What is a reality? Well, it not a hope, its not a dream, its not a place in a book, and its not words about something in the future. A reality is right now, something we are living daily in, it is not in the future after we earn a degree.
Yet, for most Christian's in saying “Christ our reality” is anything but a reality, it is an unreality waiting for a future event, after leaving earth, or dying, but not living in right now. So Christ our reality is something most Christian's are working for on earth by living a good life to gain Christ as their reality at the end of this life in a paradise in heaven or upon earth.
Romans 3:3 For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
Traveling to a Distant Land
When a project is finish then it becomes our reality after the planing and work. When ones travels to a distant land the planning and the excitement of the trip is a real joy, the anticipation of finally seeing a place longed for become a reality when finally arriving.
Romans 4:5 But to him who doesn't work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
Has Christ arrived for Christian's, or is it still a future hope? A distant land we must find and plan for to reach? Actually that is the crux's of the whole question, is Christ now our reality or future, the answer might just surprise you?
Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'{Deuteronomy 30:12} (that is, to bring Christ down);
1 Corinthians 15:17 If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
For most Christian's if honest they speak and act like Christ is not a reality, but oneday will be in their life, they are planing and working to make Christ their reality in the future.
What Reality Lost?
When and what reality was lost between God and man that he must send us his Son Christ Jesus? God was a reality to Adam, he was not a message written in a book called a bible, or an ancient scroll, God was reality to Adam. Adam was created directly by God, God breathed into Adam the breathe of life, he educated Adam in the ways of righteousness. Moreover, and most importantly God talked to Adam daily which sustain Adam spirit life with God.
1 Corinthians 2:5 that your faith wouldn't stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
That defines perfectly what was lost for mankind there is the reality that must be restored to the human race. The question is, did Christ restore that reality for his disciples?
Galatians 3:22 But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Ephesians 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Truth and Spirit
Reality is truth and Spirit for Christian's, the Spirit that Adam lost, and the truth from that Spirit that sets all matters straight with God's mind. Adam lost the personal thoughts of God's mind, why? Because God's Spirit which teaches us, was lost because God's Spirit is holy, righteous, scared without sin, its that simple. There was nothing in Adam after sinning to bring him back or to make up for sinning; corruption from sin permeated the whole lump of Adam's life making him unfit to commune with God's Holy and righteous mind.
1 Corinthians 2:16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?"{Isaiah 40:13} But we have Christ's mind.
Colossians 1:21 You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works,
Adam became unfit for God's righteous sinless work that Adam was created to do, that of, being the father of a sinless human race worshiping God in Spirit and truth.
John 8:51 Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death."
Romans 5:12 Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those whose sins weren't like Adam's disobedience, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come.
The reality lost because of corruption of sin, no one could know the mind of God in reality, His mind was not on paper, or in a story, or what someone speculated God's mind to be, mankind did not know the truth any longer of God. Mankind to live eternally must be connected to the source of eternal life, but to do so, one must have no sin. Where indeed could that be found on earth, all fall short of God's glory, that is, having no sin, lacking eternal life is God's glory free of sin. None could be found, not one could be found to father a sinless human race on earth.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
Psalms 49:7 none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him.
Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Yahweh weighs the motives.
Proverbs 20:9 Who can say, "I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin?"
Christ The Reality
Christ was God's reality for mankind, he brought us truth and Spirit allowing us to commune with the source of life. Christ replaced Adam as the perfect sinless father of the new human race.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:45 So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul."{Genesis 2:7} The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
But what Christ did not do, is restore Adam life by resurrection removing the sins of his flesh back to the father of the human race. No! God was creating all things new in heaven for mankind, and upon the earth. God was not salvaging the sinful flesh of human beings. God did not put new wine (Spirit) into old wine skins, he put new wine into sinless people made righteous, that is, without sin into his own body, the new Adam.
Matthew 26:28 for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
Luke 5:36 He also told a parable to them. "No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.
Luke 5:37 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.
Luke 22:20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Now human had the mind of Christ, the reality and reflection of God perfect incorruptible mind, if they put faith in Christ they had his eternal life given them and indwelling them teaching them by God's Holy Spirit, they became the temple of the living God, because Christ is the temple of pure worship in Spirit and truth, and they have individually been born again new into Christ their headship.
Heb. 1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 1:3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Romans 8:21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Colossians 1:15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
The trip completed, the finish project done, nothing goes beyond the works of God in Christ, the reality is ours not waiting, or worked for in some good actions we do as Christian's to gain some further reality. We should speak and act as we are in Christ our reality we are not going to a foreign place, or waiting to learn a new language of the spirit world which we are part of now as Christ our reality.
1Cor.3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, 3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's. Our lack of faith does not remove reality, our searching for the latest new biblical information does not change the reality of the Holy Spirit teaching Christ body members in truth and Spirit. The question isn't if Christ is reality, it is, do we have the faith to make Christ our reality?
John 5:39 "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.
2Tim.3:7 always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 3:8 Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.
So many are teaching Christ on paper, not living in them as truth and Spirit, but on paper in a ancient scroll, in a religion, in a doctrine, in anything dealing with the old, in the flesh, by sight, sound, and touch, but none of that is Christ our reality.
2Cor.3:1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you? 3:2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3:3 being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh. 3:4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God; 3:5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 3:6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Stop and reason, how can one be in Christ as a body member and not communicated directly with the head and still live in Spirit and truth, or be a part of his body? Why then indeed would someone claiming to be part of Christ and nullify the power of Christ life living in them for a book, a man, a teacher, a religion? Sadly, it is, they are still chasing the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, they have not arrived, they are lacking in reality, they are searching for food to feed them, as though Christ lacks, as though those in Christ are starving for something new when they are new?
Matt.24:4 Jesus answered them, "Be careful that no one leads you astray. 24:5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray.
Matt.24:23 "Then if any man tells you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or, 'There,' don't believe it. 24:24 For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
Matt. 24:28 For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures{or, eagles} gather together.
Matthew 24:26 If therefore they tell you, 'Behold, he is in the wilderness,' don't go out; 'Behold, he is in the inner chambers,' don't believe it.
John 6:49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
John 6:58 This is the bread which came down out of heaven--not as our fathers ate the manna, and died. He who eats this bread will live forever."
They are searching the scriptures hoping to find the gold yet, they refuse to come to the manna the bread of life. Is Christ raised, or dead on paper?
Galatians 6:8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
Hebrews 7:16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
John.17:21 that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me. 17:22 The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one; 17:23 I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.
Ephesians 5:9 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
Philippians 1:11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
