MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Matt.5:43,44 - Love You Enemies, Bless Those?

Matt.5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor,{Leviticus 19:18} and hate your enemy.{not in the Bible, but see Qumran Manual of Discipline Ix, 21-26}'
5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.

The laws of the flesh take Jesus words here and makes them into a legal contract by other scriptures so it can protect itself from being taken advantage of, but conversely this is what Christ was speaking about, allowing ourselves to be wronged.

How can this happen? How can a honest person state they can faithfully follow Christ Jesus commandments here? Well they can't! Hence, Christ Jesus point, Christ would do this for us in giving us his life, moreover, God would than graft us into the body of Christ Jesus giving us a new personality, not of this world, and its fleshly law that demand justice. But instead, gives us God love in the body of Christ Jesus helping us maintain faith when we sin for not showing love. Yes, the power, and glory goes to the lamb that helps us overcome the world, and all if its desire in doing the will of God. Now we don't have to act righteous, because Christ Jesus is righteous, because we have been give his righteousness as a gift of God's love. Yes, God loved us the sinner first, we were the enemy mistreating God, but now we have become the children of God.

We love because He first loved us, we give because we have the life of Christ in us that allows us to produce good fruit, we bear up because of God's Holy Spirit, we are the temple of the living God. We humbly understand Christ words here that we are sheep for the slaughter and Christ Jesus gives us his life to our mortal bodies so we can glorify God in our sinful flesh.

We don't self-righteously act as though we are good and righteous claiming we love our enemies we know the truth, Christ Jesus loves them, and works through us so they may have life with him. We are but a vessels for God's good pleasure walking by Holy Spirit being thankful we have been forgiven our great debt by God's love.
