The book of 1 Peter

Chapter 2

1Pet.2:1 Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking, 2:2 as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby, 2:3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious:

How can a Christian's put away the filth of their flesh, the filth Peter mention here? According to God's word there is only one way, do you know what that way is?

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Yes, it is by our faith in requesting a clean conscience from God, in the resurrected Son of God, Christ Jesus. When a Christian's sets up any other god/standard, a work of law, going to a Christian's meet, a book, including God's word the bible, they have not put away all wickedness, deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and speaking evil, but why?

They are wittingly or unwittingly choosing for themselves what is good and what is evil making themselves into a god instead being made clean by God's one channel for salvation Christ Jesus. In other words, they are lying to others by teaching them one can put away the filth of their own flesh my self-hard works, or good works in meeting some rule. Which simply means they have made themselves a judge of good and evil of others by their personal judgments. Lying claiming those judgments are God's because they were taken from God's word the bible.

Forgetting, they cannot put away the filth of their own flesh by any self-means, it requires the life of Christ to do so. Either a person accepts the truth of God's undeserved kindness, and/or they deny it, by doing works of law, and teaching others the lie. If we could have availed ourselves of a clean conscience by commandments Christ would not of had to die for us redeeming our sins so we can stand before God with a good conscience.

Galatians 5:4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."{Leviticus 19:18}

Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

If we have tasted the Lord is gracious lets stop lying to one another living in hypocrisies, denying the Christ, because we want credit for some work we are doing in the name of God, and/or Christ. Let speak truth with each, and our neighbor in love that nothing good dwells our flesh but filth and death. It is Christ life that is good and righteous that saved us out of our deserved judgment. It is God's love and good works of undeserved kindness that gives us clean standing before Him.

Rom.7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good. 7:19 For the good which I desire, I don't do; but the evil which I don't desire, that I practice. 7:20 But if what I don't desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. 7:21 I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present. 7:22 For I delight in God's law after the inward man, 7:23 but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members. 7:24 What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God's law, but with the flesh, the sin's law.

1Pet.2:4 coming to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious. 2:5 You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Christ Jesus is the foundation upon which all Christian's are to build their faith upon. He is the city of the living God the new Jerusalem above, Christ is God's great and illustrious Spiritual Temple, but, one point so often over looked by legalistic minded Christian's is Christ is the a living stone!

John 6:47 Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

This statement by the apostle Peter is the force behind every word he spoke and wrote to brothers and sisters in Christ, what it is not, are dead words/works spoke from the bible, or pictures of Christ. nor movies of Christ to make him alive in our memories, Christ needs none of these, because he is life! He is the living active foundation of God's temple which sanctifies the Father names to all the nations of our earth. In other words, truth cannot be lost by the confusion of false religion that deludes itself with sight worship of men, institutions, and/or idols. No Christ the Truth cannot be lost because he lives, not in mere perfunctory thoughts of man read from the bible or books about him, but in those anointed by God's Holy Spirit as living stones of God's temple.

John 5:39 "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

John 5:40 Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.

Here is Peter point, it was not one word Peter spoke, but the very witness of truth found in each anointed Christian's heart, what truth? The life of Christ Jesus indwelling them as truth, the witness of God, whom God is, not what people thinking God is by written word. But truth as it is, the life of Christ which tells us the truth of our Heavenly Father. These brothers and sister lived by imperishable life indwelling them from the Truth. Unlike the constant consternation of most Christian's today searching through vast volumes of religion teaching/books to fine a hint of Christ personality, so they can worship him.

1 John 5:20 We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

Christ is a living stone, needing no one to make him real in a fleshly minded person heart or mind, by repeating his name or the Fathers name over and over again, making them real by hard wiring the brain into their own uncircumcised heart. Christ lived through these first century Christian's as living waters to those with faith whom listened, he continues to live in son's of God until Christ comes forth to take out wheat Christian's from among the weeds.

John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn't listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

1 John 5:6 This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

1Pet.2:6 Because it is contained in Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, and precious: He who believes in him will not be disappointed."{Isaiah 28:16} 2:7 For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected, has become the chief cornerstone,"{Psalm 118:22} 2:8 and, "a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense."{Isaiah 8:14} For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.

Why is the Christ so offensive to the Jewish faith, and offensive to most Christian's in our world? What is it that makes them water down the Christ into a meaningless idol? It is that Christ added nothing too their world, he adds nothing to mankind's system of things. If Christ were not forced upon the world seen of his time, the Jewish faith, none would have given him consideration, because there was no gains in Christ for their world. In other words, Christ did not come to reform their world, but instead stand in opposition too it by his life.

John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome{The word translated "overcome" (katelaben) can also be translated "comprehended." It refers to getting a grip on an enemy to defeat him.} it.

When a sinless person, the Christ, speaks, their action are in complete harmony with the truth. Subsequently, Christ actions, and words condemned us as sinner out of harmony with God. Moreover, Christ life and words condemned the god of their world, Satan, for his world was founded upon the first lie creating a massive lump of leavened bread producing death for all those eating of it. Christ stumbled idol worshiper, those Jews whom put faith in the legal mind of the law, which is a fleshly mind set upon judgment of leavened bread and all those eating of it.

John 3:21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.

Exodus 13:3 Moses said to the people, "Remember this day, in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand Yahweh brought you out from this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten.

Yes, blinded by the legal mind of people eating from the same laws that built this world, and which knits it together, laws created for the sinful flesh. Christ added nothing to this unleavened bread, he was different holy, righteous, and clean, separated of mankind's corrupt laws for sin, for he was without sin, the unleavened bread of God. Hence, rejected for being of no worth to their material gains, rejected because his words made no sense when weight against that which knitted their world together. Rejected as offensive, stumble over, because he was of no value to their life and world, thus we consider him as nothing.

Isa. 53:3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn't respect him.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"} 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

Christ present was so powerful upon earth that even the Jews in all their combine efforts with pangs could not stop the witness of Christ Jesus life. Subsequently, Satan was defeated by Christ life on this earth, so he set about corrupting, watering down, the Christian's faith into little more than idol worship, making into a yeast kingdom where the practices of the flesh our condone by religious words of lawyers of faith, but still religion is nothing more than the same system of things of leavened bread as our world.

1 Corinthians 5:6 Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?

1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed in our place.

Thus, we find a very perplexing question from Christ for those of this corrupt system of things boasting in the Christian's faith, and what is that? Christ ask a question of the sheep and the goats at the end of our world, but neither know the answer of when they have done good, or bad too Christ brothers? Now please contemplated this thought incorporating words above, and you will know why neither knew the truth of Christ life indwelling his brothers upon earth.

1 John 4:5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

1 John 3:13 Don't be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

1Pet.2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: 2:10 who in time past were no people, but now are God's people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

The apostle Peter was a Jew from Israel a chosen people, but here he talks about in times past they were no people, but why? Peter spoke too Jews and Gentiles alike, so why did he uses such wording that they had not been a people until Christ called them into the wonderful light? The Jews were not in the wonderful light, they were however under the Laws of God, which law blinded most of them to the wonderful light of Christ Jesus.

John 1:9 The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

John 3:19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.

When Moses came down the mountain after receiving the Law from God the nation ask Moses to veil his face, the glory of God was too much upon Moses striking fear into the hearts of those fleshly minded Jews. But these Jews and Gentiles alike reading the apostle Peters words need not veil their face to the new covenant the new law written not on stone by hearts by God's Holy Spirit. They had went beyond the law into the promises of God receiving the life of Christ Jesus indwelling them, they were the light of the world.

2Cor.3:7 But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which was passing away:
3:8 won't service of the Spirit be with much more glory?
3:9 For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 3:10 For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses. 3:11 For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory. 3:12 Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech, 3:13 and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face, that the children of Israel wouldn't look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away. 3:14 But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away.
3:15 But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
3:16 But whenever one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.

They were not a people separated from God by laws, rules, and/or commandments, their judgment was put away from mundane laws of our flesh, judging evil? They were a new people created by God's own hands, untouched by sin. They were a holy spiritual nation without flesh, their flesh was dead in Christ, hence, making them into the temple of the living God, a membership in the Great High Priest Jesus Christ. They were the wonderful light a holy nation a royal priesthood, not alienated from God by sin and the laws judging sins. Christ life now indwelling them tore down that wall making peace through himself with God for us. We now receive the righteous life of Christ Jesus by faith, not works of law!

Eph.2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 2:9 not of works, that no one would boast. 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
2:11 Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "uncircumcision" by that which is called "circumcision," (in the flesh, made by hands); 2:12 that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. 2:14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition, 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace; 2:16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility thereby. 2:17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.

1Pet.2:11 Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 2:12 having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.

No part of the world, as Abraham lived in tents as foreigner or pilgrim in the land, waiting upon God's promises in faith, so are God's living stones in this world. Many Christian's try to make an everlasting name for themselves in a world or system of things they are no part of, because of lacking faith in God's promises, they want a secure place in the history of mankind. However, the apostle Peter says we are just passing through of little, or no value to the land or the people living life as though its the only they will every have in this world. Than Peter speaks words that may shock legal minded Christian's which we are to abstain from fleshly lust, but why?

Genesis 12:8 He left from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh and called on the name of Yahweh.

2 Corinthians 5:4 For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

Shouldn't people like Peter and these first century Christian's be free of such lust of their flesh, if they were strong Christian's? In other words, after many of years of faithfully applying the rule of law shouldn't our lust be contain where we have none? Moreover, why would Peter need to remind us at all isn't this one of the primary doctrine of the Christ, repentance from dead works?

No none of this makes much sense to the logic of the fleshly mind, but to impute evil too others by laws created for our flesh. However, let us be mindful here that our flesh is dead in Christ, meaning without judgment. One does not dig up a dead body drag it before a court of men to judge it back into death, now does one? These brothers and sisters were living stones with the life of Christ giving power to their mortal bodies still in the fleshly tents, like a pilgrims living as foreigners of the land, temporary aliens, not a part of this world. Freed as it were, from the laws of this country, the world.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts. Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

They were not being judged by laws of the flesh, their flesh was dead to God's judgments, they were not being judged by what they drink, or ate, where they lived, by something considered dead in God's eyes their flesh. Now if we take the apostles Peters words from this context they make perfect sense, yes! Remind the brothers and sisters not to uses this freedom in Christ as an excuse to sin, offending those people of the world living by the laws of the nations. God does not condone evil, he has not freed us to make us workers of unrighteousness. But on the other hand, neither let us become like the world judging by laws of sin created for death our brothers and sisters, so that we become the world.

Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We are freed from judgment of our flesh, but yet residing in our flesh having lust, which flesh is our temporary tent, but let us not condone lust of our flesh, let us live in faith, walking in Spirit, that is, the mind of Christ, our truth knowing these sufferings in our flesh perfects our faith causing us to live no longer for the will of men, in our flesh, but to the glory of God by our faith in God's promises of a better city having real foundation for us.

2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;

1 Peter 4:2 that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

1Pet.2:13 Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme; 2:14 or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well. 2:15 For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

Freedom in Christ is a meaningless phase if enslaved to men and their laws of the flesh. Are we set free in Christ? Free from judgment of all man made laws in Christ, yes! This is the point of the apostles Peter's admonishment here. If these brothers and sisters hadn't gained freedom from judgment of sin, which are the laws convicting us of sin, than this whole discussion would be pointless.

Titus 3:2 to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men.

Did Peter imply abject submission to men over doing God's will here, no, not at all. He stated that because we have freedom from judgment of man's laws, does not mean we can willfully disobey the laws of the land giving the impression that we are a lawless people as Christian's.

On the others, Peter himself walked on water against laws of nature, he walked out jail against mankind's laws. Peter as will as us should always put God's Spirit lead direction first in our lives, which sometime conflicts with mankind's laws.

Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ.

1 Peter 4:2 that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

What Peter nor any of the apostles of Christ were advocating was not abject submission to creeds of government rules, or religious rules
thinking our obedience too them would make us righteous or more pleasing to God, no! We are pleasing because of our faith that puts us into the body of Christ Jesus, having one law of freedom, but because we live in our flesh we must obey the laws of the land so that our witnesses in not a meaningless hallow hypocritical Good News.

1Cor.4:1 So let a man think of us as Christ's servants, and stewards of God's mysteries. 4:2 Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful. 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by man's judgment. Yes, I don't judge my own self. 4:4 For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord. 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

So many Christian's have taken Peter's words here and enslaved themselves by rules of Government, and/or religion compromising the Christ in pleasing men justifying it as a legal obligation, which is false. We are set free in Christ because he completed the judgment of our sinful flesh, by his righteous life, given too us freely. When we accept that gift, we are dead to judgment of sin, but we still sin; we are no longer judge by a law for sin, being in Christ.

Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

Romans 6:11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This freedom is not an excuse to be disrespectful of any mans conscience, rather that be in government, religion, or commerce, we are ambassadors substituting for Christ respectfully obeying the laws of our land. We are not wicked proud ambassadors flaunting our immunity for gains of wickedness, we have a message of reconciliation through peace with God. However, at the same time we advocated for God's Kingdom fearlessly as its representatives first, we do not allow ourselves to become slaves of men, just because they hold legal power over us, nor do we rebel against their authority because, we have freedom in Christ from their judgments.

Romans 6:13 Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

1Pet.2:16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.

Here Peter present a real circumstance that law Christian's totally miss, in that, they are busy judging by works of law like the legalistic Jews did, and what is that point missed? If a person is free from judgment in Christ Jesus, that is, as sinless than Peter words makes perfect sense. But if a person is not free from judgment as Jew and legalistic Christian's teach, and believe, Peter's words are pointlessly confusing!

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

Either we take the bible in context or we don't? In context those in Christ are sinless, or their not? Legalistic Christian's teach that it is their personal obedience to rules, laws, and commandments, of both God, and Christ that they are working towards not being a sinner. Which one do you believe? If you believe as Peter, and the apostles taught, which was they were sinless, declared righteous for being “in Christ” then your understanding of Peters words here are much different than legalistic Christian's who are working hard towards not being a sinner.

John 17:2 even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him.

1 John 3:5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

The context is if we are free from sin, that is, sin not being charged against us by our fleshes disobedience than don't uses this freedom as a cloak to do wickedness, we are bondservant of God who is sinless, and righteous. Now Peter did not teach as legalistic Christian's think? Which is, Peter would be acting presumptuously in saying the power of Christ made him sinless, nor did he say, or any of the apostles say that because a person is sinless they deserve it by some good effort or quality they possess. Those judgments are fleshly legalistic judgments from a fleshly mind, they are not God's judgments or His thinking at all!

Rom.8:13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 8:15 For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba{Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven.}! Father!"

1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him.

The legalistic mind gets confused in thinking they have a choice in the matter of God's plans for us in Christ, why? Because the fleshly mind cannot know God, or the things of God which would include their interpretations of the bible. God used Christ to remove our deserved judgment of death for being a sinner, He either did, or He didn't, but you cannot have it both ways!

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit to God.

1 John 3:9 Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God.

The power of sin is the law, God had Christ complete the law, that is, fulfill it requirements, abolishing its power over anyone that accepts Christ by faith. Our accepting his righteous blood completed the law, and laws of the flesh, which judges our flesh filthy, and evil, as a good for nothing man. Now we stand in a new life, who's life? Not our old life, which is dead in Christ, but Christ Jesus life, a living imperishable spirit life. Thus, this is the life God declares righteous, not our life, we have become Christ life, by adoption into the body of Christ, hence, undeservingly declare righteous.

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Galatians 3:5 He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who doesn't continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them."{Deuteronomy 27:26}

Rom.2:17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

There's one thing true of all humans under sin, we swing from two extremes, but seldom on point. Fleshly minded persons can honor people in position of power, but seldom their neighbor. They can honor a great person, but not their mate, or a family member. Honor is not a small word, it is a powerful word that seldom understood in this world of so much dishonor. Honor we show the least of these Christ brothers is the bases for judgment of human race.

high respect; esteem.

"his portrait hangs in the place of honor"
synonyms:
distinction, recognition, privilege, glory, kudos, cachet, prestige, merit, credit; More

Modern day Christian's have take a right that Christ nor his apostles ever took in dishonoring those they disagree with, hating them with judgmental words, calling down evil upon them, and even slandering their good name to prove a religious point. But where do such rights come from, when the apostle Peter here stated we must honor all men, not just tolerate them, but honor them, as someone we respect?

Titus. 3:1 Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 3:2 to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men. 3:3 For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 3:6 whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

Those rights come from an erroneous understanding of the bible and/or a religion. However, what these Christian's fail to understand when taking such rights, they have unwittingly put themselves into a position of a god judging by laws that condemn themselves before God. The reason people fail to honor others is because of a stolen legal right. No human being is justified before God by a legal right, they are not justified by the bible, or a religion, this mistaken understanding is at the core of religious division that has always existed upon earth.

James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.{or, Hell}
3:7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind. 3:8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God. 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. 3:11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water? 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water. 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.

There is only one way to be justified before God, and that is in the life of Christ Jesus, and if a person is in the Christ than they honor all men, because they have the personality of Christ indwelling them. God is impartial he does not see the flesh, but our spirit, Christ Jesus, is at God's right hand being given the position of King over all mankind. Hence, Christ is impartial, as he was to each of his body members the apostle Peter was speaking too here.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

Here than we have uncovered the truth of why we fail to honor all men because we are judging the flesh of others, thinking that by our judgments God is judging their spirits the same. In other words, we are walking by sight, and not spirit in such judgments, which is a faulty understanding of the truth. Have you ever noticed that in Christ Jesus our flesh is dead? Now think about that statement, and ask the questions, if the flesh is dead in Christ, and it has no value at all, what of the spirit?

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

Why is the flesh dead in Christ? It is because God says its irreformable because of sins. So God in his great mercy removed our judgment of our flesh, so he could save us in spirit. Subsequently, judging the flesh is like beating a dead horse, the horse can't do any work, it is dead. Why do Christian's beat up on other humans flesh when it is of no value at all in doing the work of God's Spirit. It is because the dishonor what God honor the eternal lives of each one of us.

Jude 1:9 But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you!" 1:10 But these speak evil of whatever things they don't know. What they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, they are destroyed in these things.
1Pet. 2:18 Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.

Suffering is difficult, but a life time of suffering is most unbearable, yet, Christian's are called to such a course. Why would a person suffer at the hands of unrighteous person, why would they subject themselves to a master that is wicked? Will, its not because they are trying to prove themselves righteous, like Christ, earning merit with God/YHWH, no! It for a much better purpose, it is because of the person that indwells them with a truly righteous life, their master Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn't respect him. 4. Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.

Those belonging to Christ understand, what comes into their lives is not happenstance it is for a purpose, what purpose, they may never know upon earth? But it will workout for God's glory if they endure it until Christ in them conquers it for them by faith. So often we give God a bunch of reasons why he should remove a particular trial out of our lives, but the truth is God does not remove things in our lives, he conquers them through power of life indwelling us, but why?

1 Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "Don't fear what they fear, neither be troubled."{Isaiah 8:12}

1Cor.1:29 that no flesh should boast before God. 1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 1:31 that, according as it is written, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord."{Jeremiah 9:24}

Simply put, he is not glorifying us, but training us, disciplining us, perfecting our trust in him. This cannot happen without suffering in our flesh as Christ Jesus did. The flesh, test the spirit in us, which refines us not like false religion thinks, and how is that? False religion thinks in terms of becoming a better person in the flesh, to them that is the key to success upon this earth, but its contrary to the perfecting of the spirit which is opposed to the flesh, the two cannot exist in harmony. It is this violence within each child of God that we seize the kingdom of God.

Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptizer until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.{or, plunder it.}

Subsequently, a child of God is chosen from the founding of the world, the life indwelling them has a purpose, the highest purpose upon earth they can rest in faith that each person and trial that comes into their life is for God's purpose. Hence, if they loose that spiritual decrement, chaos will ensue until they submit to the trial allowing God to work in them until he says its finished.

1 Peter 4:14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.

1 Peter 1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

1Pet.2:19 For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

Many have suffered terribly because of someone else conscience, and not their own. Many have gladly taken others consciences in the name of God since Christ walked this earth, thinking they had done a noble thing. But here Peter makes the point it is commendable when we suffer unjustly because of our own conscience toward God, but why?

1 Corinthians 10:25 Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience.

Titus 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Our conscience is an act of faith toward God it commends us or condemns our faith before God.

Let us not be fooled here we can assert our conscience over others causing their own acts of faith to be defiled. Many have suffer endlessly by teachers promoting false doctrine outside the Christ, but because it was mandatory to accept these teachings to be a part of a certain group, personal consciences suffered bitter destruction of their faith in God when exposed as lies.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Sadly, some Christian's believe our godly conscience is formed by laws of the flesh, and not the life of Christ indwelling them by Holy Spirit, there is a vast difference do you know why? We are freed in Christ from laws of our flesh, our flesh is dead in Christ, not its desires, but its judgment. Hence, a conscience trained by meeting rules, laws, and commandments is a fleshly conscience repenting from dead works. This fleshly conscience is how religion forbids certain conduct, which is directly contradict by the bible, such as forbidding certain foods, worshiping on certain days, how many meetings one attendants the list is endless. None of which is clean, or righteous before God, but instead declared clean and righteous by a defiled conscience pushed off on others as obligation which cannot please God at all!

Romans 2:15 in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them)

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Our conscience can only be clean before God through faith in love, what does this mean? It means shockingly, a person can have very little knowledge of God or the bible, but love God doing acts of faith which are condemned by religious people, and approved of God! In other words, because we feel strong about a certain point that same point can become evil if we force others conscience into obeying it. This point is difficult for many, but the power of sin comes from the law, now one must determine which law the body of Christ is under? If one believes its under the power of sins laws, than they will defile many consciences believing forced worship is acceptable too God.

Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

Romans 8:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 3:20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

Romans 14:4 Who are you who judge another's servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand, for God has power to make him stand.

On the other hand, a much harder course is required if one believes the body of Christ is freed of sin and live under the law of love. This requires faith in our not judging each other by laws of sin, but putting faith in God's love that through the operation of God's Holy Spirit as a Father he will correct us according to Christ conscience.

Romans 14:10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Romans 14:22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who doesn't judge himself in that which he approves.

1Pet.2:20 For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.

God's house is under judgment, Peter himself alludes to that judgment upon the temple class within his letters. God's judgment upon Christ body members is not with death in view but life. The apostle Paul further states that when a body member of Christ builds upon any other foundation than the Christ they will suffer lost as through fire, but they themselves will be saved.

1Cor.3:11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 3:12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble;
3:13 each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is. 3:14 If any man's work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 3:15 If any man's work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire. 3:16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?

In other words, God's works are not depended upon human hands nor is judgment for his son's, why? Because God despite man has removed his judgment from the body members of Christ Jesus. In this context, and only in this context will the scriptures make any sense. When Christian's read into the scriptures law and judgments, a rightful judgment we all deserve, they cannot comprehend the basic teachings of the Christ, they are instead stuck in dead works leading to repentance. God's children will endure suffering, they will suffer for wrong choice, that is, because of their fleshly minds, false religion, and of misinformed human's regarding God's calling of them.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

But let not a members of Christ own body become persecutors of other members by self-righteousness! In other words, suffer for good or suffer for bad reason, nevertheless, a member is in God's hands, and it will come out to God's everlasting glory. Here Peter says, how much better that suffering be in the sight of men if it is for the right reason. Hence, as Christ suffered for God's glory. What he did not says is: “if a member suffers for the wrong reason they are everlastingly condemned cast out, and not a member of Christ and someone else must take their place!”

1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.

Man's failures do not become God's judgments, none of us can stand before God in our own good works claiming them righteous. We instead stand because of Christ righteousness, a gift unearned. Such implies the salvation of God's chosen one were never in our hands, not even our own salvation. If we live, we live in Christ, and for God, we do not belong to ourselves, let us not become the owner, or rulers of our brothers faith.

Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came and said to him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?"

Matthew 18:35 So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don't each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds."

1Pet.2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you{TR reads "us" instead of "you"} an example, that you should follow his steps, 2:22 who did not sin, "neither was deceit found in his mouth."{Isaiah 53:9}

Simply put, there is nothing fair about being in Christ? None of us like to suffer being treated unfairly, but being a part of the life of Christ we will suffer, and be treated unfairly by the world, which would include misguided Christian's. The apostle Peter here gives no other option than he outlines for us how Christ suffered, but why?

Matt.5:10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. 5:11 "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Frankly, there is a vast difference in suffer for Christ, than there is suffering because you are a legalistic Christian's, and what is that? No matter whom you are if you have a message in today's world, some one will oppose you, hate you, because of your stance. Most messages are taking a right from someone else, which means, the opposing side thinks by your message you are going to infringe upon a personal right of theirs. These types of messages are legalistic message, which reduce or take others rights away.

Matthew 7:22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'

1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

But the message of Christ, that is, the good news, does not take rights from others because its a message of love, under the new covenant. It rather frees us and gives us eternal life and peace, so why is it hated? The truth not taught by legalistic Christian's is, because those having such a profound message of hope are indwelt with the life of Christ, his righteous opposed by Satan the god of this world. Such suffer is not fair, nor can a person be a part of the life of Christ, and not be opposed by darkness.

Acts 18:6 When they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook out his clothing and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on, I will go to the Gentiles!"

2 Timothy 3:8 Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.

However, its is what we are called to, we do not used every little circumstance declaring it persecution, as many in the world do, including false Christian's. We are not creating guilt in other by a martyr syndrome, no! If the Holy Spirit in Christ is found in you, than suffering for Christ glorifies God's good name, and will produce certain good result in yourselves and in others. We will not pay back injury for injury, or evil for good, that is, declaring legal rights found in our bible as justice against those persecuting us. We will as Christ committed ourselves to him who judges righteously.

Matt.5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor,{Leviticus 19:18} and hate your enemy.{not in the Bible, but see Qumran Manual of Discipline Ix, 21-26}' 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, 5:45 that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same? 5:47 If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same? 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

1Pet.2:23 Who, when he was cursed, didn't curse back. When he suffered, didn't threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

Have you ever noted when Christian's fight, that is, argue most uses a scriptures to put down their opponent? Christ often corrected those that came after him to distract from his message, but he did not go looking for trouble. In other words, many Christian's do not understand what cursing is, they think in terms of foul language, but cursing can be judging others with the law.

John 12:47 If anyone listens to my sayings, and doesn't believe, I don't judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

In fact, often the bible speak so this type of cursing for Christian's where they themselves have been freed from the curse of the law, and return evil, by cursing others with it. In other words, it much like the self-deception politician's use when verbally destroying their opponent calling it just good politic. Christian's often uses similar thinking as long as they call down evil by using God's word's it's holy and good. But Christ didn't do that, his heart was not full of evil for his opponent's, he did not sin and return evil for evil calling it righteous and good.

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who doesn't continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them."{Deuteronomy 27:26}

Many Christian's cannot understand when the scriptures clear state that Christ judge no one. Than they read elsewhere Christ correcting people making it sound like he was judging? Christ did not judge people under the law, the law that he was completing by his perfect life. In fact, much of why Christ was murder because he forgave sin, an impossible thing according to the law, sin could not be forgiven it must be atoned for by blood. Let us not return to the curse of the law, by mistakenly judging others by it, thinking it God's righteousness returning evil for evil. Rather let us bless others with Christ.

Luke 5:21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"

1Pet.2:24 who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

The law did not heal us, even at its best it was limited in healing sin, it point out sin, proving each of us ours sinner the every person mouth was shut by God righteousness law condemning us into sin and death. There was no sound spot found in any human, or the nation of Israel, it could not stand in its personal works of goodness, it stood in one thing God great mercy found upon the altar in blood!

Isaiah 57:19 I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Yahweh; and I will heal him.

Matthew 13:15 for this people's heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and should turn again; and I would heal them.'{Isaiah 6:9-10}

We were however healed by Christ righteousness under the law fulfilling its judgment upon us. We are not healed by meeting some rule or law from our bibles or even a organization of religion. But how were we healed. Sin is what separates us from God and life, its that simple, we cannot be healed until we can commune with God, having righteous intercourse with His everlasting Holy Spirit. The nation of Israel could not do that under the law. Hence, they were not healed they were partially their by the blood of innocent victims animals so they could stand right before God. But Christ own righteousness meant the law on all points being a sinless man, he finished what no human could do since Adam fall into sin receiving the reward of the law eternal life, thus completing is for us, as our newly adopted father.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,{NU omits "to heal the brokenhearted"} to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

Now Christian's stand in Christ “righteousness”, he passes his righteousness on to us as God's children, there is no other righteousness, before God, don't be confused here, most religion's don't make a distinction between the laws righteousness, and Christ's righteousness. In fact, they mixes the two into one calling it good, but anything outside of Christ is corrupted by leaven of sin, not producing eternal life. If we are to be healed, it must come from the great healer Christ Jesus through his sinless life as our High Priest.

Romans 5:17 For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ. 5:18 So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life.

1Cor.1:29 that no flesh should boast before God. 1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

1Pet.2:25 For you were going astray like sheep; but now have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer{"Overseer" is from the Greek episkopon, which can mean overseer, curator, guardian, or superintendent.} of your souls.

Some have read the apostle Peters words here and thought those going astray meant before a person knew God, but the truth is all of us were going astray, even the Jews whom were called God's people, how can that be? Will as shocking as these might seem to some, unless these brothers and sister were in Christ they are going astray. Moreover, this is true of many calling themselves Christian's through some organized religion!

Rom.9:27 And Isaiah doth cry concerning Israel, `If the number of the sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, the remnant shall be saved.

Factually, Christ as a Shepard of our souls is not knowledge given through some group of men and woman calling themselves by a certain religious name in separating their doctrine(s) and knowledge from other groups of religious groups, no! It is rather an adoption as a son's of God, into the body of Christ where the head of the body Christ transliterates a person into the mind of Christ, which is the law of love. Simply put, this is why the Jews themselves were going astray being lead by the self-righteousness of the law instead of true righteousness of God's law, which is faith in the blood of an innocent victim.

Rom.9:26 "It will be that in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' There they will be called 'children of the living God.'"{Hosea 1:10}

You see, true righteousness comes from faith in believing in God's mercy, God mercy expressed in the innocent blood the law allowed for a standing of righteousness before God, that is, in atoning for sins against God's righteousness, which was the law. Those having faith went from righteousness (law) into the righteousness of Christ by faith. Now all of us by faith in God's/YHWH righteousness found for us Christian's in Christ, we can come back to the Shepard of our souls.

1Cor.10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3 For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Sadly, so many have not, they find their judgment of righteousness in works of law through some religious group, which really means in the simplest words, what man judges by their interpretations of God's words the bible, if a person is righteousness or not. Subsequently, this is the precise reason we now have some fifty-thousand sects of Christianity. Each group judging righteousness by laws of their religious group, and not the Christ.

Rom.10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'{Deuteronomy 30:12} (that is, to bring Christ down); 10:7 or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?'{Deuteronomy 30:13} (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)"
10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;"{Deuteronomy 30:14} that is, the word of faith, which we preach: 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

But to return to the Shepard of our souls we must turn to true righteousness found only in Christ, his righteousness standing in faith of our judgment being completed in his perfect life, not upon us proving we are righteous before God by self-effort, Christ is the effort, Christ is the righteous innocent blood, and we are left with is our faith in God's mercy, called for us Christian's undeserved kindness.

Romans 1:17 For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."{Habakkuk 2:4}

1 Peter 3:18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.
