Sin is Lawlessness

1 John 3:4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.

Is any and all sin lawlessness to mankind rule of law? Absolutely not! But here we are faced with a profound teaching of our bibles, the apostle John tells us by God's direction that sin, any sin is lawlessness. Why such a chasm between mankind's law and God's standard of law? Let us make clear God's standards are truth no lie can exist in the truth of God.

Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

The word lawlessness means in context being without law, not necessary breaking the law in certain degrees as is mankind standard of lawlessness. To be without law, that is, not having a law over oneself is lawlessness to God, everything than the person does without law is lawlessness.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

1 John 3:9 Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God.

The next question in context to the letter of First John, what law is the apostle John talking about? John is specific whom his discussion is for, not the world, not those in the world, and not for those under the laws of this world, but point specific, to God's anointed children under the headship of Christ Jesus.

Galatians 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

1 John 4:5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.

He speaks to those under the law of Christ none other, all others are lawless, without Christ rule over them. In other words, what make a person not lawless in Christ is their headship at God's choosing of the person. Which would mean those in Christ are not lawless. They are under the law of the Spirit and not the flesh, the law of the Spirit is love, that is, the new covenant which is where God's law originated from.

1 John 3:1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.

1 John 3:13 Don't be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

In Christ there is “no sin”, subsequently no lawlessness that is God's standard of truth and love, not the standards of this world. When religion, person, or a group applies the laws of this world, that would be, all laws outside of Christ to the new covenant they are adding yeast to the teaching of Holy Spirit, the law of love.

2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

1 John 4:21 This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.

1 John 4:16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

Those intellectualizing being in Christ as a doctrine, not a truth, not a reality of being born again by the Holy Spirit they think not with the mind of the Spirit, which is Christ Jesus mind, but instead wittingly, and/or unwittingly, by the mind of sin the flesh adds yeast by laws not binding upon “in Christ”. This is the apostles John point some were teaching other rules and laws calling them the law of Christ the Spirit of God in Christ. In other words, more was needed than God's anointing to teach them the truth of the law of the Spirit, love. What did they think was needed according to these fleshly minded person outside of the new covenant, lawless?

Proverbs 1:8 My son, listen to your father's instruction, and don't forsake your mother's teaching:

Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

1 John 4:8 He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:9 By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

Laws for sins in the flesh binding those in Christ to works of law making them once again captive to the power of sin, by laws for sin convicting it and punishing sin. What did these brothers need to remember? They are sinners in the flesh, proven by God's righteous law given through Moses, but sinless, by the law of Christ given to them under the new covenant. They could not stop sinning in their flesh, it must died, and come under a law of the Spirit in Christ, for them not to be lawless.

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

2 John 1:9 Whoever transgresses and doesn't remain in the teaching of Christ, doesn't have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.

Romans 6:10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.

Romans 7:6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

2 Timothy 2:11 This saying is faithful: "For if we died with him, we will also live with him.

In other words, simply put, they were sinless in Christ because he is freed of all fallen flesh, and law of death for fallen flesh, but their living in the flesh still upon earth they could not stop sinning, so God accounts them without sin in Christ the Spirit, to resurrect the flesh once again back to its debt, and all the laws of this world would not make them sinless, and/or cleaner, it can't, it is only God's law in Christ that gives them true freedom. They must become mature in Christ separating the flesh from the Spirit.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

They must remember there is no need for anymore commandments than the “one commandment” Christ stated completed all rules and laws upon this earth, to love one another as he loved them, love is truth of eternal life, the law of life, the kingly law, and it is light! Listing and convicting each others in various degrees of laws and commandments states, but one thing? We are not living in love. Dividing the Christ into many rules is lawlessness, and bring one into and excuse not to love by uses of works of law.

Rom.13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
13:9 For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not give false testimony," "You shall not covet,"{TR adds "You shall not give false testimony,"}{Exodus 20:13-15,17; Deuteronomy 5:17-19,21} and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."{Leviticus 19:18} 13:10 Love doesn't harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 2:9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now.

1 John 2:10 He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.

Sin all sin, is lawlessness, it lacks the Christ, that is, being in Christ where there is, or cannot be sin. Working hard not to sin in our flesh does not put us in Christ. It is Christ righteousness, not our that puts us in Christ. It is God's love, in freely forgiven our sins in our flesh which is the power behind the kingdom of God found in Christ Jesus who is our kingly law.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you. 4:11 Don't speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. 4:12 Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
Colossians 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;

Ephesians 3:7 of which I was made a servant, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.

Rom.8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter."{Psalm 44:22} 8:37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
