is, cannot be trusted to keep their word, constants justifying themselves by promising or swearing an oath, later and almost always is changed, or not kept all together. This constant is our human nature, but a Christian's we should know our fallen fleshes desires, and not justify them, by looking at Christ.

Rom. 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.

1Cor.11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. 11:29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn't discern the Lord's body. 11:30 For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. 11:31 For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn't be judged.

God is not flesh, and certainly not sinful flesh, his promises our not based upon irrational fears of losing something if he does not promise to give us something. In fact, as brother, and sisters in Christ we are to know no one by flesh any longer, we are to walk in Spirit and truth, understanding the judgment of our sinful flesh, warring against the spirit of Christ indwelling us. Fears of our flesh are dead in God's eyes, we are not acting underhandedly making promises from fear of our flesh any longer.

1Cor.1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not "Yes and no," but in him is "Yes." 1:20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the "Yes." Therefore also through him is the "Amen," to the glory of God through us. 1:21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God; 1:22 who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

If we come to understand the truth in us we will than know Paul's point here of how unshakable God's promises are. But if we are fleshly, living by fears of our flesh, that is, by works of law, acting and treating our brothers and sisters in Christ as though they are in a legal contract with us, instead of love. God's promises will be found meaningless and empty as are most promises of humankind.

1Cor. 1:24 Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

Heb.6:18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.

True Faith is not easy, most of the human race has failed, or are failing in having the type of Faith God speaks to here. Many have conjured up a faith based upon obeying a rule of a certain religion, thinking if they meet that rule of conduct they are acceptable in faith to God. Such rule of conduct can be from eating certain foods, to how many meetings a person attends a week, or how much money they give. Not that these things are easy, but they are not the faith the Holy Spirit speaks to here.

Romans 3:27 Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what manner of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 3:28 We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

The writer of Hebrew speak to two immutable things we as Christian's can put faith in. 1.) the promise to Abraham an oath, and 2.) a guarantee sealed by the highest of all life, God Himself as our creator. But both of these immutable things are not tangible like going to a Christian's meeting where men and woman can commend a person for good conduct in showing up.

Romans 4:16 For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

Many in organized religion has convince members by support, and meeting their requirement they are putting faith in God's promises. However, the faith the writer of Hebrew express here cannot be known by mankind, this true faith is known only between two parties ourselves and God, nor can it be judged by works of law, such as meeting a rule of a religion.

Romans 9:32 Why? Because they didn't seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;

Subsequently, this is why the writer of Hebrews under Holy Spirit spoke so boldly, and bluntly about these early Christian's faith, many were wanting tangible proven works of law so they could judge the faith of others, and condone their own faith in the sight of men. Moreover, this is why Christ made the profound statement to his disciples, asking them when he returned, that is, the Son of Man would he find real faith upon earth? This faith goes beyond the yeast teachings of religion which sets itself up as the Lord of a person faith, instead into a heart God has put His Holy Spirit in, and giving a son of God a measure of faith that conquers all that is in this world.

1 Corinthians 2:5 that your faith wouldn't stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Let no one be confused here, these early Christian's had a religious an empire, the greatest in world God's temple and nation of Israel, today Christian's have an empire of religion(s) are we seeking man's approval or God's by faith?

2 Corinthians 1:24 Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

Heb.6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil.

Why is real faith so difficult? Why, in this instant, those who were closes to Christ while he lived on the earth needed constant reminders of walking in faith, standing in faith? Will, the truth is there are millions of lesser faith's people confuse with real faith each day. These lesser faith may all profess faith in God and Christ but they all hold one common denominator, do you know what that is?

Luke.18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

That denominator is sight worship, and this is the problem the newly formed spiritual nation of Israel was dealing with just as the physical nation of Israel dealt with in clamoring for a physical king over them instead of YHWH. Nothing new under the sun when it comes to the desires of the sinful flesh. Within a few short years the entire congregation of God's anointed would succumb to weed Christianity being over-sown by false Christian's building massive institutions of worship so they no longer had to walk by faith, in the unseen Christ.

John 5:41 I don't receive glory from men.

John 5:44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God?

This state of a counterfeit yeast kingdom of God would exist until the end of our own world expressing in the most serious terms the power of the sinful flesh in walking by sight and than deceiving itself into believing it has real faith. Fleshly minded Christian's must have mans approval through some sort of visible approval committee without it they have no real faith in God. Those whom are of the same nature fleshly love the power and attention robing themselves in garb of great understanding and holiness happily taking such positions.

Luke 4:6 The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.

Mark 10:37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory."

The Jew's were sight worshiper they idolized their temple above God and the reason for the temple; powerful groups control the temple and it was politics as usual. The same is true of all of Satan unrighteous kingdom's rather they be found in people controlling others lives, a religion, business or government they all have a common denominator worship of power found in men hiding behind position in giving men/woman approval. A Christian's approval does not come from man they can encourage us, but they cannot approve our faith or our standing with God. These Christian's were once again clamor for man's approval, as the old flesh does, but it is the Spirit that is truth the seal of God's approval requiring faith in his promises that accounted them righteous with God. Such strong encouragement to stay in faith not going back to works of law through some earthly representatives was the key.

Matthew 6:2 Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don't sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.

2 Timothy 1:13 Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Heb.6:20 where as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Where does the wind come from, today we have much science explaining how the wind is formed, why it stirs up, how fast it may or may not go and in which direction, but where does in come from? Melchizedek is one of those mystery like the wind, little is known about this man, there is much speculation of who he actually might have been, but still God present us with a mystery, why?

Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind goes toward the south, and turns around to the north. It turns around continually as it goes, and the wind returns again to its courses.

Christ came into our world, he was not from below, but above, a world that is a mystery to us born into sin. Although born as a sinless man, he received a spiritual birth at his anointing, making him the bread of life. Some think it is their bibles that is the bread of life, but its not, it is Christ the very mystery picture by Melchizedek and the wind, require faith.

John 3:8 The wind{The same Greek word (pneuma) means wind, breath, and spirit.} blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

John 6:23 However boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

John 6:31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, 'He gave them bread out of heaven{Greek and Hebrew use the same word for "heaven", "the heavens", "the sky", and "the air".} to eat.'"{Exodus 16:4; Nehemiah 9:15; Psalm 78:24-25}

John 6:32 Jesus therefore said to them, "Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn't Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven. 6:33 For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world." n 6:34 They said therefore to him, "Lord, always give us this bread."

Our human race gives no credence to people without linage or paper work proving their accomplishments, but here God deliberately points to a man having no heritage, a power a mysterious King Priest. Those of flesh have spent years writing and researching Melchizedek to somehow make him legitimate in the eyes of world, but the whole book of Hebrews is about the unseen and faith in it, not faith in the seen the system of things of Jew's under the temple and its priesthood, but where God takes nothing of man and makes it into everlasting kingdom of Christ.

Heb.11:1 Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. 11:2 For by this, the elders obtained testimony. 11:3 By faith, we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible.

Here is the message God does not need the help of human hands, to create a kingdom, he does not think as we do from a fleshly sinful mind, God does need the stamp of man's approval from religion, books, intellects. God does as He pleases, and what pleases God is our faith in Son Christ Jesus, and Christ is not ashamed to call us brothers, having no earthly mother or father, but born again of wind, the Spirit of God making us part of the real life.

Heb.11:36 Others were tried by mocking and scourging, yes, moreover by bonds and imprisonment. 11:37 They were stoned.{2 Chronicles 24:20-21} They were sawn apart. They were tempted. They were slain with the sword.{Jeremiah 26:20-23; 1 Kings 19:10} They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins; being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated
11:38 (of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth. 11:39 These all, having had testimony given to them through their faith, didn't receive the promise, 11:40 God having provided some better thing concerning us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Heb.12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, 12:23 to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 12:24 to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant,{Jeremiah 31:31} and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.
